I want to loop through my datatable column called SDESCR and created a string that looks like this.

How can I get this to see the GetInfo as declared..... since its in a loop within a loop?
I have a datatable with 1 record only, can I reference the data in the row without a for loop? I can get to the data by using the following code, but it would be nice if I didn't have to use the For loop.

I have a following scenario - A use selects criterias from a webform (C#) - a result is then returned from the sql. Say, to start, there are 2000 data returned from the sql and are stored in a dataset.
Now, the user wants to choose a number of drops (up to 6) - with the number of drops selected, they can enter their own quantity in each box. So, they can divide the 2000 records into 6 different drops. With each drop, there is campaigncode created based on the mail date and the job number they provide.
So, now i have the 2000 records in a dataset. What i want to do is loop through the gridview where the user fill out the quantity depending on the number of drops (for ex: if they say 3 drops, then there will be 3 rows in gridview with 3 quantity box to fill).
In the loop, I am getting the quantity, dropdate and the job number. The Campaigncode is created as well. Then, i am looping through the datarow in the dataset; updating the Campaign Code column with the CampaignCode for the number of records thats set in a loop. It works but the Campaign Code is not populated for the next set of records.

as a php developer ive been told to go the MVC route which ive been trying since yesterday. Im using visual web delveloper 2010 express and im using the MVC template project.Ive basically got a news table in MSSQL Express, in there are these fields ID,(Title,Body,PostedOn,PostedBy) all i wanna do is loop through them to put them on the view.Im after a nudge in the right direction, I want to be able to do a SQL lookup in the controller put that data in a DataTable then run a foreach loop on the table to display this on the view. The problem im getting is I know youre not suppsed to put any HTML in the controller and I cant pass the datatable to the view to do the loop in the view.. so where/how do I do the loop.

My question is, is there any benefit to instantiating a new userDetails object in every loop, or can this be created outside the loop and title, forename and surname just written over with every pass of the loop?
I've got a while loop that's doing some stuff, and what I want is for it to create a new array each time.

I am currently working on a project where I am trying pull a list of entries from an Oracle database depending on a selection that is made by the user via a Drop Down list. Then I want provide a user with a list of options that they can select that is related to the drop down option that they have selected. For Example:
First Drop Down from database: Honda, BMW, Ford
If user selects:
Honda -- options that are available in the separte table in the database for this entry are -- Type, Engine Size, Colour
BMW -- options that are available in the separte table in the database for this entry are -- Colour, Wheel Trims, Extra's

What I wanted to do is have a form displayed to the user where thy can say select a car eg. "BMW" and then on the change of that drop downs index the site will do a call back and retrieve the entries for the BMW options in the seperate tabel, these being Colour, Wheel Trims, Extra's. Then it will put these details in a DataSet and then i wanted to create a new text box or input field for the users to enter details in. I have a dropdownlist whose values are int (actually they are string basically but they can be parsed. they are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.. etc)

In the foreach loop, it is iterating through the publisher's tables rows, and I wamt it to query the titles table to find all books that have that publisher id and create a gridview out of it. In the code above I am not getting it right. I need multiple GridViews, one for each iteration of the foreach loop. How do I do this?

I'm loading data from my database into a DataTable, and one of the columns is a date field.

I'd like to format that column so that instead of containing a full date, it will be formatted like "MM/DD/YYYY".
I've tried looping through each row in the table and changing the cell for that column, but I get an error saying that the string isn't a valid DateTime object.
I tried changing the column DateType to a string, but I get an error saying I can't change the DateType after the table is filled.
How can I do this? This seems like such a simple thing, but I'm having so much trouble with it.

what i get in the form is: getDesc ! everything is right in the dataset and if i bind it to a gridview it works fine but when i convert it to string it seems it converts the table adaptor's name instead of the value.ance

View 5 RepliesMy datatable consists of a column named "ID". The no. of values in this column varies.Sometimes this Datatable fetches 3 IDs in that ID column, sometimes 2. Now if for example, my datatable has three values as 1,2,3. What I want is to put these three values in a string and separate them by commas as folows:-

If Datatable has 2 values, then string should be as follows:-
string test= "1,2";
I did try but in vain.

i'm trying to sort a datatable using the typical select method*. The problem comes because the field is string defined but it's containing integer values.
With sql the problem will be solved just using something like:
select * from table order by to_number(field);
but of course it's not working properly with the method commented above (select method).
