The screenshot of the output is here. As you can see i have a "Download" button in each row of the child gridview (i.e., gridView2) but I want the download button to be last column but .net is rendering it to be the first column. How can I do it? More over gridview2 datasource is arraylist. Here is the code
I am using a nested listview to display a seperate grid for each group of data returned from my db query. To get this working, I have adapted a piece of code to group the data prior to it being bound:
[Code]....
I am then using the following html markup:
[Code]....
[Code]....
This works as I want it to however some of the fields within the nested table need to be formatted as currency so I am trying to use Eval and {0:c} to do this however the moment I use Eval, the data items cannot be found
DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRow' does not contain a property with the name '0'.
I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code).The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? Would it be possible to fill the gridview without using gvDomain_rowDataBound? Dries
I ran into this kind of situation many times without a nice solution. Binding a data source to a gridview and one of the column require nested query. Is it possible to have a callback function other than Eval()?
I have two grid views in my page..first one normally displays many number of rows..But the second one displays 3 or 4 rows....when the project running, the second one seems to appear at the centre of the first..that is if the first grid has 12 and second grid has 4 rows ..the first row of the second is in line with the 5th row of the second..why this happen? I want a normal display..The first row of the second grid should be in line with the first row of the first grid.
I have a web app for our golf club. When I compute handicap index for each golfer, I have to select the most recent scores and then a subset of those scores depending on how many rounds of golf the golfer has played. All the scores are entered into a single SQL Express table called "Rounds". Verbally, this is what I'm trying to do:
1) select the twenty most recent golf scores (sort on date descending, "take(20)") [if less than 20 records, then select all available];
2) for this set of records, select the 10 lowest scores (or smaller number if golfer has less than 20 rounds);
3) compute the average round differential for the subset of records, etc. to calculate handicap index (this step is working ok...)
My current VB code has this LINQ query (which is flawed -- it selects the lowest handicap differential scores of ALL records for the filtered user):
[Code]....
How do I modify this query to accomplish items 1) & 2) above? It seems this should be simple, but my experience with queries is still limited.
I am using two Grid Views to display data. One (headersGV) is used to show custom headers which change depending on the device type in the second table (dataGV).
The second displays device data and is bound to db tables. This table has a sort mechanism enabled, the functionality of which is in the header cell of the table, hence the need for the headerGV for column headers.
I need to align these two seperate tables so that the headers align with the data columns in the other table. The dataGV columns dynamically resize depending on the data displayed.
I have tried inline styles, css bound to both tables at different levels of priority, onbind methods, and overriding DataBind() method.
I'm just returning to .NET and I am still getting used to the structure and setup for MVC.. I have a query about partial views /user controls - (i guess). I want to create a partial view of thumb image display (grid-wall like) reusable across the site/solution. The model for this already serves detail pages across the site. I want to use one attribute of the model collection e.g. 'model.thumbImage' to create a grid of thumb images.
My question is do I have to create a separate controller for this partial view e.g. Controllers/GridController.cs and then a view Views/Grid/index.ascx ? What is the best way to apprach this? I do not want the grid to be served/ routed directly i.e grid/index.ascx.
Is there a better, cleaner way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0?
An ASP.NET 2.0 page displays a datalist of records. Each record can have many dates, so the dates are in a nested gridview (I chose a gridview over a datalist here because we want to be able to delete a date and this is easier done in a gridview). The parent record can never be deleted.
The display works fine: the nested gridview gets its datasource during the parent datalist's OnItemDataBound event.
The problem: the nested gridview's delete function. The date gets deleted without a problem (handled in the OnRowDeleting event), but somehow the redisplay is untying all the other nested gridviews from their datasources. The delete does not appear to cause a page postback, so I don't know how the other nested gridviews are losing their datasources.
In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign. The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.
I'm trying this example: [URL] I got it to work before, like 6-months ago. I'm coming back to this now and I can't seem to get the example working. Do I need to create a query in SSMS and then set up my Master/Detail views off of that? It seems like the GridView is NOT linked to the DropDownList and it seems like there is no way to link the two Objects.
I have 50000 record in two tables which need to show in grid? and the records in the table use to insert , update and delete frequently. I need to load fast all the records. which method i should bind to get as quick as early as possible. Which z best method to bind whether using SQL datasource, creating views, using datatable, creating stored procedure etc?
I have designed a collapsible nested gridview project using this article as a reference Collapsible Nested GridView with Paging using ASP.Net. I am trying to modify the code to collapse a gridview when another gridview is expanded so that only one nested gridview will be open at a time.
I have Parent grid view (gvServiceDetail) and child grid view (Gridview2) in Parent grid view. Child grid view has 3 bound column. In Parent grid view I am binding Partnername,Area,Mobile and in child grid I am binding services against partnerid.
Now I want to edit service details row in child grid view.
public class Category { public int CategoryId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public partial class CategoryMap : EntityTypeConfiguration<Category> { public CategoryMap() { this.HasKey(c => c.CategoryId); this.Property(c => c.Name).IsRequired().HasMaxLength(400); } } public class MyObjectContext : DbContext { public MyObjectContext(string connectionStringName) : base(connectionStringName) { } public DbSet<Category> Categories { get; set; } protected override void OnModelCreating(ModelBuilder modelBuilder) { modelBuilder.Configurations.Add(new CategoryMap()); base.OnModelCreating(modelBuilder); } }
Now when I run the following code I get an exception (GenericArguments[0], 'System.Int32', on 'System.Data.Entity.Internal.Linq.ReplacementDbQueryWrapper`1[TEntity]' violates the constraint of type 'TEntity')
DbDatabase.SetInitializer<MyObjectContext>(new DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges<MyObjectContext>()); using (var context = new MyObjectContext("NopSqlConnection")) { var query1 = from c in context.Categories select c.CategoryId; var test1 = query1.ToList(); //works fine var query2 = from c in context.Categories where query1.Contains(c.CategoryId) orderby c.Name descending select c; var test2 = query2.ToList(); //throws the exception }
I'm trying to design a page that displays all suppliers by their location. I'd quite like this to work from a query that will automatically include new locations added in the future.
At the moment my design has a table that holds 'locations' with locationID and locationName fields. In my 'suppliers' table I also have a locationID to join them.
I'm not sure how to query the database to return all the suppliers in location 1, then all in location 2. (Or even sure of the terms I need to Google to get some examples!) For example:
I have a nested GridView with id grd_inner. i have to find a linkbutton in template field of grd_inner and add some attributes to it. but its giving me error.
In nested gridview, i am finding some problem, i want to show child Grid headers in Parent Gridview. Can anyone tell me that how it is possible? Its very urgent. Waiting for quick response.
My requirement is i want to bind data to gridview2 which is placed in gridview1..Iam using EDM objects to refer database...So for Gridview1 Iam getting out put...now how to bind to gridview2...For gridview1 I binded the data which is in onetable...And for gridview2 i want to bind MENU table data...so how can i bind the data...
this is the gridview2..in gridview1 row.
[Code]....
I also tried using FindControl() but iam not able to proceed further.
