I am creating new custom command button control derived from asp.net command button. In my custom control I want to set two images (i.e. one from left and one from right). In center command text will come. I tried background image property using css. But I won't work out for me. The image is coming left but the actual command button style is lost and the second problem is I could not able to set image on right side.
I have a class that is normally compiled into a .dll prior to distribution and used as a component library.
IE: vbc /t:library /out:xyz.dll xyz.vb (User would download then put the .dll in the bin directory and use Imports xyz Dim obj As New xyz ojb.Foo)
There is a need to write a line of content to the class file specific to the user prior to compile.
Is this possible via server side?
I believe my short question would be, can I call vbc.exe from a site hosted with winhost.com and compile a class.vb file through vbc.exe on the server? And how?
I have been able to reach IE via ASP.NET from my account there so I think it may be possible.
I'm dynamically binding tables and sub tables using nested listviews. On the client side I have a piece of jQuery that is toggling the visiblity of TRs witin the tables in order to provide a group expand / contract view option.
On postback I'm obviously loosing my class changes that I have applied via jQuery. I'm wondering what the best approach to maintaining these client side class changes is? I've considered creating a hidden input control per table to store the indexes of the visible TRs at the time of expanding them. The intention being to then look for the indexes during postback / rebinding and add the visible classes to each corresponding element.
Is there a better approach or some native method of passing back the client side style / class change to the server during postbacks?
I want to get the Id of the Anchor tag using FindControl like this HtmlAnchor Anchor = (HtmlAnchor)Master.FindControl("A"); But i cant able to get the htmlanchor Tag ID. I am getting Null Result.
When I write the code for Each HtmlAnchor a in Me.Master.FindControls("link" + i) AddHandler e.OnServerClick, AddressOf OnClick end for I get an error that OnServerClick event is protected and I cannot access it. The question is how do I dynamically add event handlers to HtmlAnchor controls?
i'm trying to set different css class on an action link, it's very easy with a regular one, but i'm strugeling with this one:
[Code]....
i figured out already that using the viewdata["culture"] will not work, since i didn't set a culture in the controler. but i do get the /en/ in the link itself.
the question is how do i do it? i have a localization helper, but can i do it there ?
I have an HTML Helper that essentially renders static content read from HTML files (inside of a vdir). There are cases when the HTML file has a title element defined and in such cases, the current page should use the given title. The content inside of the body should be rendered where the Helper class is referenced in the View.
This is how I call the helper.
<%=Html.StaticContent("staticcontent.htm", new List<StaticContentTag>() { new StaticContentTag() {TagKey=ReplaceTags.MarketName, TagValue = "Austin"} }, Model, true) %>
I'm passing in the ViewModel so that I can set the title and the last parameter is a flag that says whether to force the title or not.
The head has the title defined like this.
<title><%=Model.Title%></title>
I know what I'm doing wrong here by referencing the Model.Title element before even calling the helper. Any ideas on how I can work around this?
I have a calendar (in an update panel, if that matters) that lists events. In many cases the event name is too long. So I dug up a script that will add an ellipsis and chop the string on the client side.
The question is how do I call that script for each event after all the DayRender events have fired. And again after the calendar is updated when a user switches the view forward or back a month?
In the development, it works nicely. Until I deported to production, I realise that the component that use those thing .. it just hang. I found that under BIN when it compiled dewaCorp.EUC.TelcoDB.Data.dll.config and open up that file and turn out nothing.
what I am trying to do is add a method to my gridview's sorting event to add a class to the column being sorted so the user can know if the data is being sorted ascending or descending and on what column. I am currently trying to do it through a switch statement on the sort expression to determine what column it's coming from but I am unaware of how to set the css class.
We are trying to use a BasePage class (which inherits from Page) to populate and set the Meta Keywords and Meta Description Tags. I am using masterpages and below is an example code extract... According to examples on the internet, I could then set this also via the Page Directive using the MetaKeywords and MetaDescription properties, but they do not appear.
I have tried setting the CodeFileBaseClass="MyNamespace.UI.BasePage" but this does not work either. Using debug I can see that the BasePage classes' MetaKeywords and MetaDescription properties are not being set within my content page. I can access the properties but not set them.
how to set the body class of a ContentPage when using master pages?
I want to set the body class so that certain elements of my page are styles differently from each other. e.g. Navigation links to so which is the current page.
I'm having a hard time understanding why the following code doesn't work. I'm sure it's something remedial that I'm missing or not understanding. I currently have a page that asks for user input. If, based on the input and logged in user, I find data from this page already in the database, I need to update the existing records rather than creating new ones, so I set a class-level bool to true. The problem is, when MyNextButton is clicked, PreviouslySubmitted is still false. So, I'm not sure how to make the value of this variable persist.
public partial class MyForm : System.Web.UI.Page { private bool PreviouslySubmitted; protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { MyButton.Click += (o, i) => { q = from a in db.TableA where (a.SomeField == SomeValue) select a; if(q.Any()) { PreviouslySubmitted = true; //populate the form's fields with values from database for user to revise } } MyNextButton.Click += (o, i) => { //the value of PreviouslySubmitted is false at this point, //even if I made sure it was set to true the previous postback if(PreviouslySubmitted) { //update database } else { //insert into database } }
I have a requirement of adding server side variables in client side and other way round. Because I need to set a value from client side using javascript and access the same in code behind page.
Suppose I'm building a StackOverflow clone using webforms ASP.NET and jQuery. The Question page has a question, several answers, and comments under each. Requirements:Users can post new answers and comments, and edit existing ones, without postbacks. No UpdatePanels; the AJAX calls retrieve just the JSON they need, not HTML fragments. The page loads with all existing answers and comments in place (no javascript needs to run to read the page).
What I'm trying to figure out is how to do this without having to maintain two sets of markup (one that's bound on the client using some form of jQuery templating, and one that's bound on the server using traditional WebForms).
I reordered some items in a listbox using Javascript. When I read the items in a postback in the code behind (ASP.NET), the order is in the original order. How do I get the same order as shown in the screen after Javascript manipulation?

I have a hidden variable and its value is being updated using javascript(client side) which I make a call from server side code. After making the call I am not able to retrieve the updated value from Server side variable. I went through this forum [URL] but not able find a way how to implement functionality with IFRAME. I am trying to call the client side code and retrieve the updated value from server side in page_load event.
