The funny thing is, when I change it to: txtURL.Text = row.Cells[3].Text; then I can close the modal popup, but unfortunately it is not decoded.

C# - Client-Side Validation In A Modal Popup?
Oct 1, 2010I've got a gridview/formview, master/detail relationship going on. When I click a button in my formview (item template), I display an ajaxcontroltoolkit modal popup.
On this popup there is a textbox (several, actually). I want to validate the data in this textbox (at least six digits, so far I'm using a regex validator) before I dismiss the popup.
The validator works, but I can still dismiss the form by clicking OK. What I'd like to do is have the ok button on the popup disabled until the data is good.
I have tried fiddling with some stuff in javascript, but I couldn't make it work, as there seems to be some issues regarding finding controls in a formview.

When User will select Option-1 a panel should open on modelpop up to take Option-1 Detail .Simillarly When Option-2 is pressed another panel should open where User Can fill data. User Ca Fill only single option either OPtion-1 or 2 .

The example below demonstrates the type of calls I am making to the modal popup extenders. Basically using the Datalist item command, the datalist commands are responsible for triggering my modal popups.

They all work fine after postbacks except the "activityReport" case (the last one). The only difference with this modal popup is that it contains a user control and all the postbacks are happening in the user control. So the problem is that in the last case whenever a postback happens in the user control then the modal popup is close.
1. If I separate the modal popup and place it in a page all by itself and trigger it to .Show() through a button click in the page behind code then the modal popup doesn't close. See below example.

Jan 5, 2011I have a user control and inside that user control I have a image button on whose click I am opening a modalpopup extender(which is another user control) I am populating all the values in drop down list and getting all the information i need on the form. The user and go and save the information required on that web form and clicking on cancel would exit the form which would bring the user back to the main user control.
The problems faced:
1.Problem 1: Not refreshing On clicking on tree view one of the nodes I am calling the reload function of parent user control as well as the user control present as popupextender. This click would refresh and fill in the values from the database for user to view and edit. Now when the user clicks on the image button another user control opens up where he can edit the entire values of the form and move back and forth in the records I have put update panels for every block and for the buttons. He can save the information. But when he exits and form and reopens it after a while the values of the form are retained the values which are not saved to the database but the ones which were selected so it is retaining them and not refreshing. How can I force the refresh everytime the button is clicked for modalpopup extender user control.
2. Problem 2 enable/disable buttons I am not able to enable and disable the buttons inside the extender the buttons are in the update panel as well as for the different sections of the form.

Oct 4, 2010I am using a modal extender pop up with dimensions 400px by 400px and in the top right corner I want to put a image cross that when clicked will shut the modal pop up.
I know to make the cancel control to the buttom image but I have seen on some sites the image that seems to sit half in and half out the modal pop up extender DIV box which the effect I like more than an image internal to the DIV of the modal popup floated right corner.

May 18, 2010in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine.
whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses.
i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX

Jul 16, 2010I am using VS2010 and .NET4 for a web app. I have a script manager/update panel that has a couple of grids.
The client just leaves the page opens and views an updated grid every 30 seconds or so.
I want to refresh the grid by calling the server side method to load the grid, but not load the whol page using meta refresh or similar (too much screen flicker and unnecessary bandwith).
Is it possible to set some timer using javascript or something and call a specific server method to refresh controls?
