View 1 RepliesI've got a problem with my title displaying with the default template. It gets cutoff in firefox and IE 8 (in standards mode) by the content div.
View 1 Replieshere is the functionality which works in IE browser but not on firefox and chrome. I'm using
ModalPopUpExender.
I have the following controller:
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq; [code]....
When I click the action link in IE the controller code runs but the div is NOT updated. Do it in ANY other browser and it works just fine. Is this (yet another) known problem/bug with IE??
this code does not work in any other browser other than Internet Explorer, I could tell that happens, I've seen that in MVC2 was a known bug, I thought I updated to MVC 3 this was corrected, but still the same.The problem itself is that it shows as null ActionResult and I have no idea how to detect, the code I use is:
<% using (Ajax.BeginForm("CmdApply", new AjaxOptions { HttpMethod = "Post", UpdateTargetId = "RenderPartialId", Confirm = "Seguro de continuar", OnComplete = "showCurrentPage", OnBegin = "ShowBeginSearch", OnSuccess = "CloseDialogSearch" }))
{%>
<input id="GoPageSubmit" type="submit" name="GoPageSubmit" value="<%=Resources.s2olMVC.Search_GoPageTitle %>" />
<input id="SubmitNext" type="submit" name="SubmitNext" value=">"/>
<input id="SubmitNextLast" type="submit" name="SubmitNextLast" value=">>" />
<%}
%>
In ActionResult, the two n submit it recognizes, as if none, shown in Null There is another way to implement this type of submit? In Internet Explorer everything works fine.
If i use signs like ë in the HTML Editor, in IE, its ok, and works. But if i use ë in firefox in the same page with the HTML Editor. If i press safe the ë is converted to: (copy past doesnt work well, but its a square if you put [] to each other). But how is this possible? And how can i solve this problem? In IE its working well, but 50% of the users of the system i build are using Firefox. So it should work in all editors.
View 4 Repliesi'm trying to make this work for several days but it just doesn't work.
this is my code:
aspx page:
[Code]....
webservice:
[Code]....
this was downloaded from this website.
the problem is that the page loads fine but no autocomplete occurs.
In web application I'm using devexpress toolkit, and have the right (correct) result in IE only (using also some java-script), on clicking event for example is working in chrome and safari, but in Firefox and Opera not
The grid view are not showed properly in division in any other browser, except IE!
I understand that probably this is not good forum for asking this question, but I'm a bit dissapointed, and I don't know where I can found answer to my question. Here is my problem. I've got a page that has dynamically loaded content with innerHTML like below:
[Code]....
Everything works fine .. since I wanted to have gif shown when page content is loading. But now I would like to after loading innerHTML content to execute javascript function to create pieChart of something. The problem is that I have to use document.getElementById()function, but it does not works with content loaded dynamically. I mean, Lets say that inside page loaded by innerHTML we've got a form which id="A" when instead pieChart() in above code i will use document.getElementById('A') it does not return my form. I've checked this in IE7 with no effect, ffox also does not seems to work. The only one browser that works at the moment is Chrome.
I am trying to implement a feature for my web site for library access. Normally users access the site with http://www.famnet.net.nz. This => a welcome/logon page, you may decide to register, etc etc. I programmed access from http://www.famnet.net.nz/library.aspx?userid=testlibrary. This URL (or one like it) is intended to be a link on a web page within a library: clicking the link opens the site with the user already logged on as "testlibrary", with some differences in function compared with an individual logon. This all works perfectly in my testing, using Firefox. However it does not work with IE7. I programmed diagnostic statements that should appear from all paths: but these don't appear with IE7 (but they do with Firefox).
View 5 RepliesI have a asp.net page which is checking a UNC path on a listbox item change event using Directory.exist method.
This works fine in Internet explorer.
But when i use firefox and debugging this method returns false even though the directory exists.
What could be the reason for this strange problem.
this is the code
Directory.Exists(@\SYSMHARSYSxxxxxxFilesRegionError)
when i browse from IE and put a breakpoint here it returns true.But in FF the same code returns false.Its happening only for a UNC.It returns true for a local path(eg Directory.Exists(@C: est).

I am finishing up my asp.net web application targeting .net 4.0. I am using VS2010.
I have deployed my application to a host server and now I am testing with multiple different browsers.
The first issue I ran into comes down to the following code:
[Code]....
If I use IE, login and click something that causes the above code to execute then currentUser is NOT null. However doing the exact same steps in FireFox currentUser is null, even though I know I am logged in as my name and other indications on the webpage confirms I am.
------------------------
Update
----------------------
Since originally posting this thread I have done more testing.
I placed a test button on a random page and the button click will update a label on that page indicating if the currentUser is null or not. This button works both in IE and in FireFox. Also both running locally and running on the host server.
----------------------
So now I am looking at what is different about the one place it appears not to work so let me try to make this clear.
I use a component called Uploadify to upload images into a database. That component calls a page/request called ImageUploader.ashx which inherits from IHttpHandler. Here is all the pertainent code from that file.
[Code]....
The problem is when calling from FireFox, imgProvider.Status = null. This is a problem because the ImageProvider will try to insert a record into my database and the column for Status cannot be null so that causes it to crash. I made the change to detect if Status = null and return the user id if so as an error message to help me debug. To understand how Status is set you only have to look at a little code in the ImageProvider class:
[Code]....
You will notice when the ImageProvider is created it calls ClearFields(). Inside ClearFields() is where it gets the currentUser and if not null it sets the UserID property, which case the setter for UserID must set Status to either Approved or Pending. Whats happening is ONLY in FireFox, and after more testing, ONLY on the host server does currentUser = null even when I am logged in. but in other areas of code I can get currentUser and it works, also this works fine with IE, it also works fine with FireFox running locally. So I have icolated it down to this specific piece of code, when using FireFox, when running on Host server.
I was successful in displaying text on webpage but in firefox, it does not display the text at all. If i see the page source, it has text in there. but why doesn't it display? In Chrome and IE, it works fine.
Edit:When i used firebug, it looks like the content is behind the screen. I just guess. What you experts say on this?
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="Server">
<div>
<table id="Table2" width="150%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" [code]....
I am a new to WCF. I have written ajax to use a web service before, but on this project I am trying to use ajax to WCF.After I build the project and wcf using ajax, I receive the return successfully. But, 10 or more minutes later I don't get a return, the ajax calls the error function, and the fiddler returns nothing.
If I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I receive the return successfully again.
I'm using ckeditor in my page and it's work fine, except when I'm sending email. The mailbody is empty in FireFox, in IE it works fine. What can it be? Here is my code

I use the following code to write cache header on *.png requests:
response.Buffer = false;
response.BufferOutput = false;
// Emit content type and encoding based on the file extension and
// whether the response is compressed
response.ContentType = MimeMapping.GetMimeMapping(physicalFilePath);
if (mode != ResponseCompressionType.None)
response.AppendHeader("Content-Encoding", mode.ToString().ToLower());
response.AppendHeader("Content-Length", count.ToString());
// Emit proper cache headers that will cache the response in browser's
// cache for the default cache duration
response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.Public);
response.Cache.AppendCacheExtension("must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate");
response.Cache.SetMaxAge(DEFAULT_CACHE_DURATION);
response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Now.Add(DEFAULT_CACHE_DURATION));
response.Cache.SetLastModified(lastModified);
But every time I refresh the page which contains the PNG URL, it will post to web server again. It seems that the cache header not work, and worse, it make the browser cache not work too. I am using asp.net mvc.
when i click the link button in Masterpage the window has to close. This function is working properly in IE but in fireFox or chrome or Safari Other than IE in all browsers postback is happening.

I have a dropdown list placed in Update Panel the issue is that when i am trying to make selection from the dropdownlist i am not able to select the items under it(i.e. after clicking on the dropdownlist the items get displayed but when i move the mouse over it the dropdownlist gets closed).
This issue is observed in Fire Fox only (works fine in IE and Google Chrome).
I am using forms authentication in asp.net application. This is working fine in internet explorer. Opening application in firefox is also fine but when i login in second instance of firefox, application in first instance logs out. Following is my code for creating ticket and cookie.
FormsAuthenticationTicket objTicket = new
FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, sUserName,
DateTime.Now,
DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(60),
false,
"");
HttpCookie objCookie = new
HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName);
objCookie.Value = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(objTicket);
objCookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddHours(1);
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Add(objCookie);
I am developing an asp.net website on my local box using VS2010 Ultimate edition. Suddently, when I made Firefox as my default browser, none of the data or control show up!! The same pages work when I use IE8 and Opera, but not with Firefox or Safari. Usually I keep changing the browsers, to make sure that the pages work in all the browsers. Strangely, when I click on the "Outline block level elements" on the Firefox, the controls and data show up, and are highlighted! Once, I unselect the option, they are gone again!
View 3 RepliesI am clicking one linkbutton to check the validators clientside in the panels. This works well in IE, but not in Firefox. When I click the button, it does not even hit the validateLength function
