I have asp.net web site which has master page ajax and css file....
I have change masterpage and change master page reference in each page to new masterpage name. then i open aspx page and open in design view no problem i can see new lay out colours and images, when i right click on file name and click on view on browser page open in IE but not images no styles. try on Firefox same problem.
I am using a style sheet linked to a master pageThere are many styles on the css page that are working and have been working for quite some time on the master pageI can't put any new text inside a <div> tag on the master page and then create a style for it - the style does not get appliedThey style does get applied in design view but not in the browder when I run the website
View 1 RepliesI have a webapp with a Masterpage and 4 or so content pages. I have created a theme folder with a style sheet. I put the <pages theme="Default" in the web.config. When I run the app all the styles in the style sheet apply and it looks great. But design view does not apply the styles from my theme. Design view does not use the web.config setting or something. How do I get design view to apply the theme styles.

I have a page where I want to load a lot of images to. Say I have a page of like 50 images 2mb large each and I want them to be displayed on one page. Whats the best way to do that?
Basically what I'm doing right now is loading them from the server and displaying them in image tags. Problem is this crashes the browser. In chrome it will crash, in IE it will bog the computer down and lock it up. I think the browser is running out of memory or something.I'm wondering if I should be using a background worker or a different thread or something.. Is this possible with a web app?
I have a page with features supplied from both a master page and a child master page.In the content placeholder for the head in both master pages I have supplied the link to the stylesheet for the site.In Design View in VS 2008 the CSS code seems to be functioning correctly.When viewing in a browser the CSS does not appear to be applied at all.

Is there any way I can figure out that the page is loading for the first time in the web browser. We are deploying in a web farm scenario and doing some crazy operations with our website and it has become hard for me to figure out how to know that the website is loaded th e first time in the browser.
Also is there any way I can clear cache as old data keeps on getting displayed.
I have a set of images which are subjected to display inside a usercontrol(horizontally) but while loading the page the images are displaying vertically. Only after the page completely loaded they are displaying properly. How can I use jQuery to hide the images when the page is loading and display them when the page is fully loaded. I created a .master page having images,.css file. If i created I .aspx page then it displays normally (with master pages content) but if I create .aspx page inside some folder then design is not applying to the sub pages (Only for pages which are inside the folders)
View 7 RepliesI have a website that uses a master page that contains the navigation for the site.The navigation buttons are images.Some of the navigation button images have hover menus tied to them.Those hover menus contain several image buttons, so as to create a drop down menu affect.The problem I have is when any of the pages are loading all of my hover menu image buttons flash on the left side of the screen for a second or less as the page is being rendered.Can this be stopped?

But when i go to Design View of the page (for creating the events automatically or for drag/drop any new control from toolbox, I don't want to type everything) the design view only shows the master page! the page controls are complete ignored!

I've always depended on putting a control on an aspx page and double-clicking in design view to create my VB page. But this isn't happening in my current project. It creates an inline script in my aspx page instead. Where is the option or preference or XML file or.... that controls this?

This works fine on on the public site, but breaks on the dev machine because of the addition of the virtual directory level.
I want to add a key to my config file to manage the current location of the site: <add key="CurrentServerLocation" value="http://localhost/<VirtualDirectory>/"/> or

Then I want to add the key value to my links, so that I can change the server path in just one location, config file.
For example:

However, I don't know the correct syntax to add a key value to an aspx page?
When I'm in Design View I can't scroll down to the bottom of some of my pages. I've scrolled down as far as I can and the bottom is cut off. This doesn't happen on all the pages. I tried increasing the height for the ContentPlaceHolder.

View 3 RepliesI have a very strange problem with my website... I created a rather large page, consisting of a few tables with some labels and textboxes where the user can enter a mechanical car setup (it's for a racing game).
I was working with simple textboxes previously, but I recently switched over to a NumericBox control which should allow only numeric input using some client-side javascript. The NumericBox control is simply a UserControl with a single TextBox on it, and some client side events are added to this textbox which call methods from a single javascript file ("Scripts/numericValidator.js")
When I put a couple of these boxes on a page it works just fine, I can only enter numbers. For it to work though I need to add the script to the page and I do that using this line, either in the head content or in the body content controls:

(the path is chosen with the 'Pick URL' dialog so it should be alright, and it does indeed need to go up two directories first as the page is in the '~/Pages/RequireLogon" directory) However, after replacing most of the textboxes on my large page with NumericBoxes, and adding this script line to my aspx code, the design view is 'broken'. I cannot see any of my controls anymore, and I cannot even put any new controls on there. It seems like the Content control is missing, even though it's still there just fine without errors in the aspx code.
When I remove the script line, the problem is fixed again, the controls re-appear. So it's definitely the script line causing the problem, but I cannot see how it could...I tried it with a new blank page and the problem appears there too. If I use this simple page with just a button:

I'm trying to figure out a logical and quick way to implement the "PRG" design style in a small site I'm doing, and I'm finding an issue I can't think of a good way to solve.I have a form. It has 2 fields (first and last name). When the user submits the form, I check to make sure that they have data in them before I save it to the database. look at this sample link address: (weather.gov) [URL] if you view page source in browser, you can see that it shows data in XML format (usng xsl.?). I need to implement a simple web page like that. I think that web site uses XML XSL I'm going to implement a web application in asp.net which will use data stored in sql database (or xml database or web service) and show these information like other normal web sites but in xml format in nice UI (using xsl?).That Weather website is only a sample to show what i want to do (i will not use any data from that site, my application is different).My requirement is being able to view page source only in XML format.Now I'm clear that xsl is the solution for that, but considering to use this method in asp.net.(use xml/xsl in dynamic asp.net pages) My Question? I want to display these results on a web page via the grid view. However, I don't want to show the user 6 times! I want to show the user name once, the contract type once and each Job! What is the best way to do this? Is there a fault with the database design already? I assume the easiest answer is to not join them in a view but query each section 3 times from the website but I'd rather 1 connection only!
