Jquery - Hiding A Div When Dropdown Selected Value Changes

I have a dropdown list that when the selected value changes I want to hide a div. (There is another control that makes the div visible). I currently have the following but the div is not hiding when I change the selected value in the dropdown.

I am facing a problem with jquery bubbleup plugin....
My goal is to show selected item text in a bubble up on the top of the asp.net dropdown list...
I did it on the server side and its working fine....now i want to do it in a nice way using jquery....
I am not concern with only bubble up...
anything which shows my selected item text in the dropdown list...because some text in the drop down is very big and we are unable to see it..
I do have around 10 dropdown lists on my page and all are inside formviews...
so its better to operate on class selector...like $('.mydropdown').val();

My mission is to figure out how to hide a dropdown box, and I hope I will be able to receive some . My web form is set up like kind of a questionare, mostly yes/no, some N/A's for the answers in the dropboxes. I would like to make an entire question vanish based on the previous question being answered N/A. I have the web form setup using tables, each question occupying a cell.

on page AutoCompleteExtender is implemented and just below it, one dropdown is there.
When AutoCompleteExtender displays the list it is getting hide by the below dropdown.
All the controls on page are dynamic.
So, i cannot hide the other dropdowns to get it work.

I would like to ask a question about hiding a drop down in my gridview. I have a gridview and I have a drop down list to control the page size of that gridview. when there is data in that gridview, it is fine for user to see the drop down list. But when there are records in the gridview, I do not want the user to see this drop down list. How can I hide it when there is no data?

I have a dozen tables, and two dropdown lists.The first drop down list shows the table names. The second dropdown list needs to be poulated with the data from the specific table selected in the first dropdown list.I wrote a stored procedure that will query the selected table name choosen in the the first dropdown list. My results though are only showing this...

Values in multiselect dropdown not getting selected when Select All option is selected for a SSRS dropdown. There are multiple dropdowns on the page. We have one dropdown whose output is being used to populate the second dropdown using a stored procedure. When we check the Select All checkbox on the dropdown then ideally upon page refresh all the values should get selected in the dropdown, but in this case the page refreshes back to the blank dropdown, forcing the user to select the values again. The next dropdown too does not get populated. This makes it impossible to run the report for all the cases by using Select All. We ran the report on differnet database environments. My current location is Mumbai,India, the report worked fine when we ran it on a Bangalore,india database. This issue occurs when we try running it on a Chicago database server. I am using SSRS 2005, SQL2005.

I have a form in asp.net mvc that retrieves records from the database. this form have dropdowns. in Edit action of controller it is must to have selected the already inserted items. suppose if i am taking the User information for edit, then its City,State and country must be selected as they inserted before.
So i tried in Edit:
int CityId_ = objAM.GetCityName(User.CityId);
ViewData["Cites"] = new SelectList(City.GetAllCities(), "CityId", CityName", CityId_);
same like country and state. but though CityId_ have value but it no appear like that. It defaults from first city (same for all) why this because ?
i just gone throught this blog where i found , the assigning third parameter name should be in the object's property. but let say I have primary and Fk relationship, but columns name are different then it seems MVC strongly coupled feature fail. Why this is ?

Here is jquery code which hides my table cells with the ID of .style2:

how i can set the default selected value for a dropdown list. My actual code is:

the GetAvatars() function return a List<MyObject> that contains the avatars informations such as filename and file url. I don't know if i this is correct, anyway i want to display a selectbox that shows the list of the avatars in a folder with a predefinited avatar selected and i would like to show an image near the selectbox with the current selected avatar. I have a main "index" view that has a drop down and a submit button. When a selection is made (CampaignId) and a submit button is pressed a list of items is displayed and filtered based on the selection from the drop down list.
I've added a partial view (on the right rail) of my site that lists a bunch of campaigns. when a link is pressed in that partial view a (CampaignId) is passed to my page and the same thing happends as if you would make a selection from the drop down. The issue is that the dropdown "Campaign Name" should be selected based on the selection from the partial view.
