i have 2 aspx pages. first one has two hidden input fields as follows.

Now when this lands on the next page, I need to pick up these values, so basically -
dim a1 as integer=0, b1 as integer=0.
a1 = ad.value
b1 = bd.value
Say If got these dates in a TextBox 2010/06/19,2010/06/20,2010/06/21,2010/06/22,2010/06/23, i want automicly my Start label to pickpup the lowest date and Label End to pickup the highest Date Start: [2010/06/19] End: [2010/06/23] between brackets is my label

Same application is tried from Dubai to recieve same data but an error occured to receive data. What could be problem? Application from Dubai is accessing My PC service but server at Germany is not accessible. Is there ant blockage issue from server to specific Global IP. User is accesing using Wi Fi.

In a page , when I click a button 'showDialog' I am loading the user control dynamically in a dialog. I am linking to the event in the user control as explained below. The parent page is not receiving this event.

I am using forms authentication and authorization through roleManager. I have two Roles - "Customers" and "Employees". The redirection to the default page for the "Customers" role is working fine, but I get an oledb error stating that one or more parameters are not being passed when I redirect a user from the "Employees" role. The following is the code in login.aspx that handles the authentication of the user:

I know that I can htmlencode and decode server side with ASP.Net, but i've run into an issue if I want to work with some of my forms that should allow html tags when working out side of my companies network. The issue is with my companies firewall tests for cross site scripting attacks. So, now I need to encode/decode my text on the client side it would seem. What does the rest of the world use and/or do to overcome issues like this?

View 11 Replies I have a textbox that I am "custom" validating to lookup in a table to see if the name exists. When I test it out, if it finds a duplicate, the validation results in an error message as I would expect. First is this only works if I add autopostback to my textbox and that I click elsewhere on the page. The other issue is that after I type a string in my textbox, I want it to validate such that if it returns an error, I don't want to submit the form until the validation is good.
How would I programatically set this up?

I have an ASP.NET application designed for a Windows CE device that needs to take in information from a scanned barcode. The device sends the scanned data as string input with a crlf to whatever field has focus. I set up my page with a textbox that takes the input and posts back to look up the item.
Now, I'd like that box to not be visible to the user, but IE complains when I set focus to it if the field is "visibility: hidden" or "display: none". I've tried moving it off screen using absolute coordinates, but setting the focus scrolls the window to the new location.
I created a web part called 'staff phone search'. There are two controls 'Button' and 'Textbox' in it. The web part is inherited from Webcontrols webpart class not from sharepoint web part.My problem is that if I fill the search keyword text box and click the button, the text box and the button disappear. However the webpart displays result properly. Subsequently I am not able to search again because the web part never shows the controls again. How can I keep the controls after the webpart is submitted?

I am building a Web Content form in which the user enters some data in asp:TextBoxes, and presses submit to store the data in the database.
I am using an Upadate Panel, in which I have put the afore mentioned asp:TextBoxes. Is there a way to set TextBox.Text = string.Empty after the submit?
Note that I have implemented code, which sets my TextBox.Text = string.Empty in my aspx.cs file, which of course does not work since I am using the update panel with an AsyncPostBackTrigger...
I have a page with multiple textboxes and each has a button associated with it. This works as a search 'hub', I suppose, where the user can search by ID, name etc. When entering a search term for e.g. name however, pressing enter 'clicks' the very first button on the page (ID search), causing an error if the associated textbox is empty (which it would be if someone meant to search by name). I have attempted to rectify this using JQuery, and have written the following:

I'm simply using the click event so that I can monitor where focus is redirected, but eventually I would use .keypress. However, nothing happens upon clicking a textbox and I can't see for the life of me what is wrong with the JQuery. When the submit button is clicked the name is validated using a function connecting to the DB. If It already exists the label should show "Already Exists". I have set the label text in the buttonclick event handler but the label is no set. The popup just closes. I want the label to be set and make the popup remain unclosed. How to achieve this functionality ?

Is it need to use HttpWebRequest? how does it works? i want to pass data from a asp.net page's textbox to a textbox in a given URL/ a given website, how can i do it? For example, i want to pass a text box value which is entered by a user in my asp page, then the textbox value will be passed to the website's text box and get the response. I want to pass some data to a website-for example [URL] then call the submit button of the given website from my ASP.NET page, then get response from it.
Which means when user fill in the textbox in my asp.net page, [URL] the hotel search textbox will be auto fill in with the data (such as the date) that user typed in my ASP.NET page. and this will call the submit button of the website, so that the given website can response.
i want when user click on submit button then a div layer will be generated over the textbox whose height and width will be just the same as textbox and in this way textbox will be blocked for entering something. i want to do it by javascript. in this scenario other textbox will not be blocked.

A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$txtname="<test>"). I found the solution of this porblem by ValidateRequest="false". But if i do this then the request will not be validate and then attacks probablity will be increase. what should i do to for this whithout using ValidateRequest attribute.
