I have 2 textboxes and a submit button inside a .net composite server control. I tried to only postback when submit button is clicked. I set autopostback = false for both textboxes. But either one still trigger submit button's onclick event by hitting "Enter" inside textbox. How can I stop postback by enter key?
I am trying to write some code where it sets the imageUrl of an ASP Image from the codebehind (on a timer), but it does not change it on my screen (its changing in debug view). I assume this is because I need to postback everytime I change the image. Problem is, I cant trigger the postback from CodeBehind so that it will change. How do I do that?

I am so used to win32 forms -- Just started again with ASP websites.
Now I want to access the value of the "TxtItemId" control in the code-behind through a postback. How do I go about doing this ? BTW, this is for a scenario where a person will drag an item from a panel into a shopping cart and I need to capture the Id of the dropped item and trigger a postback after the drop to update the quantity of that item in the cart.
I have around 8 user controls on a page with a form in each of them. I have a dropdown list that allows you to select a form, with a selectedindexchanged event that hides the current form and shows the requested form.
There is some javascript that needs to fire when each form loads. Now, when you click on a form for the first time, the javascript fires as it should, but if you click the dropdown to change the form, then click back to a previous form, the javascript doesn't fire (because the user control is already loaded).
Is there anything I can do to trigger a postback, or reload/refresh the user control whenever an option is selected from the drop down?
I have four server-side panel controls that, when clicked, trigger some jQuery animation. I'd like them to also trigger some AsyncPostBack as well. Is there an easy way to code that server-side? I know that the Panel controls don't have a Click event.
I could always trigger the AsyncPostBack via JavaScript, but that seems less than ideal.Secondly, (and I don't think this is possible), right now I use a QueryString and cookie to track a PreferredCampus selected. We'll be migrating this to be a subdomain. There's no way to change the URL without full-page postback, correct? What I can do is change the cookie setting via the partial-page PostBack I'm describing above, and then have the subpages catch and redirect to the correct subdomain.I'd really like more information about the first part.
I am have a page with a couple of dropdowns which serve as criteria for a select SPROC. Once a selection is made in a drop down a panel is shown which contains gridview whose rows have been returned by the select SPROC.If you close the panel and change the drop down selection and then redsplay your panel the data from your prior selection is still displayed in the gridview, unless you page to the next group of records.
I am working on a datagrid that has a column with checkboxes... the checkboxes should be checked when the page loaded. The problem is that whenever I trigger a postback, all the checkboxes will be unchecked!!
I don't know what is causing this or what should I do to prevent it from unchecking the checkboxes.
I have a UpdatePanel which is having a Datalist inside it , and in datalist i have a country dropdownlist whose autopostback = true , now it is causing postback which i want to trigger , but i am unable to set it as AsyncPostBackTrigger inside update panel because update panel won't find the dropdownlist as it is in datalist.
How do I conditionally trigger a full page postback from a link button inside of an update panel?
I have a custom control that contains its own updatepanel with a link button nested inside of it. When the link button is pressed I want its event handler to have the option of either letting the control update as normal or doing a full postback on the page.
Here is the control hierarchy:
Page Custom Control UpdatePanel LinkButton
Event handler Pseudo code:
LinkButton Click Handler Begin If is a partial post back AND a full postback is needed Page.DoFullPostback End If End Handler
Note: I aways need the partial postback to happen. I was considering injecting a __DoPostback in the controls markup but this seems hacky to me.
I have a set of accordian divs (powered by the prototype library) in an asp.net page. I would like to save the state of the accordian, so when a postback event occurs, the same div is open rather than reloading the page entirely and opening the default div.
My plan was to set a page control value with the ID of the open div using the div's toggler click event function, and then fire a click event after postback calling that same div (using the value of the control holding the div ID) as the target. I'm not sure how to fire a javascript click event from vb.net however, and this sure seems like a lame workaround.
1) can you tell me how to fire a javascript click event from the vb.net codebehind page
I have 2 asp:DropdownLists with an OnSelectedIndexChanged attribute. When that is triggered I would like to run a jquery funtion that would let the user know the data is being processed. How do I jump to my jquery function and is there a way I don't have to use the unique id?
I have a ModalPopupExtender that needs to be hidden whenever the user clicks anywhere else on the page, window, or scrollbar. I have a function and it works if i set it to a div tag but what about when the user clicks the windows scrollbar?
function HideList() {$find("<%=ModalPopupExtender1.BehaviorID%>").hide();
I have an UpdatePanel on the page which I'd like to trigger using javascript.First of all my code perfectly works if it's in a website not being inheriting from a masterpage. Now when you put exactly the same code into a website which inherits from a masterpage, the UpdatePanel wouldn't get fired anymore.
I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?
I'm at my wits end on this one looked/Searched/Played/Experimented and I need your help if you can. This page is going to be primarily used on a mobile device using Win Mobile 5 Need to Accomplish:Prevent Postback(serverside) of Page using JavaScript (Postback's slow down the page on mobile device)
