I have read many pages on detecting mobile phones but my question is for setting the screen size for this. I can easily made the screen the same size as my mobile phone but on some devices you still have to zoom in to see it. Is this mainly on the device side that needs to be set? Is there any way to tell the device to show the page zoomed in?
I have a DropDownList being filled from a data base. Now, when I select the drop down arrow, is there a way to set the size of how many lines to show initially ?
Like: DropDownList2.Attributes.Add("Size", "16")
I cannot find an event when clicking the drop down arrow.
Here's the scenario:I have an asp.net webpage which displays dynamic data in a gridview.I'm using a master page to display the header and footer of the page, and this gridview is being displayed inside a div in the contentplaceholder.
The Problem:What I want is that the size of the page that is displayed remains constant for a user and must be equal to the size of their browser's available display area and the content being visible by scrolling the div.Sort of like the header and footer remain at the same position and the content inside it is scrollable.
I am trying to start a new mobile web application project but cannot find the mobile page template originally available on VS 2005, nor can I get the mobile web controls to display in the toolbox even though I have then all selected in the tool-> select toolbox items why? and what can I do?
I am using PageMethods to send a few parameters to a webmethod in my codebehind. The method runs a stored procedure and uses the results to build a string that I am returning from the method.
Everything works fine until I try to include too many records in my results..
Once the results I am trying to return hit about 70K, the pagemethod times out even though it is taking about 1 second to process the results.
Is there a buffer limit or limit on the size or results returned from a pagemethod and if so, where can this be set or changed?
Is there a setting in the web.config somewhere to handle pagemethod buffer size?
I want to know that how can i make fit the page according to the screen size.
I am using master and child pages.
Before I already put the same question in the forum few months back but didnot get perfect answer. The solution I got from the forum is but it is not working fine:
[Code]....
I have published my website on intranet and checked on different sized monitors but the pages are not fitted according to the montior size.
Although there are a number of floating menu tuts out there, I can't seem to find one that will simply let a div tag stay in one position with relation to the screen size. I have a div tag in the middle right of my page that must basically stay there even if the user scroll down.
this is my css for the mobile version I was just wondering how I can change the size of the textboxes for the mobile version to make them smaller but don't change on the computer version? if you go here on the mobile version youll see what I mean URL... the code for the form is inside this class tag.
<section class="left-col"> </secion>
PHP Code:
/*--------MEDIA!!!-----------*/@media screen and (max-width: 478px){ body{ font-size: 13px; }}@media screen and (max-width: 740px){ nav { width: 100%; margin-bottom: 10px; } nav ul{ list-style: none; margin: 0 auto; padding-left: 0px; } nav ul li{ text-align: center; margin-left: 0 auto; width: 100%; border-top: 1px solid #878E63;
I want to set the coulms size of all the columns in the table in the DB based on the maximum width/size of one of those columns of that particular table That is if I have three columns Name(nvarchar 50), Address(nvarchar 70) and Description(nvarchar 100), then I want Name and Address to also be nvarchar 100, can anyone give me the code for the same in VB.
Not sure if theres a way I can assign a certain size to this either by css or by Jquery? Or if I can do it directly in my C# code using something like img.Style?
EDIT:
Just to clarify my css is like so:
div .test { width:90%; z-index:1; padding:27.5px; border-top: thin solid #736F6E;
[Code]....
So how would I use the below answers in this combination
I am a newbie in web development I came from win form environment. how to set tabcontainer (ASP.Net Ajax Tool) width size according to users desktop screen resolution?
I am exporting a HTML table to excel by sending the data as a HTML Table string and setting the content headers:

I have an asp.net website I wrote just for mobile devices. They all are running Windows Mobile 6.1 with Internet Explorer but they are different brand of devices such as PSION and others. On one device the site works great. I am using SetFocus in the code behind to set focus to buttons and textboxes after postbacks depending on the situation. On the other device the controls do not get the focus set.
Is there another method i should be using? I think I can set focus using javascript but can I call it at the end of a sub in the code behind? I'll have to look that up now.
