I want to track the new url being entered in the browser when the user leaves the current page in the onunload event.
If the user is browsing www.xyz.com/page1.aspx and suddenly he types a new URL in the browser, I want to get the new url typed in the onunload event. Is that possbile ?
I dont know whether this simple task or not, but I tried to search in google but couldn't find anything.
I've a asp.net form and user enters some data in the text boxes provided. Whenever user submits the form, browser will save that form data. I don't want this form data to be saved in browser. How can I restrict the browser saving this form data without touching the browser settings?
Application is developed using asp.net and normal text boxes are used here.
I am populating a table based on a javascript function.I want to limit the data entered to 2, afterwhich I hide the table. Is there a way to track how many hits the javascript code gets hit?
Assume you have a page in ASP.NET where it makes sense to use JavaScript/jQuery to modify the DOM with values that will eventually be read by the server on submit. For example, you have a form that allows end users to add/remove objects (like dependents on a health insurance form or assets on a loan application). What are some ways to ensure that these items are detected and retrieved by the server once the information is submitted?
I've tried a few things that work, but none of them seem perfect so I wanted to see what the community had to offer. Also, I'm not looking for suggestions that avoid dynamic DOM elements (like use a Wizard, etc.). I'm specifically trying to improve my technique with dynamically created DOM elements.
We have a asp.net web form with fairly a large number of form controls (textboxes, dropdown, checkboxlist, gridview,etc..)
There's a profile list (dropdown list) - when a profile is selected from this list, the attributes of that profile should be filled in to the other form controls. then if the user changes at least one of these form values, then the profile list value should be reset to a value 'Common'. this is an item in the profile list.
Basically that means, if a user selects 'profileA' and then changes the attributes of profileA, then the profile list should not display 'profileA', instead it should show 'Common'.
what is the best way to handle this. I know there's a jquery function for 'dirty forms', but I'm not sure how to use this, and where and when to call this function.
I need to validate a textbox that it should allow only certain characters and after the limit is reached the textbox should not allow entering characters in it.It can be done by Javascript but dont know how to do..
In asp.net page, How can i call the javascript methods for form processing-submitting if the user browser supports javascript and use code behind events if the browser does not support javascript.I have the javascript code to send the form data to an ajax server page using jquery. we are working on one of our site which is having lots of javascript code.but while testing one of our tester has disabled javascript in browser.so in this scenario javascript code is not working properly. So can any one let me know is thr any work around to run javascript code while browser javascript is disabled.
i want a pop up to be displayed when user tries to close the browser and if user click on "no" [i.e. he don't want browser to be closed] then it prevent browser to get closed.
So to ensure that javascript is enabled on a browser, you need to check wheather the returned valued is either equal to or bigger than 1. This works on normal browsers, but when I test it on my phone the returned value is always 0.0, no matter if my javascript is enabled or disabled. Is there a way to check if javascript is enabled on a mobile browser or will the browser handle the incapability on it's own?
I need to get client stats for browser (not full long description but short names, generally firefox,ie6,ie7,ie8,safari,chrome,opera and mozilla). Client resolution and OS ie. Windows Vista, Ubuntu .
How do i make sure that for particular ASP.NET page CSS/JS file will not be cached on browser side (each time its loaded from server)? Anything that can be done using the server side code?
When I run this code as non secure with HTTP, everything works just like it should. The report opens.
Is there any difference using those two different URLs with default.aspx and without it, because in development it behaves the same way, but under HTTPS one page doesn't exist and another is blank?! Is HTTPS the reason for that?
I am developing full ajax web app. So I need to develop google crawlable app, also I must create snapshot for googlebot.Do you know headless browser works with javascript and ajax for ASP.NET ?I found XBrowser but right now it hasn't JavaScript support.
What should i do if the javascript was disabled on the client browser ?
Should I call the server side ? and how could i do such a thing if it is possible ?
I have a web page, and I am using JQuery ajax, and I'm calling the server side using the webMethod attribute, so what should i do if the client browser disable Javascript ....
to bring a browser window to the front based on some action? I'm writing an intranet application that monitors for new messages to be received over our satellite link from our fleet, but our dispatchers already have busy screens. Is there a way to bring a browser window to the front via javascript or code behind?
when i click the link button in Masterpage the window has to close. This function is working properly in IE but in fireFox or chrome or Safari Other than IE in all browsers postback is happening.
I'm looking for possible ways for sending files from browser to server. One obvious way is using form with enctype='multipart/form-data'. I wonder if there are other ways than this.
The reason I ask you this question is this file uploader: http://aspnetajax.componentart.com/control-specific/upload/features/core_features/WebForm1.aspx
It's not flash based, but it sends the file in a way that it gives you a progress bar, but when you send a file with form with enctype='multipart/form-data' the whole file will be send to the server so you can't actually show a progress bar of uploading process.
I have used clientheight for getting height. When i use in ie its working fine. But in the case of other browser its not working. How can i set contentplace holder.i have tried with window.height()..but its not working
