View 2 RepliesWorking on a DNN website. Long time VB programmer new to ASP and Web Development.
I have a page with 2 modules on it one to select records and the other to show records details. there is also an add button on the select module for adding new records. the detail module has a tabcontainer with 5 tabs on it and if the user is adding a new record I want to disable the first tab. At all other times I want the user to have access to the first tab. The user clicks a button that uses OnModuleCommunication to start adding the new record. All my code is server side so when they click the button I clear all the fields and enable them all for editing but I have not been able to set the tabcontainers tab to enabled=False
[Code]....
and if it is in the correct location I do not want the button on the page to be seen like it is I want to call it from the server side so the user has no choice.
I'm trying to insert some html 'div' tags inside a tabcontainer from server side. I haven't seen anything similar on the net. Here's the situation:
I have the following TabContainer on a form:
<cc1:TabContainer ID="TabContainer1" runat="server">
<cc1:TabPanel HeaderText="Person">
<ContentTemplate>
<div id="Test">
</div>......
How can I acheive that? If it's not possible, what other alternatives do I have? The most important requirement for me is to allow the user to remove the data by clicking on it.
I want to do something a little bit tricky here. I want to call a server side fonction from the javascript. I know it can be done but I get some errors. This is my Javascript fonction where I want to call the server side fonction:
[Code]....
And this is the code in my VB page:

View 4 RepliesI am using an update panel in my application. Inside the update panel i am trying to trigger a html button, which in turn should invoke a server side function after which i need to invoke a client side function.But the client side function is getting invoked first where as the server side function is not getting invoked at all.
Here is my code
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="embedcodepanel" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional">
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="btnembedurl" EventName="onclick"/>
</Triggers>
<ContentTemplate>
<label id="lbl_embedcode" class="hide">Site Embed Code:</label>
<textarea id="embedCode" class="embedCode hide"> CreateEmbedURL('<%=_redirectUrl%>')
i have used PageMethods to access the server side functions in javascript , but now my problem is that with pagemethods your controls will not go throught the full page lifecyle and these leads me to have "Object not set for an instance of an object" error. Now can someone come with a differnt approach without using pagemethods. What i want is to call a server side function , i dont want to pass any parameters to it
View 6 RepliesWhat I want to do: dispose of a session upon detecting an "OnBeforeUnload" event in the client. I know it doesn't fire 100% of times (90% accuracy works fine for me)
Here I saw how to do it with ajax, this system, however, breaks down with ajax: I can't use it at all.
I have a simple Tabcontainer with 3 tabpanels. I want to load some content to the different tabs the first time they are clicked (selecting the tabs). I have tried using Protected Sub TabContainer1_ActiveTabChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TabContainer1.ActiveTabChanged but that only works, WHEN there has been changes to the content.
So my question is: How do I raise a server side event like loading a droplist when the tab is clicked?
I have developed a web application which contains aspdotnet treeview control. In this treeview control has binded with some database value.. that controls has one parent node and more than one child nodes for each parent node.
my problem is here, when the user clicks the parent node, I need to fire a javascript onclick function before the server side event(SelectedNodeChanged) called..
If I provide javascript to the parnet node when it is binding, then I could not fire the server side event(SelectedNodeChanged).
How to provide onclick javascript event for parent node in treeview control even the parent node has SelectedNodeChanged event.
I have a Usercontrol and I have Gridview in it. Name of my control is Search.ascx.Now I have a Page Home.aspx where I have Placed this usercontrol in One Tab of TabContainer of Ajaxtoolkit. Now when I click on Edit Link from GridView I want to activate another tab and I can do that in .cs file by registering Event.
I want same thing to be acheived using Jquery.
What is the best way to reference controls from the clientside from within a TabPanel? I've tried using jQuery and javascript both has failed me. I've tired using the find method, but still no luck... SchoolSectionID refers to a div element within one of my TabPanel controls.
for (var a = 1; a < 4; a++) {
var SelectControlID = "";
var HiddenControlID = "";

View 7 RepliesI have a gridview inside a tabcontainer.I'm programitically binding to the gridview. All works fine, data is displayed. And after databinding I'm dynamically setting the tabcontainer height to that of the gridview so that the gridview doesn't overlap the tabcontainer and look all funky.This all works fine doing this...tabcontainer1.height = gridview1.heightUntil there is no data returned, in which case I get a really small tab container.Bascially if there is no data, I want the tabcontainer1.height = 500, and if there is data to set it to the height of the gridview.I tried this (plus other variations) but can't seem to get it to work.
[Code]....
Tabs.Tabs.Item(1).Font.Italic = True
Tabs.Tabs.Item(1).BackColor = Drawing.Color.Red
i have the above code for changing the background color of a tab of tabcontainerbut the color doesnot change
Apparently, the TabContainer's default tab alignment is vertical now in ASP.NET Ajax Library Beta (0911) (build of AjaxToolkit.dll 31106) instead of horizontal (build 30903).
So how do I change tab-alignment from vertical to horizontal?
I'm using C#, asp.net and ajaxtoolkit
I want to set up menu item links such that the tab index is sent in the query string parameter. I tried setting the ActiveTabIndex in the Page_Load event and that doesn't change it at all. I tried using the javascript and I think because this tabcontainer is contained in a UpdatePanel's ContentTemplate so that javascript is not able to find it? How can I do this?
<script type="text/javascript">
// function SetInitalTabChanged() {
// var leaderTabs = $get('<%=TabLeadershipMain.ClientID%>');
// leaderTabs = leaderTabs.control; //
// leaderTabs.set_activeTabIndex(0);
// }
function SetInitalTabChanged() {
// $('<%=TabLeadershipMain.ClientID%>').set_activeTabIndex(0);
var container = $find('TabLeadershipMain');
container.set_activeTabIndex(0);
}
With javascript above (both) I would get the error below
Microsot runtime jscript error:Object doesn't support this property or method
Or if use the commented out function it will return leaderTabs = null
I know that I can receive an javascript object from the server via ASP.NET AJAX using Json. But I am not sure how can I send an javascript object from my client-side javascript to my server-side code. And if I can, how can I extract this object in my server-side code and access its members?
