I have a asp.net list box control in which i populate items using Jquery by using some code like ..
$("#MylistBox").append("<option value='somevalue'>Someitem</option>
dynamically . but in code behind when i use MylistBox.Items is always showing Count 0 no matter how much items add.

So I have a number of dropdown select list controls populated as part of a repeater. They might contain overlapping data, meaning that the first d d list control will have selections:

Second one:

Third one:

and so on.
So what I would like to do is to srart removing the duplicate items from the reset of drop down controls once the user starts selecting those. I intend to use jQuery for this.
I got a list of checkboxes on my form, and a jquery script that catch a button click to get all the selected items (in an array) and post to a controller action.

I have a situation where I want to show the selected records out of total records for a product of an employee
1) There is a checkbox list bind to <List> of objects from object datasource (For total items in list)
2) Now I want to check the selected items for a particular record in this list
3) For this purpose I have another list of <List> selected items returned by data access layer (For selected items for that employee )
4) How do I bind the selected objects with the total items list ?
5) In spaghetti coding model it was all too easy just by binding the checkbox list with a sql data source and running a for each on form load

View 1 RepliesI'm designing my own custom control that contains a .NET dropdownlist. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to populate my dropdownlist with listitems placed in a placeholder? For example:

This doesn't work because the DropDownList control only allows ListItems as child controls. But, I want to do something similar to this so when the user includes my control on a page, they can do something like this:

I do not know how this has started but when creating new pages in a web project using vb.net coding, when I add any control such as a button or something else and then do to the vb code page for it, I click the dropdown on the left and it does not show the controls. What would cause this? I am using a master page with the page and the controls are going into the content sections. If I add a line like:

then I have events. But in another peoject I do not have to do this. Is there a reason why? Maybe a setting that was changed? I'm using VS2008 in vb.net language.

I've got a dropdown whose values i filled based on some control selection, when I select buy new option it fills in with the new price and if I select buy old one it fills with the price of old items.now filling of drop down is working fine but when i press the submit button I try to get the selected Item but it always return seectedIndex as 0?
View 4 RepliesI am outputting the content of a page from a subroutine. The weird thing is, the code behind is writing this to my aspx page. <asp:Hyperlink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" CssClass="HoverMenuText">more</asp:HyperLink>
When the page is viewed live, the hyperlink is not a hyperlink because using the browser to "View Source", the html shows the exact same line! It wasn't converted to the format like "<a id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_HyperLinkHover">HoverMenuTest</a>" So for some reason, the server is not converting this asp control to an html control. Any ideas why it wouldn't do that?
I'm adding a dynamically built set of checkboxes to an asp.net page from the code behind with something like this in a recursive fashion:
pnlPageAccessList.Controls.Add(myCheckboxControl);
The controls show up fine on the page, but they don't show up when I view source, nor can I access them from the code behind.If I add the controls in the on_init method, they work. But I have some business rules driving changes to the list of controls itself that require I fire the add method elsewhere. Has anyone seen this before? I'm away from work so I can't copy the exact code.
I have two terrible ideas for how to get it working. One involves some jQuery and a set of hidden controls holding a big array of integers; the other is run the method on_init AND on my other events so the controls at least show up. Both smell like ugly hacks.
I am using Jquery and Ajax to add new record into the database. After successfully insert the record, I want the listview I have to automatically append the previous added record.
The record can be added successfuly into the database and the only problem is I want them to be display in my listview after I click submit button. So is there any solution for this?

how to debug the wcf code. Means I have added refernce of wcf code in my web appilcation's code and called that wcf function in my web application code. Both applications are on my local machine. I have put up break point in web application and also put up break point at the function in wcf. Can break point swicth rom web application to wcf code.? im tryin to upload files to the database using the FileUpload. the upload take place. when i download the file again ( word document, excel document.. a text document (.txt), a winzip file) , it turns that the file is corrupted and cannot be opened.. an image file or an mp3 file doesnt present this problem. my application is developped usin vb.net 2010 and sql server 2005 as the database..
