Is it possible to select a folder rather than a file with FileUpload control? If yes, how with code sample in VB/C#.
Why I need this is because, I want to read the contents of files in a selected folder a once instead of having to select the files one-after-another.
i have some problem here, i am working in web page, there is some required for folder path when select file in fileupload control,
like in IE FileUpload1.PostedFile.FileName, i can get full path
but not in chrome and Mozilla browsers,
any one know how to do it...

I got creating album feature, it require user to enter data of new album name, description, and upload a profile picture. I can do everthing perfectly fine, but wat i wan to do is, if the user did not select any file to upload, which means they do not wan to put a profile pic for that album, i wan to take the "noimage.gif" from the folder and set it to the FileUpload path, because i wanted to store that image into database, therefore i need to retrieve that image first and then convert it into bitmap and then to bytes with a method im using now

I have a News manager asp.net page where I can add/delete/edit my news.I choose to upload a news image using the files upload control. and in the same time i insert the image name in a database field.Sometimes the same image I use it for diferent news so I need to upload the same image again and again, and this duplicate the image.
So I need a code to browse my "image" server folder to select one of them if it is applicable for any news, and if there is no one suitable I will browse for one from my computer using the file upload control.

Currently, the FileUpload control enables a user to select only one file for upload. I have seen examples where people have modified this, so that uploaded files are stored in a list to provide a "mass upload" functionality. However, the user can select only one file at a time. This is NOT what I want, the user should be able to select multiple files at a time, or select a folder with which I should be able to upload all the children images. Is there any way I can do this or has someone done this already and i'm somehow missing it?

I've been tasked with creating a page where the user can do the following in this order:
1. browse to and select a jpg image
2. preview the image that the user just selected
3. if the user is happy with the preview then click the GO button to load the image to the Image folder.Does anyone have any good examples or sample code of how to do this?

I have a webpage which I would like the ability to upload files to be stored in a database. Here's the layout of the page:

The update panel is configured as such:
ChildrenAsTriggers="True" EnableViewState="True" RenderMode="Block" UpdateMode="Always" Visible="True" Runat="Server"
The reason I have the update panel outside the Tabcontainer is so that when switching between tabs, the screen doesn't flicker with refreshes, etc. But as a result, I can't get the FileUpload working properly. The FileUpload1.Filename is blank, so it errors out.
Is there anyway to get this working properly? I've tried the latest AsyncFileupload within the control toolkit, but this caused all kinds of problems with my pages so that's out of the question. I tried an iFrame too, but this also didnt work properly.
