JQuery: Function Not Working When Clicking Button Inside <form Runat="server">?
Sep 9, 2010
With jQuery, in (document).ready I assigned a click function to all buttons of my asp.net (aspx) page. When I click a button outside , the function works properly.
When clicking a button INSIDE the form, it doesn't work. Why?
Here my default.aspx page:
[code]....
I'm using Visual Studio 2010. I tried also with jQuery 1.4.2, same problem.
I've got the ImageButton wrapped inside a form tag with runat="server" but STILL getting this error at runtime. The form tag is at the very beginning (before my table) and end tag is at the end (after the table).
Since upgrading to VS2010, I've been having issuse up on issues with my apps. Some are pure asp.net web sites, other are webpats that are eventually be converted to a Sharepoint web part.
In one of these webparts, I'm building a tab control on the fly. It fetches data from the table via bll/dal. On my dev box I build this in the code file of the default.aspx file and rendering it in a panel, except that it get the said error. I'm quite sure this is how I've done it in VS2008, so I don't know what is going on here - see my code below.
I have a user control that employs many other controls (GridView, Images, Ajax Tool kit extenders, etc.). When called the RenderControl() method there is the dreaded "<control> must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server". Seems many people have run into this and suggest overriding erifyRenderingInServerForm on the page the control sits in. I tried to do this, but ran into other issues (for example the ajax control tool kit calendar extender started to complain about the extender not being registered properly).
When a form with a run at server is added there will be two forms with runat server and another error occurs. The details of the error are as follows.Control 'ctl00_TextBox1' of type 'TextBox' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

The problem now is before the form completes it's load. If I do click on any buttons on the page, the ModatPoupExtender pops out. and then when I close it, the page freezes.
i need a pop up form in asp.net 3.5 like by clicking a button a small pop up form should appear with some controls after entering data that form should disappear and that values should reflect on main form.
Using jQuery I want to be able to click an element which will also checks it's related radio button. I had this working fine until we had to add runat="server" to the radio buttons. When I apply this it prevents my jQuery function from working how to get round it, heres a simplified version of the code:HTML
I've found out that when its converted to a .net control instead of checked="checked" (as it would be usually) it is just Checked, so I changed that but on inspecting the DOM in multiple browsers, none of my radio buttons are being checked(Are there any other ways I can use jQuery to check a radio button that has runat="server"?
Has anyone implemented FancyBox to display a form where user can make an entry within a FancyBox dialog? I'm simply displaying an inline form within a FancyBox dialog but my button is not firing. If I do not set to style="display: none;", I can see my form i.e. a TextBox control and a Button control and it works fine. If I set it display: none so that I can show my form within a FancyBox dialog, it doesn't work.
I have to add some ajax to a site, and i can see that in the master page they are using traditional tag <form id="form1" action="ExternalSite.com?a=b" name="test">and I get a tag incorrectly formed when I add a runat="server" within the form tag - but without it I can't have a valid scriptmanager?
How can I trigger a jQuery function with the Gridview Select button? I want that the select button trigger the jquery function that has the row details (it's already working with a asp:buttonfield ), and select the row so i can get the values and send it trough e-mail with another button. I don't know if this is possible. or, Can I trigger the jQuery function from code behind with the select button Sub? How?
[Code]....
This function capture the gridview cell values that are hidden and show them in a div outside the gridview (it works as row details). I have no problem with this.
[Code]....
All i need is a button that select the row index and/or values and trigger the jquery function . Or I can execute the jQuery function from server side. I don't know if it's posible.
Buttons inside UpdatePanels are automatically registered as triggers for that UpdatePanel. Is there a way to make the UpdatePanel ignore one of it's inside buttons? That is, to make it so that clicking this button does NOT trigger any sort of postback?
My page scrolls down a bit, so the problem is when the ASP.NET validation kicks in (its a server side validation that sets a table row to visible if there was a failed validation for a given input box). The problem is, when there is an error, the page scrolls back to the top.How can I force the page to the bottom? can use <a name="asdf"></name> but the page doesn't refresh normally since its a asp.net image button.
I have a span control which I am filling using Jquery. At the page load I want this span say id1 to be invisible and depending on some conditions I am making it visible via jquery itself.
When I make id1 runat = server and try to access id1 from codebehing, then I get an error in Jquery.
Hence I need a way to make id1 invisble at the load time itself.
I have already set id1 = invisble in HTML, But still I see this control on the page till the time jquery fills the entire data.
I have a few form inputs on my page, each with separate buttons to sumbit them. I need to set the master form's default button client-side when clicking the relevant textbox. I have fond the following code:
i am using asp.net and following code to submit form on enter key press it is working but only refreshing same page and not calling button click event in server side code and without saving data it is comming back to same form, even without the jquery code again same thing happening don't know why but in some forms enter key press working fine and saving data without even following jquery code.
the output I am getting at the moment, is my parent data displays along with my child data. However when I click on the button to toggle the views i am getting a "cannot cast type error"I have also tried to put the itemdatabound event in my parent repeater tag, that worked but when I click on the buttons it just keeps moving to the top of the page and won't hide or show any of the child data except for the first child of the first parent.
