Feb 13, 2011I have created a load of dynamic buttons in an update panel. I do this so that there is one button for each client name in my DB. I want to then go through a list of these buttons and change the colour of them depending on another value retrieved from my database. How can I get a list of the buttons that have been created on my update panel. What would be the best method to update the colour as soon as they have been created? Would I use the preRender to create the button objects and then use the form load to update their colour or is there a better way of doing this?

Sep 16, 2010Within my Outlook (under Folder List) I have the following public folder: Public Folders ---> All Public Folders ---> Corporate Contacts. The "Corporate Contacts" folder holds a number of Contact objects. Using LDAP I'm trying to locate this public folder ("Corporate Contacts") and enumerate through the contacts in order to produce a client list. I'm using DirectorySearcher.Filter = "(&(objectClass=publicfolder))" to pull out the list of public folders but all I get is:

Oct 7, 2010The oddity is, that the same website files, copied and pasted, connection string altered to point to the production/live db, published to the httpdocs folder works fine BUT the same web files, copied and pasted, connection string altered to poin to the dev db, published to the subdomains/dev fodler causes the error below:

"The components required to enumerate web references are not installed on this computer. re-install Visual Studio."
I tried some commands like "C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8Common7IDE>devenv /resetskippkgs" in VS Command prompt, still I am getting the same problem.
I also found in one post to uninstall "Microsoft Source Analysis Tool For C#" from the machine. But in my machine the tool is not installed.

May 25, 2010I have a Web User Control I created for authentication. The web user control is inside the box below. Clicking any button (1 or 2) below works correct as it goes to the correct c# button click event in the code behind file. If I press enter on fields a or b it goes to the correct callback (button1's) if I press enter on field c it still goes to button1's callback, not button2's
How can I give my web user control a nice self contained for and view state etc, so it wont mess with the remainder of the page's form?

Feb 21, 2011I am working in a school and we recently installed a new server running WinServer 2008R2. I want to be able to point people to a URL on our intranet and have them fill out a simple registration form and have this data written to a database. It would also be nice to have some data auto-populate (such as their name).
Is it overkill to set up a sharepoint server and try to do this with Access Webforms? Could I use something like dotnetnuke and find a module that works? Or how about options for writing custom forms?

Apr 14, 2010I have a page with a ScriptManager / UpdatePanel. I currently need to PostBack to a https page from an http page (different ports). I also need the same session data. Currently, I copy my form to a new form, and when I postback to my new Target on a new Port, I get a crash in xmlHttp..something. I will have to post more details later.
I'm currently wondering if this is possible. And does anyone know of such a fix. I even tried to Turn off Partial Rendering and I still get crashes. I can't do this until I pull out the scriptManager / UpdatePanel.

Jun 8, 2010I have a web form called default.aspx which has a form with user information. In addition to this, I have an iFrame on the same page that displays a page Secondary-Form.aspx that has a few additional dynamic data fields. I need to do two things.
1. I need to pass the parent form data in real time to the iFrame page to refresh its content and modify it's fields accordingly. Example: If the user submits their Vehicle Choice as Car on parent form, the form item in iFrame will display a radio button that says Honda, and if the user submits their Vehicle Choice as MotorCycle in the parent page, the iFrame will display Harley Davidson as the radio button choice
2. The submit button is on the parent page. I want both pieces of this information (from the parent page, as well as iFrame selection) to be passed to a server side ASPX page to process this information.the default.aspx and Secondary-Form.aspx files are located on different domains.
