Installation :: Unable To See Cookie In Request.cookies?

Jun 11, 2010

I set up my 1.1 and 2.0 applications to run on the same website (in different app pools) But the application written in 2.0 code cannot read a cookie on the request coming from a different system.Similar code reads the cookie on the 1.1 website.If I deploy my 2.0 application on a different machine, the code works fine and gets the cookie. Here's the code:

IsNothing(Request.Cookies("HRWebSession"))

In 1.1 application the above returns false, and in 2.0 above returns true. On debugging and watching the value of response,cookies, I dont see the cookie. Since the same application works fine on another server, I am assuming there is some error in my setup. I am using IIS 6 on W2003 r2.

Read Flash Cookie From Javascript

Oct 27, 2010

We have a flash video that was created for our project, we dont the source so we have to work around the compiled flash file. We are going to host the video on our domain and the video creates a sol cookie (flash cookie) file to store how far the user has proceeded though the video. So my plan is to access this cookie to see how far the user has progressed and then fire an event when they have finished the movie.

I have been googling for some help but haven't found to much. I have found out that its possible to do in javascript and I have found some .net sol file viewers but haven't seen any examples I can get my mind around. I have watched the traffic that gets created with fiddler and every time the next button is clicked a new request is fired with the swt file that is being accessed. I would also be happy with tracking every time one of these swt files has been accessed as well.

Read And Process Data From Flash Cookie

Dec 12, 2010

I want to create a flash swf file that will store a token in Local Shared Object. What do I need to do to read that token and look it up in the database on the back end? Is this possible at all? here is a possible scenario:

User visits my web page. A token is generated on the server and stored in the database. Token is then saved in LSO. User leaves the site (maybe shuts down his computer) and comes back later. Token is read, located in the database and the user is recognized (lets say that token is a foreign key that links to other user data stored in the db). I researched this for quite a while and all I find is that flash can use LSO to store read data for flash movie. Does this mean that the data can not be accessed by the server?

Cookies - Unable To Redirect Page?

Mar 23, 2011

I have grid on my asp.net page. grid having 3 columns with hyper links. both links working properly. but one is not redirecting desired page. I tried in different browsers as well . but got different error : as

In Mozilla Firefox :The page isn't redirecting properly description In Mozilla Firefox :

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. In Google chrome : `This webpage has a redirect loop` description In Google chrome :

The webpage at http://myserver:425/(S(c0kr2xuftxiwhm25cm4vjg45))/mypage.aspx?type=2&userId=8 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

since i tried lot of solutions over net , as i tried cleared cookies from browsers, added

<sessionState
cookieless="false" // True also tried
timeout="10">
</sessionState>

in web config file but problem is same there. I checked link is properly redirecting desired page. I mean i checked spelling of my link it is perfect. what else i have to try to resolve it ? where should i am making mistake ?

<ItemTemplate>
<a href="mypage.aspx?type=2&userId=<%#Eval("userId") %>">Go to my page </a>
</ItemTemplate>

WCF / ASMX :: Read Authentication Cookie In Other Technologies Like JAVA?

Jan 12, 2011

I am having a scenario, where i need to decode ASP.NET FormsAuthentication Cookie in other language to accomplish Single Sign-On.

I am having a ASP.NET website, that also has WCF Authentication service. But I have just come know that even Java and PHP Application are also going to use my Authentication Gateway to authenticate user and so enable Single Sing-On.

I am done with the same in .NET application but to perform same in non-.NET techs, I need to decode FormsAuthentication Cookie of browser. FormsAuthentication Cookie are Encrypted so there must exist a algorithm that can decode it or a kind of dll that I can load in Java and read it.

Unable To Read Connection From App.Config

Apr 16, 2010

I am unable to understand. Hopefully someone out there has faced a similar issue and knows the fix. I am creating DAL for my project using class library. In my class library I want to store the connection string in APP.Config file and I have created and saved it.

The problem is when I try to access my connection string by name using ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[Name], it returns null. When I try to access connection string using number like ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[0] It returns a strange connection string i.e. (data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true)

I want to clearify here that I have not deployed the website yet and its on my local file system so there is no link of this library with IIS.

Javascript - How To Get And Set Cookies / Getting Different Values For The Cookies In Different Pages?

Aug 17, 2010

I'm handling cookies using JavaScript to store some values in my asp.net web application.I use document.cookie to save some values (converted into a lengthy string). But i want that value to be accessible across all the pages in my application.When i try to get that value from a different page, i get the values pertaining to the document in the current URL.

In short i save the value in the cookie in http://myapp/doc1.aspx and want to retrieve it in http://myapp/doc2.aspx

So is document.cookie is pertaining to a single document scope? How can i save/read cookies across the site?

Update.This is how i get and set cookies

function getCookie(c_name)
{
try{ [code]...

But i'm getting different values for the cookies in different pages.
