Sending An HTML Encoded String In The Query String?

Jan 5, 2011

We are sending an HTML encoded string in the Query string. It was working fine on IIS 6 (windows 2003). We have recently moved the website to Windows 2008 (IIS 7.x). Since the move any Query String that contains "+" sign i.e., "%2b" gives error on the server "404 -File or directory not found."

C# - Getting The Domain From A URL Encoded String?

Nov 24, 2010

Another beginner question, I'm afraid... I was wondering if someone could tell me the easiest and most efficient way of getting the fully qualified domain name (e.g. www.google.com) from a UrlEncoded string in ASP.Net (C#).For example: http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dsome%20things%20i%20searched%20forWould give me: www.google.com(Or basically anything where I can check the domain to make sure it's correct.)I'm guessing the first step might be to UrlDecode, but since this is how I'm getting the string, I thought I'd mention it incase it's easier Encoded.

Encoded String Length Greater Than Max Specified For User?

Apr 4, 2011

I'm using ASP.NET with sql-server. I have an area where the user can enter text of a maximum amount. I encode this text as a good measure but the encoded length can be greater than this maximum amount when I try to insert it into the database.

Special characters are encoded on 3 characters. I can't show the user that he has exceeded the max amount of characters because from his perspective he hasn't. I also can't set the database field to the worst case scenario (being 3 times my max amount).

Deserializing A PHP Json Encoded (json_encode) String With .NET Webservices

Feb 22, 2011

I am really struggling deserializing a PHP json encoded string in ASP.NET.I am using nusoap and CakePHP 1.3 on the PHP side and mvc.net 4.0 on the web service side and everything was working well. However, I couldn't figure out how to pass a complex array as one parameter of the webservice, so I had the idea of serializing it as json and passing a simple string. So far so good...

$args['products'] = json_encode($booking['Booking']['prs_products']);

C# - Cannot Pass A Input From Text Box To A Query String And Then Keep The String In This Box?

May 28, 2010

I have a simple ASP.net page:

<form id="form1" runat="server">
<p><asp:TextBox id="input_box" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:Button Text="OK" runat="server" OnClick="run" /></p>
</form>

I want to send input from input_box to a query string, and then keep this input in the input_box when the page reloads.

That's the code behind page:

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
input_box.Text = Request.QueryString["input"];
}
protected void run(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string url = string.Format("?input={0}", input_box.Text);
Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsolutePath + url);
}

Problem is that when query string is not empty, string from input_box cannot be passed to query string. How to correct it?

Mobiles :: How To Use Query String With Local Html File In Windows Mobile Web Form

Mar 16, 2010

I am trying to display a local .html file in a web page. The file uses javascript to display some information about my phone. In the executable, I am retrieving two values out of the registry. I would like to pass these values in a query string (I think that is the correct terminology). Something like file://\Program Files\TestTest.html?type=newtype. I have attempted this with using webbrowser.navigate, but that is giving an unhandled exception when it tries to pass the URI string. Obviously, I have no experience with this and am using the wrong method. There has to be a simple way to open a new webpage in a form and pass it this type of string.

how to implement such a function? I have been attempting to implement this with Visual C# using the .net CF for Windows Mobile.

DataSource Controls :: Sending A String To Stored Procedure Using An IN

May 18, 2010

I am confused here as to how to handle this. I have a stroed procedure that using the IN clause like so:

[Code]....

Now, partners can be either a single partner ID like so: 12345 or it can be many like: 12345, 22222, 33333Here is the sqlDataReader from my code:

[Code]....

When partner_list contains only one partner id like "12345" it works fine. If it has more than one then the DataReader states that there are no rows in the reader? I also tried to send the dealer list as a string with ticks, like '12345','22222','33333' but that doesnt work either.

MVC :: Rendering Encoded Html?

Aug 13, 2010

I cannot seem to get over this problem. Im sure it is just a simple newbie question but I just cannot find the right answer on my own.

Im using MVC 2 and ASP. NET 4.0 to biuld simple CMS. Im storing encoded HTML in XML file which then i am passing to front page controller for display.

I understand that before inserting HTML from XML into the page, it should be decoded using HttpUtility.Decode() function.

[Code]....

I expected that this sould result in inserting decoded HTML into my index.aspx page. Then browser could render my decoded content for example in bold face.

What happens is quite awkward. In page source I have encoded HTML but it renders HTML with tags. For example I see "<strong> Lorem ipsum </stong>", instead of Lorem Ipsum.

How To Replace Html Tag In Html Editor With Specific String

Feb 9, 2010

anyone knows how to replace a html tag in a string with specific characters:

e.g.

string s1 = "<span style="italic">inluding <span style="bold">other</span> tags </span>";
string s2 = "<span style="italic">inluding </span><span style="bold">other tags </span>";

i want to replace "span" with "bold" to "bOpen" and "bClose" and to replace "span" with "italic" to "iOpen" and "iClose" in both c# and javascript.

i did use regular expression to do that: res = Regex.Replace(res, ".*?", replaceHtmlBold); but it cant match the nested tag and none-nested tag at the same time.

How To See A Query String In FireFox

Jan 19, 2010

In IE 7, I can right click on my page and select properties and (usually) see the query string that was passed to that page.

How do I see this in FireFox? I am having a bug where I should be passing consecutive numbers in the query string, such as deal_ik=1,2,3,4,5 etc but 5 is missing. So I want to examine the query string that is actually getting passed.
