Using Custom HttpModule With Ajax Enabled (ScriptManager) Webform?

I've a custom Httpmodule which handles PostAuthenticateRequest & PreRequestHandlerExecute events.
However, when I try to use the module on page with ReportViwer (which needs ScriptManager) I get a bunch of browser errors such as following and the report viewer does not work as expected i.e. it doesn't show any result.
ASP.NET Ajax client-side framewook failed to load.
'Sys' is undefined
Syntax error (WebResource.axd)
'Type' is undefined (ReportViewerWebControl.axd)
If I comment out the module from web.config everything works as expected (obviously without the module code).

I have a user control with both an UpdatePanel and a ScriptManager.
Some pages in the system have a ScriptManager of their own, and need to include the UserControl.
This throws the "You can only have 1 ScriptManager" exception.
If I remove UserControl's ScriptManager, I'll get 'UpdatePanel1 requires a Script Manager" exception.
I've tried to modify the UserControl to dynamically include it's own script manager if none exists. But all the methods I've used before involve adding a delegate to Page.OnInit-- which won't work, since the UserControl Init fires first.
Because the system designers here like making my life difficult, I can't create a MasterPage, or a BasePage for the system in inherit off of. I'd be stuck going to each page an adding a ScriptManager before the UserControl on each of them. Is there any way of, in the UserControl, detecting if the page has a ScriptManager, and if not, adding it dynamically in a way that makes the UpdatePanel happy?

I'm creating a new control and I want to embed some webmethods but somehow I can't get it to work.
The webmethods are simple.

as you can see its only to encode and decode some text.
I try to add this webmethod with a custom contol like this

I don't get any error but when I test

Then I get the error
Fout: 'DavyQuyo.Text.Encoding' is empty of no object.
I really have to know how I can add the service from my custom control in a dll into my scriptmanager so I can call it with javascript.

I have an HttpModule and I'd like to choose the HttpHandler for the current request, is that possible? Also web.config is not an option because the condition is not based on path or extension. My googling skills have failed me, no matter what keywords I use all the results are "IHttpHandler vs IHttpModule".

I have written an Http Module that hooks onto the Response.Filter property of the current request and does various replacements within the HTML before it is sent to the client.All the work is done in the Write method which is overriding Write in the base class Stream.
The Write method is called multiple times for a single response - the HTML seems to be written to the output stream in chunks. My problem is that I don't have an efficient & reliable way of telling if the current chunk is the last chunk (for why I want to know this see below). The only way I have come up with is to check if the chunk contains a closing html tag - but this is not very efficient or reliable.
The reason this is needed is that the module must add the "Refresh" HTTP header to the response, but only if the HTML fulfills certain conditions (and there are certain conditions that mean the header must not be added). So, only when the last chunk has been seen does the code know if the header can be added or not. So, I either need a test for the last chunk, or on each call to Write I add the header if the current block of HTML passes the test (if it has not already been added) or remove the header if the current block of HTML fails the test (if it has already been added).
So, is there a better way to test for the last chuck OR is there a way to test for a particular header being in the response and delete it (there doesn't seem to be a way to do this - only to append headers)?

I'm writing a custom class library that contains custom controls (not user controls).I have some embedded javascript files that need to be registered on the page.Now since this is a class library, how do I detect whether or not to use a ToolKitScriptManager or ScriptManager?Page.ClientScript is a ClientScriptManager, but would I do if the page has the new ToolKitScriptManager?

Using Visual Studio 2008, I need to create a custom web form that when picked acts like the web content form, by providing a dialog that lets you pick a master page. I have looked through the webform.zip template and thought I had a clue, but trying different combinations has baffled me as it either doesn't appear or doesn't work.
Also when you set the project type to Web and sub project type to CSharp it doesn't appear, so I don't know if this part of the cause, because I would of hoped that the SupportsMasterPage element would of caused this dialog to appear, if it is a web item, but no luck. Frown
p.s. I have used my googling resources to the maximum so unsure what to do.

I have an application that allows the user to define custom fields that will later show up on a form for viewing and editing. The user defines the field type, label, length and other custom attributes about a field and these field definitions are stored in a database. The fields are loaded into an array of CustomField objects at runtime. Later when the page is rendered I want to be able to display these fields and if in edit mode allow the user to edit the fields.
what is the easiest way to throw these up on the webform for display and allow editing if edit mode is selected?

So far, I've seen (and I'm using the following) scripts to show/hide a div or other controls depending on another control in ASP.NET
$('[id$=myRadio_0]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').show(); });
$('[id$=myRadio_1]').click(function() { $('[id$=myDiv]').hide(); });
and of course, my div in html like
<div id="myDiv" runat="server" visible="false">
and that works fine when the user selects either option of the radiobuttonlist. However, when I assign that radiobuttonlist a value of 1 or yes on my Page_Load on code behind, that isn't (and probably can't be) caught by jQuery, and my div remains invisible even though the control has a value of Yes/1. So, do I need to set the visibility of that div from code behind, or is there a way in jQuery to force a scan of these dependencies after i've set the values for the main controls in code behind?

At work we currently have a custom in-house built winforms app for the business users to view reports. It has role-based security and several administrator functions.My boss is thinking about getting me to port this app to webforms.My question is, are there options other than custom built winforms and webforms apps for deploying/viewing/administrating Crystal Reports at an enterprise level (role-based security, easy report deployment, etc)? I have a form which I am using the RoundedCornersExtender, If I am using the ScriptManager control I am getting the following error-Error: AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll.I googled it and found that one way to overcome this is to use the ToolkitScripyManager, I replaced the ScriptManager with the ToolkitScriptManager and I dont get the above error anymore. On this same form I am using an UpdatePanel control but from some reason I am not getting a partial render but always a full page render.

I am trying to update a listbox on the server from javascript using Ajax PageMethods. How would I reference the listbox control inside the Shared Sub, I get Error 156 Cannot refer to an instance member of a class from within a shared method or shared member initializer without an explicit instance of the class. The reason I want to do it this way is because when I updated it on the client the code-behind did not have the updated count.

I had this problem: I created a WebUserControl that used som Ajax stuff - hence it needed a ScriptManager.
The problem was that I couldn't add it to the WebUserControls html code (the .ascx file) since the WebUserControl sometimes was placed into a parent page that already had a ScriptManager, and I couldn't add a ScriptManagerProxy since the parent page sometimes didn't had a ScriptManager.
Alot of people just use a ScriptManager on the MasterPage, but this fails if: one doesn't use a MasterPage or one uses iFrames etc. that uses stand alone aspx pages, like Thickbox might do...
Here's the solution:
in the WebUserControls code behind (.cs file), put this:

I just downloaded the latest (3.5.40412.0) version of Ajax Control Toolkit and in order to update the existing version, I have replaced <asp:ScriptManager with <ajaxtoolkit:ToolkitScriptManager. The page loads with an javascript error:

I'm finding that the scriptmanager and the updatepanel and basic implementations of AJAX for ASP.NET. I'm just wondering whether these were required to use AJAX and partial page update and referencing handlers such as button1_click on the server code page ?
Also if i can ask another question, I'm also wanting to know whether the updatepanel can support feed-in like facebook ? What I'm wanting to do is have something that updates the screen (like the update panel), and items within this panel contains links. When the user clicks on the link it shows a modal div, giving the user options to do some updates. Once the user clicks submit, then this makes a call to the server to update the details then also update the panel. Within the panel I also want to move some of the div elements using javascript (causing the drag and drops to save to the database).
