Adding A Html Table In The 'CreateUserWizzard'?

May 20, 2010

I am trying to build a simple e-commerce site by following a workbook; so far I have set up the user accounts and and created a user database. I have added a products table containing 12 different products and images too.

The preceding steps that I have followed to get here are:

Creating a page for a New User

- Go to the NewUser.aspx page.

The 'CreateUserWizard' object on the page gives us the standard settings to create a new user. However, we will need to get extra details from the user (such as First and Last name, address, phone number etc),
and add them to the Customers table in the database.

- Expand the options on the wizard, and choose Add/Remove WizardSteps

- Click 'Add' to add a new user step.

- Set the properties as shown in the right hand pane of the screenshot.

- Use the arrows to position this step in the middle of the members as shown.

- Then Click 'OK'

The next part is where I am stuck; the next step in the workbook states:

- Click the drop down list on the wizard tasks, and choose 'AddUserDetails'. (That is no problem)

- In the CreateUserWizard, add an html table and include the following
text, textboxes and SqlDataSource.

(This is where I am stuck - there is no option to add an html table. I just get this:

how I proceed to add the table from the createuser wizzard?

MVC :: How To Define HTML Used When Adding New CRUD View

Jan 14, 2010

is there a way of specifying a template to be used when VS generates the HTML, when we:

1. Right click, Add New View

2. Select Create a Strong Type View & Select Model class.

2. Select Edit, Create, List, Details etc...

E.g.

When we create a Details view, each field and corresponding data from the Model is wrapped in <p> tags, I always have to manually edit this html after it has been generated.

It would be nice to specify a template or define the tags we want to wrap this data.

Can this be done?

C# - AJAX Best Practice For Adding Html Components To A Page?

Jan 31, 2011

I'm new to AJAX/javascript, and I'm not sure what the best approach is for what I'm trying to do.

I'm calling page methods (WebMethods) on my Page using Javascript. The data I'm retrieving is a list of Divs basically.

I don't know how many will be returned, but they need to be inserted into the proper place on the page depending on their content.

I see a couple ways of doing this:

Create a list of HtmlGenericControls and pass them back. Create a list of Strings, where each String is the entire Div code I want to drop onto the page. (This feels wrong for some reason)Create simple container objects that have the necessary data in them. Pass those to the page and use them to create the Divs within javascript.

Adding TreeNodes Within Web Application?

Jun 26, 2010

This thread is basically a continuation from my last post. I have a website that uses a TreeView Control. Each TreeNode represents a virtual directory and I wish for the user to be able to create a new Node/Virtual Directory. This site is for family photos. Each family member has their own node with a Child Node called "Albums". Within this "Albums" node, a family member can have as many Nodes/Virtual Directory as they want with each Node/Virtual Directory containing images. Each Virtual Directory path is stored in a Database. So essentially, I'm trying to create my own photo album. My question is....how do I allow a user to create a new Node/Virtual Directory (they don't know that a VD is being created...only a Node).

Adding C# Web Form To VB Web Application

Feb 18, 2011

Is there any way to add a C# Web Form to an ASP.NET 4.0 Web Application that is written in VB.NET? I had an ASP.NET 2.0 WEB SITE that I recently converted to an ASP.NET 4.0 WEB APPLICATION. It was mostly written in VB.NET with a couple pages that had C# code behinds. I've read the following article (the end section about mulitple languages): [URL]

1) When I converted my site to an application, it didn't seem to add an APP_CODE folder at all
2) I'm not looking to just write a simple class, I actually want to be able to add a WEB FORM with a C# code behind

When I try to add a new item and I select which type of item I want to add, I am only given to option to add a VISUAL BASIC web form. I have a workaround right now. If I need a new web form with a C# code behind, I take one of my old C# web forms and just copy and paste the form and C# code behind into the project and then rename it and change the class name as well. Then i make my changes and do what I need to do. It seems to work, but I was just wondering if there was an easier way.

You might wonder why want to put C# forms in my VB app. I wrote my app in VB (not well versed in C# but I can read it). I have a programmer working for me that is much more efficient with C#. I don't really have the budget to spend weeks/months getting her up to speed with VB
