ASPxGridview / Trying To Find A Control In Edit Form ?
Jul 15, 2010
I'm trying to Find a control in my edit form just before I hit the submit button on it(custom), however it isnt returning any value entered in the memo, even though I have inputted some value. It seems like its resetting. Its not binding to anything.
Code:
Dim Memo As ASPxMemo = CType(ASPxGridView_BranchQueue.FindEditFormTemplateControl("ASPxMemo_ResubmissionRationale"), ASPxMemo)
I'm using DevExpress ASPxGridView edit form, using default edit form. However when I open the edit form in IE6 and click "update" to insert the record, it causes a JavaScript error that says "type" is null or not an object". However it works fine in IE7. I am puzzled and unsure of how to resolve this. Code is below.
I have an ASPxGridView shown to the user with an edit command button. When the user clicks the edit command button the selected row will change into the edit form.In the edit form I have a control which when clicked will do a custom callback through javascript, the custom callback handler will then change a value on the selected row and call UpdateEdit() to save the changed value and return to the regular grid view layout.
However the new value is never saved to the underlying datasource, in fact if I debug the DataSourceControl's ExecuteUpdate method I see the updated value in the oldValues collection and the values collection has the original value. The javascript that is called from the control in the editform:
javascript:grid.PerformCallback("CloseOrder");
The custom callback handler which runs on the server:
protected void gdOrders_CustomCallback(object sender, ASPxGridViewCustomCallbackEventArgs e) { if (e.Parameters == "CloseOrder") { var row = gdOrders.GetDataRow(gdOrders.EditingRowVisibleIndex);[code]...
I need to select my field data using a 3 step drownlist process (shown in the following screenshot):
But I can't find a way to get the Model SelectedValue and SelectedItem when Select is clicked. After it's selected it has to be filled in the Autofield on the background, and when close is pressed the original value has to be reloaded.
I have a basic list view, in the edit mode I have a dropdown list, and a checkbox, I want it so that if you choose "yes" from the drop down box the check boxs becomes enabled. I know I need to find the control but I keep getting object refrence error with this code.
[Code]....
the listview renders its layout / item template fine but when I click on edit to send it to edit mode it fails to find the dropdownlist ddlQA1YNM which is a bit ironic cause its the ddlQA1YNM that is making the call to ddlQA1YNM_ondatabound. Now it could be with the fact its on the databound stage. Not sure how that plays into the stack. I call ondatabound to determine what the dropdownlist value is and set the enabled status according on the load into edit mode.
I am trying to target a control in a Detailsview in my codebehind, however I am getting an error "Name "control" is not declared" for example, i have a FileUpload field in the edit template of the detailsview, which I am trying to access as
FileField.PostedFile.SaveAs("directory")
I also tried adding a reference to the Detailsview id such as DetailsView1.FileField.PostedFile.SaveAs("directory")
I have Telerik RadGrid with a custom edit form. In my edit form there is a RadDatePicker to which I have added a custom footer template containing a 'Today' button. In the OnClick event of the button I call a Javascript function which takes the control ID to set the selected date. However, because the control is inside the edit form there is no variable created for it and the compiler throws an error when I try getting the client ID. The RadDatePicker is declared with:
The error I get is CS0103: The name 'ControlName' does not exist in the current context on the line referencing the ClientID. Is there another way in which to get the ID to pass to the Javascript function?
I have a drop down list (created during form design) with auto postback enabled. And I use AJAX to prevent 'visible postback'.
When a user choose an item from the drop down list, the system will then perform a postback and created a set of form control's such as label, drop down list and text box for entry.
Then, I will have a button (created during form design), and when I click on the button, i want to find for the form control that are created after the post back, but I cant find them!
I wonder if those form controls are render to the web form?? But I have no problem finding the drop down list that is created during design time.
I have a page where I have a tab container and four tabs. the problem is on the first tab "manage quote request" I have a Gridview with the quote request general informatin listed and have a template field created with a link button to databind to the formview quote details. the porblem comes in when after I click on the select linkbutton. the Formview loads right. Then Whe I try to click on the edit linkbuttin in the form view I have to click it twice to change the mode to edit.
Hello all i have this little issue getting this to work, i have a dropdownlist in asp.net inside a formview and jquery cant find the control im guessing because its inside a form, this is what i got and it works on another page without a formviewi get this errorName 'Country' is not declared
I wish to use the same form for adding and editing records within a database using a partial view. I understand that this is fine as the standard Html.BeginForm automatically output the correct html depending on the action that is being used (Add / Edit). However, I need to out said form with some extra HTML attributes. There does not appear to be an overload that allows this to happen without also specifying the ACTION and CONTROLLER names. If I hardcode these then surely I cant use the same form for edit and add automatically? Or am I missing something?
I have an Edit form that utilizes the following ViewModel:
[Code]....
SUserDetail, User and CUDetail are LINQtoSQL classes in my [ .dbml ]. What the above ViewModel allows me to do, is provide a nice and neat Edit form populated with data from the above 3 objects.
However I am stuck on how to handle the HTTP Post for the Edit Action.
I am currently working on my first ASP.NET project - a basic blog site. I based it upon the default project in VS and the NerdDinner tutorial. I can create posts, view posts, etc.
I now want to write the mechanism to comment on a post. I created a CommentForm.ascx which allows a comment to be created, and then added
[Code]....
into View.aspx (the page to view a single post). However, this View inherits from the Post model, so this doesn't work. How can I have a view which displays one model (the post) with a form to edit another (the comment)?
I simply need to edit each row independantly. However upon applying the Edit, Update Cancel I get the following.Â
I suspect this is because I am using the GUI and this will require some code per column?
Error[HttpException (0x80004005): The GridView 'GridView1' fired event RowEditing which wasn't handled.]Â Â System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.OnRowEditing(GridViewEditEventArgs e) +1610245Â Â System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.HandleEdit(Int32 rowIndex) +43Â Â System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.HandleEvent(EventArgs e, Boolean causesValidation, String validationGroup) +611Â Â System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) +205Â Â

I have two InlineEditBox.NET controls in a template field inside a GridView. When displayed in the GridView, the first row is OK, but starting with the second row, the controls are automatically displayed in edit mode when the page loads, and I can't figure out why.
So what changes should i make to the jquery.openid.js to make it work?
I mean in the first case the $this refers to form.openid:eq(0) In the second case the $this refers to #text.openidd and the form is never submitted.
I guess something like this one $this.FindParentForm exists in JQUERY, but i have no clue!
I added the div tag as enclosure for the elements. The form contains other <li>'s etc that jquery messes with. And i would not like that! That's why in my post i believe that the work has to be done in the jquery.openid.js file... something like
Can someone tell me how to edit/update/delete record on the Form View?

I have a form that resides inside a jQuery UI dialog, the form have some fields such as first, last name, etc... and also allow file upload. I can't use Ajax.BeginForm() since ajax doesn't allow upload (or does it?), so I have to use the regular Html.BeginForm() for my form to call my ActionResult. But I need to do some validation on the server and displays the response within that form, or displays a message if the form successfully posted. How do I displays the message in that jQuery UI modal dialog?
