I am trying to implement a swift message generator module in a dot net web application, I searched for third party components (I found some expensive dot net components).
where can I begin my development to implement such module?
In a Web server is running. NET Framework 4.0. Whatever the methods and technologies you would advise me. applications built on the basis Asp.NET MVC 2.
I have a database table in MS SQL Server. For each table in database, I must implement the interface for viewing, editing, and deleting. So code generator must generate model, controller and views.. Generation should happen after clicking on the button in WEB UI.as Model I use .NET Entity Framework.
Now, I need to generate controllers and views.
So if i have a table with name tableN1. and below its colums:
[ID] [bigint] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[name] [nvarchar 20] NOT NULL,
[fullName] [nvarchar 50] NOT NULL,
[age] [int] NOT NULL
[active] [bit] NULL
agree: if the type bit, then generate a checkbox.
nvarchar (20) - textbox
nvarchar (max)-textarea and so on.
for this table, i want to generate views and controller.
I want to create a module that can send a message to another module in different tab.I don't know the target tab Id but I know the target module name. Is there any way to do such a thing?Is Dot net nuke support messaging?

I am writing an asp.net HTTP module which needs to read configuration data once from a local file (say config.xml stored in application root directory) and then based on configuration perform some processing on incoming requests.
Since there is no Application_Start/Application_init hooking available in Asp.NET modules, what would be the best way to handle the scenario. I am trying to avoid reading configuration file each time a request comes. Ideally, I want to read the config file when application starts.
I need to code this in http module only and do not want to use Global.asax
Is it possible to debug the init event from a http module? If I set breakpoints, they don't get triggered.

We'd like to be able to have this run when the Web Role starts instead of on the first request.
I know IIS 7.5 has an Application Warm-Up module that would allow us to achieve this, but I'm having trouble figuring out if something similar exists with hosting on Windows Azure.
In an ASP.NET web app written in VB.NET, I need to load and store a large read-only hash table that is frequently accessed by the application. It only needs to be loaded once on application start, is never updated and can be accessed by any session at any time.
If I load the hash table into a private member in a (global) module, a lookup to it takes one 20th of the time compared to storing the hash table in the Application or Cache object. Is there any reason why I should not do this, or should Application or Cache always be used to store in-memory objects in an ASP.NET web application?
I have an asp.net 3.5 application. When i try to load the application it says: Exception Details: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'VSPerf100.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
The application works fine on my win 7 machine. i tried the same on win server 2008 r2 where in i get the above message.

I have implemented master pages using this example How to implement a status bar in an ASP.NET application?. I have a property on my SiteMaster.cs inherited MasterPage called Environment. On my MasterPage.master I have this code:

What I would like to do is evaluate this.Environment and if it is "LIVE" then colour the background of this.Environment text red, and if it's "TEST" colour it yellow. How would I do this?

View 5 RepliesI've built an ASP.NET MVC application with MVC 2.0 and Fluent NHibernate (hided behind repositories for some reasons). The application represents a quite complex domain with some different objects like users, messages, comments, files and appointments.
Now I want to implement a fulltext search which is enabling the user to find easily all types of content by simply entering a search phrase. When handling all that types of different objects in the application seperately, I now have to put them "together" for the search. That means the user makes no distinction between the different types, he just enters "xyz" and wants to get results in a list, comments mixed up with messages etc.
Option 1 is to create a search service which fetches the search result from the different repositories and prepares the combined output (sorting, paging etc.). But that's really, really expensive when the data behind grows (and it will grow).
So I am looking for an alternative solution. Currently I am working with SQL Server 2008. What I have found is lucene.net [URL], but I didn't invest much time yet.
How can I implement Jquery JSONP in my ASP.NET project. My application flow is described below:
1) I am opening a HTTP page, where I have got JQuery login dialog box, from which username and password is posted to my Login.aspx page, which has got one method "GetLoginDetails" which takes posted username and password and sends to a WEBSERVICE which checks the users name and password and return back with "success=true"
2) so in my response I get "success=true", I read that value from jquery and works according to responded text on my client side it display message "Logged in Successfully".
I need to implement a web site installer for my asp.net application. The installer will be handling following features - Deploy the .net web application on to the IIS server Setting up the Sql database connection to run the DB scripts. Execute all the DB scripts. Run another exe for the license management. If some thing goes wrong, need to rollback everything. I have heard about wix and install shield and wondering what would be the best technology suitable for this particular case.
