- Httphandler: Could Not Load Type 'Upload'

I'm still trying to follow this sample:

Under Visual Studio it's working fine but, when I try to publish on IIS it doesn't works. This is the situation: under my Website I created a Upload.vb class under App_Code folder that implements IHttpHandler, IRequiresSessionState.
On web.xml I wrote this rows:
<remove verb="POST,GET" path="Upload.axd"/>
<add verb="POST,GET" path="Upload.axd" type="Upload"/>
On Page.aspx I added this code:
<FlashUpload:FlashUpload ID="flashUpload" runat="server"
UploadPage="Upload.axd"
FileTypeDescription="Images" FileTypes="*.doc; *.xls; *.pdf; *.docx; *.xlsx"
UploadFileSizeLimit="0" TotalUploadSizeLimit="0" />
I followed the sample and my class has not namespace. I read on internet that this error happens when IIS is not able to find the class.

I've run into a problem with WCF REST Service. I get:
Could not load type 'System.ServiceModel.Activation.HttpHandler' from assembly 'System.ServiceModel, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
when running inside of the IIS in an ASP.NET 4.0 AppPool.
The problem seems to occur only if:Running inside of IIS
When ASP.NET Comaptibility is enabled
Running in Cassini - no problem it works properly. Running with ASP.NET compatibility off - no problem it works.
It appears that it's some sort of handler version conflict trying to instantiate the wrong version of the handler that in turn tries to load an older version of System.ServiceModel, but I haven't been able to trace this down.
Anybody seen anything like this before and have any ideas how to track this down further?
I've looked in ApplicationHost.config and the master web.config files for System.ServiceModel and HttpHandler references but no luck.

suppose we have a example.exe file. we first put that file in a new folder and then zip that folder with any zipping software, Can we prevent that zipped folder upload in a website?

I keep getting the above error whether I ran my asp.net solution from the IDE or publish it on IIS. I always Build before each one of these steps.
I have user controls inside web pages and have 4 different projects that each reside in its own folder.
I have a login page and main user page that are one project then the user on this main page can go to 4 different areas which are all separate projects in their own folders. Links on this page to these sections are as follows:
./MyYFolder/MyYMain.aspx
If user clicks they get the error. Bizarrely if I locate the page MyYMain.aspx in the root folder and change the path in that main page to:
./MyYMain.aspx
As a bright spark noted, my problem isn't that I'm getting no error under the 2nd scenario. My problem is that I'm getting an error under the 1st one.

I have started a new MVC application (I am new to MVC and ASP.net in general) I am trying to write a custom provider class that overrides the MembershipProvider class.
The project compiles fine. In the web.config file, I have added the following line:

I'm not sure what's happen, but now i've just upload a new dlls for my mvc website and i'm getting the following error
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'MyProject.MvcApplication'.
Source Error:

I've have rebuilt the application locally and and works. So the issue is just on the remote server. I have uploaded all DLLs

Is there a way to instantiate and use a usercontrol (.ascx) if given you have its Type (ie. typeof(MyUserControl))?With regular asp.net controls like a textbox or a dropdownlist you can just make a new instance and add it to a controls collection. This doesnt appear to work for User controls. While you can make a new instance and add it to a collection, and have all of its events fire, it will not actually render to the page. Typically you would call Page.LoadControl() with the path to the .ascxThis presents a problem if all you have is its type. How can you get the path to the .ascx to give to the LoadControl method. Ideally I would also like to not have to have a reference to the Page object

I have had a project called Articles and the project complies fine. I have it running as a seperate site on my machine and it works like a charm under IIS7. When I start the project from VS2010 in debug mode (by pressing F5) it lands on a page that says: "Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'Articles._Default'."
I i however change the path in the browser from [URL] Home it works fine again, indicating that my routing table is bust but it was working yesterday and I did not change any route, The error page also says: "Please do not delete this file. It is used to ensure that ASP.NET MVC is activated by IIS when a user makes a "/" request to the server." That idicates to me that it went to default.aspx...right?

I just deployed a test MVC2 application to a shared host and get the error Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.UrlParameter' when firing up the application.This is a bin readable application as my hosting provider does not yet have MVC2 installed, however, they assure me this should run OK. Also this is a barebones application, basically the default project structure published for testing purposes.Any suggestions as to resolving this?

I am developing a C# VS 2008 / SQL Server 2008 website. Although this same code compiles in the Project version, the website version does not compile. Many of their files are the same so I do not understand even where to look. The only compile error I get is:
Could not load type 'DataMatch'
in my DataMatch.aspx file. Is the problem in my web.config file? How do websites differ from projects in VS? All four of these files reside in same directory.

I'm a newb to ASP.NET and I made an app in VS2010 using NET 4.0 (Working all fine in debug mode)

This started as Could not load type 'Global' error. After I tried a few things and getting no where I deleted the Global.asax file and now the error is Could not load type '[namespace].???'Where ??? is the class name of every page I try to load.The web site (when executed within VS2008, local dev computer) works fine but once published (with no errors) and deployed to the server gives me Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
I did install elmah and I was able to get more details for this "generic" Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
elmah reports a HTTP error 500 :
System.Web.HttpException Could not load type '[namespace].???' ->
System.Web.HttpParseException: Could not load type '[namespace].???'
I have checked the "basics"

UPDATE #1 I did deploy the site to a different DEV computer (configured IIS, virtual folder, etc.) and it works. When I use the same published code on the server, get the generic Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
UPDATE #2 I created a test web app. One form (Default.aspx) with a button. The click event does a Response.Write("Hello World"); I moved this app to the server and guess what, I get the Could not load type TestSite._Default
UPDATE #3 According to the fusion log viewer, these two websites are attempting to load CppCodeProvider and VJSharpCodeProvider, but I have no references to any of these. After a Google search, I found this post.I checked and I have no references to JAVA files.

I'm receiving a System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException with the message Could not load type 'XxxSiteMapProvider' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'.
I'm trying to unit test a separate class in the the same project as the XxxSiteMapProvider custom class. The error message indicates the proper point of the App.config for picking up the custom SiteMapProvider and I did a search across the solution and the class name is not duplicated anywhere. (I saw from searches that conflicting class names may cause this error.)

I recently downloaded the mvc 3 RC and I am receiving a type load exception everytime i do a fresh compile and start a debugging session. The error is
System.TypeLoadException crossed a native/managed boundary

I can click ok and my debug session continues working as normal. I can close the session and restart without making any code changes, and it will open and work correctly. But, everytime I close, make a compilable change and rerun, I get the message.
