I'm using an asp.net user control with a tree view. When I load the page I want to scrool the user control to the selected node in the tree view. I'm using js function .ScrollIntoView(true). But this is scrolling the entire page (not only what is inside the user control)

and on this page I have another user control (ucPageControl), I need to find a way of setting the value in ucControl2 from ucPageControl. Is this possible at all?

i'm about to go through my entire site now wrapping that function around every little text variable one by one and it's going to be a huge pain in the butt

i have create an asp.net webapplication for which it has a master page with a 1280x1024 image as background,
so the whole application is within the 1280x1024 resolution, the thing is i tried to open the application from an ipad and when i am trying to scrolldown it shows me hell.it keeps pulling up....
i.e, when i try to scroll down, the page pulls up back again..I dont know whats causing this ...

- user2.ascx: 2nd user control containing a detail view of row.
In page.aspx i dinamically load the repeater inside a user1.ascx.
after i want to dinamically load the 2nd user control also in default.aspx by a button inside a user1.ascx.
How i can do this? I can't load user2.ascx inside user1.ascx but only in aspx page.

But I'm getting emtpy docklayout in receivingPage.aspx.
I have a page with three tables, three charts and some other stuff. When I scroll up or down on the page it tries to jump to some other places, scrolling is not smooth. After a few minutes I also get this error popup: Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. The same behavior is noted on all pages with charts.

View 6 RepliesIn web application, i tried scrolling the window vertically by increasing a y axis height to 500 with a javascript that is attached to OnClientClick event of a asp.net button control with id Button1. The script i have used is

If i run this page and click that button, the page scroll is not working properly. when i put alert inside that script and debug, i found that the page is actually scrolling to 0,500 but again its rendering to its normal position because of some reasons. Overcome this issue and let me know the reason behind that?
I put a GridView control in a Panel control so that the GridView's rows can be scrolled vertically. With selection of row enabled for a Button field, I am able to select any row with the selected row background color highlighted. Problem is when you scroll down to a row that is way pass the Panel height and select the row, after postback the GridView will render to show the top rows which are visible within the Panel height. So the selected row in it's background color cannot be seen.
View 3 RepliesI'm building an ASP.NET MVC site where I want one of the Views I return to be automatically scroll to a certain point.The part of the site where I want this to occur works sort of like a forum - there are "threads" that contain "posts". A user can either browse to the whole paginated thread or can browse to a specific post, using its ID. When a user browses to a specific post, I want to show the regular thread interface, then browse to the page that the post is on and scroll down to the post.
Is it possible to somehow automatically scroll down to a certain point when returning a View from an action in an ASP.NET MVC site? If so, how do I do this?NOTE: One solution to this problem that I've found is how Stack Overflow and the other Stack Exchange sites do it: each answer to a question can be linked to by adding #ID to the URL. If it's impossible to automatically scroll down when returning a View, I would implement this instead, but I don't understand how to use such an approach when there are multiple pages and the post in question isn't on the current page.UPDATE:Based on Chris' answer, I'm currently planning to implement it with the URL looking like this: example.com/forum/[ForumID]/thread/[ThreadID]/post/[PostID]#[PostID]. Here I know the issue what's going on.This issue is occurring because i am using AJAX to partially load the contents of the tabs after the initial page load so the error is occurring AFTER my master page has been loaded.What I need to do is provide a javascript function to handle the error after the ajax call has returned and redirect to the error page.How to write this Javascript and where Do I need to write this?

I'm having a problem with entering edit mode in Gridview. When I click edit, it shows it in normal mode (labels) even though RowCommand does successfully fire.
But I have to click it AGAIN to get it to show the TextBoxes of 'Edit' mode.
How can I fix this? Is there a way to force a 'postback' on the entire page, or re-render a control? (i'm assuming thats the problem)
Here's the pseudo code:

A click of the 'edit' button returns the gridview with the normal labels. Then when I click it again, the TextBoxes show up.
