Need To Map Values In DB Table And Some Of Them Will Be Inserted As New Rows Into The Database And Existing Record Will Be Updated?

I have data entry form like...There are some empty rows and some of them have values. User can Update existing values and can also fill value in empty rows.I need to map these values in my DB table and some of them will be inserted as new rows into the database and existing record will be updated.I need your suggestions, How can I accomplish this scenario with best approach.
I have a table in orcale database where I am inserting records. I am able to insert a record in a table but it is not being saved permenantly.When inserting there is no error. what could be causing this?
I'm having a gridview in my aspx page with checkbox, User can select one or more than one record(s) at a time and clicks on delete button, Then i'm constructing an object of my DTO and adding all the checked row's Primary Key (DataKeyNames - GUID's in case) to a serializable class and generating an XML and sending it as parameter to the Stored Procedure.
My Doubt is, can i bulk delete all the rows from database table those are present in my XML document??
If it works, I can do bulk update with XML only, i already did bulk insertion by generating an XML..
My Another Question is, Will it affect the performance? Each time when i construct an DTO object and adding it to the Generic List??
WHich one is better, I mean ObjectDataSource or SQLDataSource or my XML method?
I am trying to insert a record into a MySQL Table. I thought that the Insert methods returned the number of records that were successfully inserted. But that is not what I found. My code:

I get n = 0 even though the record is installed. How can I determine if the insert was successful or not?
I want to name the headers of the ListView control acording to values of the first rows of a table in the database. This I want to do because the number of columns varies for each cutstomer and also the name of the column.

I receive data in .csv format. I have a some records on a table, so what I need to do is to check if the data I receive exist on the table of records that I need to match against.

I'm needing to get the selected rows, based on checkboxes, to insert into a different table than that that the gridview is formed from. I've created an innerjoin datasource to try and solve this but, still having problems finding something that works. I also need it to insert based upon a button click not inside the gridview as I believe otherwise would only hamper the situation more.

there is no record related to DropDownList1.SelectedValue. but as i am counting if(dt.rows.count) and i put break point on the bolded part it shows 1 record. how it can be possible?

I'm very new to ASP.NET and MVC2 but I've managed to piece together a project that allows a user to create an entry in the SQL Express database - just like the "MVC Movie Application". However, I now want to utilize the [Log On] Forms Authentication feature. Requirement: when the user successfully registers an account my existing database needs to be updated with a row of data.
Using the MVC Movie Application as an example: the method "public ActionResult Register(RegisterModel model){}" [see: AccountController] needs to be wired to also perform "public ActionResult Create(Movie newMovie)" [see: MoviesController] how is this achieved ? (specifically, to update the MVC Movie application to create a new movie whenever someone registers a new account.)
I am working on a web page that will display records from a database. Each record has a total of 8 columns. One column may be as long as 500 characters, and the other 7 columns are between 5 to 25 characters. For each record in the dataset returned from the database, the short columns should be above, and the long column below.
In other words, each database record is made of two rows, the 7 short fields in the top row (each field in a cell), and the long field in the bottom row in one cell. Both rows should be similar in length.
I have an image (consider the image of a clock). I would like to change the position of the dials depending on values retrieved from database. (This will probably be done using a service which will run every minute or so.) I just want to know how I can change the image (i.e modify the existing image).This is for a dashboard screen. The images would be refreshed every minute to get the latest data.

I want to compare a user-entered value on a Web form against an array of existing values from the database, and do so on blur. If match, then show error. Scenario is to stop user from needlessly filling out other fields if this record has already been entered.
how to trigger this? What parts are client-side, what parts are server-side? Can I do it without Javascript?
