I want to add a site map to my website however I am a little unsure as to its contents.
Basically I have a simple site with only 5 pages, the site uses a navigation bar which is generated from a master page and is therefore visible on every page.
This means every page is navigatable from very page. In addition some pages also link to the other pages through key words in the text.
So back to the site map.
[code]....

I work for a product manufacturer and we do not sell products directly to customers, distribution is through our dealer network. I'd like to provide our website visitors with a means to build a shopping cart and then pass the cart contents off to the dealer website of their choice.
The solution needs to be platform independent, even though I will be developing in ASP.net since our dealers' website platforms vary. I would assume most, if not all, do not have an existing API to interface with.
What do you think would be a good means of accomplishing this task?

I want to convert some contents of my website in some language I applied following procedure:
using System.Threading;
using System.Globalization;
public partial class Default2 : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected override void InitializeCulture()
{
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture =
CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("pa-IN");
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new
CultureInfo("pa");
}
base.InitializeCulture();
}
I also add local resources and meta reference tag is appearing in source code of controls like label, textboxes on the page.
But desired language is not yet seen, it continues to appear in English Only.

Average visitors: 5000.
I'm wondering should i make it in PHP or ASP.NET/C#. Website contents might grow really fast because it is expected there going to be daily/continuous posts from users. Its an interactive website that has to login, post, check replies and private messages without any advanced/complex features.
Website might use AJAX as well as JQuery.
What language do you suggest me to go with?

When I make an asp.net web application and add class libraries to the solution, the website project itself has a folder with the same name/contents as the class library.
Eg I make a web application called Test, add a project which is a class library, to the solution, called testAbc, and then there is a folder at the root of the website project called testAbc with the contents of the class lib.

What is the best way to update a DB on a webserver without shutting down the website that is running on the server?
We want to do things like replacing tables, updating tables and so on, without shutting down the website. One can do everything one wants to by simply opening the webiste on a local instance of visual webdeveloper express (2008 for example). But as soon as the DB is opened in that program, the website looses contact to the database and is effectively down.
Is there another way to access the database wihtout having to shut it down?
Of course one could program such functions viwht asp.net, however, there are so many tasks to be done that it would be tedious to program a new function on an admin website each time. Is there a simple and direct way to change the DB?

when I launched my site within Internet Explorer 9 I began receiving script error messages. I read the support for Internet Explorer and found out that because some sites are designed for older browsers there'll be compatibility issues until the sites are updated for Internet Explorer 9.
I found that I could add this code :
void Application_BeginRequest()
{
Response.AppendHeader("X-UA-Compatible", "IE=EmulateIE8");
}
to the Global.asax file to deal with the issue. The errors I received were from IE9.
EDIT: The errors were fixed but I want to know if there is an alternative method to making a website compatible with IE9? Also what are the differences between the way IE8 interprets Javascript code and IE9?

I am working on my first web site using ASP.net. In the past I was working with ADO to build Windows Forms applications.To the point...I want to know how to link my SQL db with the db that is inside in the ASP Web Site project. If I change the database using SQL Management Studio the data will be updated until I remove the .mdf of the project and add again the .mdf from my folder of SQL. I need to be able to update the database outside (Via the WebSite) and inside using SQL Server.

Suddenly all update panels in my website became unknown elements. They work fine when I run site.
But:
no intellisense in update panel (no properties appear, no tags, like "triggers")
no ID property when I drag updatepanel from toolbox
VS says that I check if webconfig contains reference to System.Web.Extensions
But I have this reference already.

Two websites that are being developed by me is online in my office network. Our IT department has updated Internet Explorer and the view my websites is completely disturbed. Now we have Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 In most of my pages the setting is that from top to bottom, in top there is a panel holding dropdown, textboxes and just under this panel there is another panel with gridview. When the pages load the first panel with the search controls are ok.
When i supplied search parameters then gridview resulted overlaping the above panel and it scrolls behind the above panel. When there is one record populates to gridview the whole gridview would not be seen but the count label shows one record.
