In Customizing Menu, Trying To Get The Menu Below The Header Such That It Cov?
Feb 25, 2010
Currently using MS Visual Web Developer, Asp.Net 3.5, C#.Please read reply 3. I updated the question to reflect upon how to achieve the required feel for the menu.
In my project I create .aspx pages by using master page. But in menu bar when I click the button that I want to navigate, header and menu bar loaded again. I want that only content of the page will be load. How can I do this?
How do I eliminate the error Using Menu.IncludeStyleBlock requires Page.Header to be non-null (e.g. <head runat="server" />). When I add runat=server, I lose my style sheet for the entire app. This beganb failing when I upgraded to vs 2010 and .net 4.0. Worked fine on vs 2008 + .net 2.0.
I've got a repeater I've bound to column names that are filtered, as they're applied (using sessions currently, I might change this to loop through the columns looking for filters now that I really know how the grid works).
I've got a button next to each filtered column name that is to remove the filter from the RadGrid.
<asp:Repeater ID="repCorpFilters" runat="server" OnItemCommand="repFilters_ItemCommand"> <HeaderTemplate> Current Filters: </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate>
Is there a way to add/delete/update the default classes (for instance AspNet-Menu-WithChildren,AspNet-Menu-NonLink ) of the html generated by the asp.net menu or treeview control? I am using CSSAdapters so the menu control renders in a list format instead of table format.
For the ASP.NET Menu Server Control whose RenderMode is set to "List", there is an "Orientation" property which decides whether the menu would render as a horizontal or a vertical menu. I have compared the two HTML source code and was unable to find out which part of the HTML/CSS code set the orientation of the menu(unordered list).
I am trying to style the menu control to allow the menu items to float to the right of the container, however I am unable to do so as whenever I am styling the a, ul or li it keeps getting overidded by asp.net and floats everything left.
What I want is to show menu items Administrator or show user menu items.Show menu items using login...How I can do it with role provider, control menu and siteMap in masterpage?
I need a help in creating a vertical oriented Menu control with dynamic url's set in there Navigate Url property. Also i need to set the menu items as enable/disable in two different modes say edit/new.
We have to develop an application which has a Vertical left pane menu control which displays all the web pages (A,B,C say). Now if user is in page A and filled some data and clicks on menu control to go to page B, all the data in page A needs to be saved. Also if all the required field in page A are not filled and user navigated to page B, there will be one ! sign after the menu so that user can understand that there some some more fields need to be filled up.
We are planning to place the menu control in the Mater page. Please give me some direction to do this. My question is:
1. If user change menu (In Master Page), how should we save data?
2. How should we display the ! in the menu control?
I know that the code depicted below will not work but I am including it to convey the idea of what I wish to accomplish. I want to use a different SiteMap to construct the menu on the displayed page for each of three different classes of service (COS).
I set a session variable named "COS" at the login and want to test its value prior to rendering each page. I want to display a menu based upon the appropriate COS. Here is my first stab at it but I know that I cannot include <asp:...> controls within the "case" statements. Can anyone suggest methods of doing this? I know C# and can use that but I do not know how to select the proper sitemap within the <menu> control. I am also using a CSS in my production version.
I'm looking for a good jQuery or CSS, or combo, library to enance my left side menu in an an intranet application. I don't like the 'hover only' expand/collapse style of the ASP.NET Menu control on its own, and I don't like the 'icon-click only' expand/collapse style of the TreeView control on its own.
I plan on trying the CSS Control Adapters, to render the menu with some self-respect, i.e. as nested <ul> or <ol> elements instead of the usual orgy of tables. Beyond that, I need something to give a bit of style and menulike behaviour to these nested lists, and I would prefer a jQuery plugin for this. Which should I use?
i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.

Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.
I'm trying to create an asp menu for a website. The site will have 2 levels of user Master users (which will have more options) and Sub users which will have limited menu options.
I was wonder does anyone knows if a way to hide menu items? I've tried google but I can't really find much.
Here's the Asp code

I have worked out how to hide the whole menu when the user is not logged in
I am trying to develop menu usings the hover menu extender. I have nested menus - in other words, if some items in the drop down menu (hover) have menu items that are displayed next to it (using another hover menu extender control). I am trying to keep the original menu displayed when the sub menu is displayed, but with no luck. I have tried using animation, but that doesn't seem to work.
i'm working with asp.net visual studio 2008 c#i'm using Menu and i added items . the first item has like sub-items ...now when i run the website, the Menu wont open the sub-items menu ... this is the code :
