View 2 RepliesI have an application whereby a user browses to an Ajax enabled page, sets up some filters, and then clicks on download report. When the user clicks on this button, they are redirected to a Download.aspx page, which builds up the report and appends it to the response as binary (the file may either be zip/pdf or excel). The issue I am having is that everytime the user goes to the page and hits the download button the warning message from IE pops up "To help protect your security internet explorer has blocked this site from download files to your computer". This is not a huge issue, but the problem is that when the user clicks this warning to accept the file, it reloads the page, and all my filters are lost, so the user has to set up all the filters to filter out the data they dont want and then re-download the file.
The interesting thing is that I thought I could track the filters using session variables, so that when the page reloads after accepting the warning message it could be restored, but IE for some reason is not loading the page in the way it should, and so the Page_Load method is never fired when IE reloads it after the user accepting the warning, so I cannot restore the filter settings on the page because I have no event to do it from!
I have searched and searched for a solution.. I have tried changing the mime headers - I am using content-disposition tag set to "attachment; filename=report.zip", I have tried changing the mime type descriptions to different things to see if I can avoid the warning but to no avail. I have tried using an iframe but couldnt quite get it to do what I want it to do, the page was still being refreshed..
I'm using some JS to show some divs.The divs' content is set up in a MultiView control in the server. Depending on certain parameters, I trigger some postbacks to make the server select the appropriate view. The problem is that everything works if I keep the alert(1); below, but stops working if I remove it.
Here is the code. I have a button which its OnClick() calls ShowEditor(), with an element and a type. ShowEditor() makes the editor's div visible after raising a postback to let the server select the correct view in the MultiView based on the type. This works fine. The editor loads and there is a div inside (vwText_Text1) which I'd like to assign an OnClick event to. This only works if the alert() is present.

I am using SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. And I am developing using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5 + ASP.Net + javascript (jQuery).
I met with the following security warning in browser (at the top of the page in IE) when browse a page -- "An add-on for this web site failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts." The function I developed works fine besides the security warnings. I am using IE 8. why there is security warnings and how to resolve?
Here is the code I added to BlueBand.master to refer the js/css files in head section. I am developing a webpart which such script files will impact (i.e. my webpart will generate a div called "tabs" which such below scripts will impact).

I have the following Sub Routine in my vb.net project which runs fine, but I constantly get build warnings:
[code]....
I think it would be best if I used the correct method. I have followed the instructions here - [URL] but it didn't make a great amount of sense.
[code]....
<asp:Image ID="aspImagePreview" runat="server" AlternateText="Preview" Height="190px" Width="290px" ImageUrl="~/file1.jpg" />
when the file file1 has been changed or removed. How can I do one refresh to the item to make it reflect the recent change?
I've got an aspx masterpage and want to include Google's jQuery script. However, to test it's working, I've got the below code in the head of my masterpage. However, none of the content pages display the alert. What am I missing?
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js" />
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
alert("Test Alert");
});
</script>
I should be sleeping but this is really bugging me. I can't get a simple javascript alert box to display in my asp.net project. Hopefully someone can see what I'm doing wrong. My test page is this:
<%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Site1.Master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="JSTest.aspx.cs" Inherits="Proj.JSTest" %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="Header" runat="server">
<script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1-vsdoc.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript" >
$(document).ready(function() {
alert("Working");
});
</script>
</asp:Content>
<asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="Main" runat="server">
</asp:Content>
The masterpage is pretty standard as well. Here's the header part of it (which I figure is the key bit)
<head runat="server">
<title></title>
<%--<script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1-vsdoc.js" type="text/javascript"></script> --%>
<link href="App_Themes/Default/Default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="Header" runat="server">
</asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
</head>

I want to call the javascript function after the maodal popup extender is closed

View 3 RepliesI'm using javascript alert to show a message to the users.
My code is as:
private void ShowAlert( string message )
{
Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(
typeof( Page ),
"alert",
"<script type= "text/javascript">alert('" + message + "');</script>" );
}
and it itself works fine i.e. the message box is shown.
But e.g. with Firefox when the user does not immediately click OK-button on the alert message, the page stays dimmed after the alert box has gone. With IE 8 this seems not to happen (or is very rare).
button click i get the result from the sql server table and fill it to DataTable
if the DataTable in empty means if the query doesn't return any results
i need to show the user "No Records" Message and fade backgrounds stop user to access the control in the background like javascript alert once i click ok button then oni i can access further (like ajax modal popup)
I am using follwing code for alert message
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, this.GetType(), "sp1", "alert('Employee id Exist')", true);

I am working on a ASP.NET website that needs popups in a modal window similar to JS confirm and alert. How would I do this on client and/or server side?
View 2 RepliesIf I use this
window.onunload = unloadPage;
function unloadPage()
{
alert("Hello world");
}
this would cause an alert even when going to pages within the site.
Any way to use this but only when the user leaves the site/domain?
When ever user tries to open an application other than mozilla(fire fox) or IE browser , we need to alert the user telling him please open the application in IE or Firebox browser. And the browser which he has opened the application should stop and we should not close the browser in which he has opened
Ex : like other browser ( google crome, opera )
So first I need to check which browser are they running the application based on that I need to send an alert message.
