HyperLink Added Via Code Shows Up Same In Html

I am outputting the content of a page from a subroutine. The weird thing is, the code behind is writing this to my aspx page. <asp:Hyperlink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" CssClass="HoverMenuText">more</asp:HyperLink>
When the page is viewed live, the hyperlink is not a hyperlink because using the browser to "View Source", the html shows the exact same line! It wasn't converted to the format like "<a id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_HyperLinkHover">HoverMenuTest</a>" So for some reason, the server is not converting this asp control to an html control. Any ideas why it wouldn't do that?

I am redirecting between two pages, when I use a hyperlink I get the Page1 in the UrlReferrer field, but using Response.Redirect gives it null.
AFAIK both of them act similarly for a redirection.

I have a Mail class set up on my site that should be sending an email to the user after they make an account. It will include a link for them to click on that activates the account - I have success in sending the email, however my hyperlink shows text only and does not link to anything.

I just put yahoo for testing purposes. So basically I see "Click on the link below to activate your account" and then "Click Here" with no link.

I have an asp.net site. It has an order form which is accessible at https://secure.example.com/order.aspx. The links on the site do not include the domain name. So for example the home page is 'default.aspx'.The issue is that if I click on a link like the home page from the secure page, the url becomes https://secure.example.com/default.aspx instead of http://www.example.com/default.aspx.What's a good way to handle this? The scheme should automatically work using any domain name based on where it's launched from. So if the site is launched from 'localhost', moving away from the secured page, the url's should be http://localhost/...

on a server, I am trying to deploy a website. Originally, the page styles did not work and the some of the .gif and .jpg images didnt show up. I fixed the css problem by adding a http handler mapping through IIS. I tried the same thing to get the images to work but that didn't fix the problem. If the website was fully deployed im pretty sure the images would work so I dont want to change their paths (same with css). The handler mapping i added for css was for "*.css" of type system.web.staticfilehandler. This is the same type i tried for .jpg and .gif. I don't know specifically the purpose of system.web.staticfilehandler because msdn info is very short.

i have a datalist in my aspx like this:

when i do this in the code-behind:

everything gets rendered in one column (vertical) but i want two colums... so i do this:

I have created login page dynamically by using texteditor. Which includes 2 texboxes and 1 Submit button.
Im saving this html in database and loading this html in the login page. Means adding this html to DIV tag innerHtml. My question is how to findout these controls in the code behind page and how fire submit button click event. Or any other alternative to do this?

I'm adding a dynamically built set of checkboxes to an asp.net page from the code behind with something like this in a recursive fashion:
pnlPageAccessList.Controls.Add(myCheckboxControl);
The controls show up fine on the page, but they don't show up when I view source, nor can I access them from the code behind.If I add the controls in the on_init method, they work. But I have some business rules driving changes to the list of controls itself that require I fire the add method elsewhere. Has anyone seen this before? I'm away from work so I can't copy the exact code.
I have two terrible ideas for how to get it working. One involves some jQuery and a set of hidden controls holding a big array of integers; the other is run the method on_init AND on my other events so the controls at least show up. Both smell like ugly hacks.

how to debug the wcf code. Means I have added refernce of wcf code in my web appilcation's code and called that wcf function in my web application code. Both applications are on my local machine. I have put up break point in web application and also put up break point at the function in wcf. Can break point swicth rom web application to wcf code.? I have a page with a table and two button with the names (Submit and Add Rows) When I click on Add Row a new row will be added to a page(This is achieved using javascript), when I click on submit button I will be doing server side validation. If I found any error the error will be displayed on the page. During this process the controls which were added by me were loosing its state. As a result I need to add the rows once again and need to fill the data and click on submit button. Can any one let me know how to avoid this and see that the controls donot loose their states. So that there is no need for me to create rows once again if any validation fails on the server side.

right my issue is creating a MailFormat.Html hyperlink which includes a string which exists on a .aspx page. The problem i am having is that the hyperlink i created is only active in MS Outlook 2007 and i need it to be active for all versions. I'm unsure of how to create an active hyperlink which has 'strSRFNo' in the hyperlink name. i will paste my code in to explain it a bit better.

I have a Master.aspx and a Page1.aspx and Page2.aspx, all in the same directory.
Master:
<asp:HyperLink NavigateUrl="Page1.aspx" runat="server" Text="Page 1" />
<asp:HyperLink NavigateUrl="Page2.aspx" runat="server" Text="Page 2" />
both the Page1 and Page2 gets rendered from above master page.
all three are in a vertual directory which is mapped as a subdomain here are the details:
Virtual Drectory: dirvir
Domain: dirvir.example.com
now when I open any of the page say:
http://dirvir.example.com/Page1.aspx
the Hyperlinks are rendered containing
href="../virdir/Page1.aspx"
href="../virdir/Page2.aspx"
respectively.
On click of them it takes me to
http://dirvir.example.com/dirvir/Page1.aspx
http://dirvir.example.com/dirvir/Page2.aspx
where as I wanted it to be
http://dirvir.example.com/Page1.aspx
http://dirvir.example.com/Page2.aspx
I can achive the same by using <a> but i need them on the code behind too so thats not desired.
Note: using <a> with runat server also behaves in the same way HyperLink does.

I have a HyperLink on my usercontrol in which I set onlick event dynamically on the server side like this:
this.Attributes["onclick"] = string.Format("javascript:alert('{0}')", base.NavigateUrl);
The problem is that when Asp.net renders the page, it ends up with something like this
<a href='...' onclick="javascript:alert('TEST')>LINK</a>
which obviously is not valid Javascript. Using " instead of ' wouldn't help neither, the generated HTML is alert("TEST")

im tryin to upload files to the database using the FileUpload. the upload take place. when i download the file again ( word document, excel document.. a text document (.txt), a winzip file) , it turns that the file is corrupted and cannot be opened.. an image file or an mp3 file doesnt present this problem. my application is developped usin vb.net 2010 and sql server 2005 as the database..
