I need to pass many records with number of fields(i.e 5rows and 5 columns) in either array or table form to oracle for processing. Is it possible to pass array/table from asp.net pages? My also have included CSS Friendly adapter [URL] in my project ( I mentioned this because my GridView Empty data template is not showing when using GridView's CCS Friendly adapter). I've created an Excel spreadsheet for my users to upload into my web application to bulk import memberships and roles into the application. There are up to 4 different roles which users can be members of so I'm using AddUsersToRoles to add the user to one or more roles in one line of code like this:
r.AddUsersToRoles(usernames, CreateListOfRoles(Role1, Role2, Role3, Role4))
As this line of code expects a one-dimensional array of roles, I have created a function to take in the roles from my spreadsheet, add them into a one-dimensional array, and return that to the AddUsersToRoles method. The CreateListOfRoles function looks like this:

The error that I'm getting though is "System.InvalidCastException: At least one element in the source array could not be cast down to the destination array type." I've stepped through the Function in debug mode and all the values look correct and there are the correct number of items in the array so I don't understand what's going wrong.
I am trying to return some data as json from an action method.
I have an employee object that looks like this:

I need to return a json object that looks exactly like this:

]}
For now I only need to go to the second level as above, returning and supervisor and their staff members beneath them.
How would I go about returning this in my action method(I have the viewModel object hydrated already I just need to return it as json). My problem so far has been that the children property does not get populated.

I have differernt object types (with different fields), but the final step of my process is the same regardless of which object is being used.

I am trying to get a parameter for my update from the gridview but it is an ID column that I do not want displayed. If I display the data in a boundfield it works fine but if I set the visibility to false the parameter is no longer sent to the update stored procedure. I have a list of paramaters eg A,P,C,K,L each paramater represent a value in the database when past in via request.querystring it returns the value from the database. the problem i am having lets say we http://localhost/default.aspx?string=P when you look at the view source of the page its changing the parameter "P" to another parameter from the list. i have approxmately 6000 clients connecting to this default page with different paramater based on their location.

I am using ASP.NET MVC 3 and the YUI library.I created my own helper method to redirect to an edit view by passing in the item's ID from the Model as such:
