I m working on LINQ, using LINQ i m getting data in one to many environment, means
(1)table1 (master table)
(2)table1.table2 (here table2 is child table)
I m able to get data of table1 and table2 based on condition. and i storing in var variable.
but my problem is that i want to get data using SQL query and i want to assign fecthed data to class CLStable1(calss for table1) and class CLStable2(calss for table2).

I have a one-to-one relationship on two tables with are represented by 2 classes in my EDM. I am trying to save a new record and am confused how to save to the second entity. I have tried the following.
Dim myObject as new MyObject
myObject.prop1 = 5
myObject.prop2 = "Test"
myObject.myOtherObject.prop1 = 3
myObject.myOtherObject.prop2 = "Hello"
But I get an error when I hit myObject.myOtherObject.prop1 = 3 because myOtherObject hasn't been initialized. How do I initialize an child object under myObject?

i created register page with unique primry username field , when customer enter exsiting username the register process will not complete and this error msg will appear Server Error in '/WebSite1' Application. I am working on a page where I am looking a relationship property of Treeview.

Can We set Relationship here like tvwNExt, tvWFirst like vb. I am unable to find in ASP.NET I have a requirement where I need to go through in loop and set the parent Node, once and then child node. But due to loop its add parent node value everytime.

In oracle we can do this by using rowid.

but i don't know equivalent of rowid in sql server.

I have an excel sheet which has several parent records/rows and every parent row/record has several child sub-records under it. I have a field called ID which is of the type String as it contains a mixture of characters and numbers and is common for both parent and child records. How do I store the parent and child records in separate database tables, retrieve them and display them in a nested gridview?

I'm unable to fetch just one integer value using this LINQ-query. LINQ seems to return everything as IEnumerable but I don't want that. First query should return just one string value which is then used in another query. That one should return integer which is also return value for method:

I am trying to delete a row of the child gridview through a link button template field but how do I fetch the datakeys of the child gridview ?
In the code window there is no intellisense for child gridview as it is generated on runtime with respect to parent.

a FormView that is linked to SqlDataSource1a Repeater control (inside the formview) that is linked to SqlDataSource2 Thus representing a simple "1 to many" or "parent/child" relationship in the database!
SqlDataSource1 is simple in that it just retrieves a straight set of records from a table and they are displayed back in the FormView (nothing special happening there).
SqlDataSource2 has parameters that filter the contents of the repeater based on the record that is shown in the Formview. This would normally be simple enough to set up by setting the parameter to the formview.selectedvalue property.
HOWEVER - THE PROBLEM ARISES...
The formview has multiple DataKeyNames because the table that the SqlDataSource1 links to has a compound key. So to filter the Repeater correctly SqlDataSource2 needs to map 3 parameters to 3 data key values in the formview.
I've tried setting the SqlDataSource2 parameters to:
<SelectParameters>
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="FormView1" Name="Parameter1" PropertyName="DataKey(0)" />
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="FormView1" Name="Parameter2" PropertyName="DataKey(1)" />

</SelectParameters>
but it doesn't seem to like that approach. I'm expecting the answer is something similar .

I have two table Order and Order Detail.
What i need is i need to bind last 10 Order in Gridview/details view with paging, and the same order detail also fetch from database and shown in another gridview.. if user click any oderNo in first Gridview/DetailView then i need to show Respective order detail in anther gridview..
without postback coz we already fetch 10 order with orderdetails from the database..and if user click next 10 orderNo using paging then again we need to load 10 orderNo with respective orderdeatils from database like this going on....as well as let me know how to take print of particular oder and order detail....?

I have a gridview with a template filed which contains an embedded gridview, which may or may not contain any records. I want to be able to make the master gridview row a different color for those rows whose child gridview has records. My plan is to add a sqldatasource to the page that targets the child gridview table and during the master gridview RowDataBound event I would check to see if there are any records and apply the formatting accordingly.

I have a webform (parent) with embedded webgrid(child) which uses sqldatasource. What I wanted to accomplish is to save both the form data and the grid data when the Save button is clicked. I tried to save form data(parent) in sqldatasource1_inserting event, does not work. I think there should be a way to do it, just do not know how.

how can i retrieve the all foreign keys against a single primary key. i mean to say that if a table contain a primary key then it becomes as foreign keys in which tables.
i want to take that nam of that tables and on the base of that tables then i am to delete from all the entries. e.g: if a primary key's column entry deleted then all foreing key entries should also be deleted.
there are 988 tables in a single database. it can't be possible to go for each table to setup foreign key to ON DELETE CASCADE.
.can it have any way to delete against foreign key priority wise? mean to say that parent table contain primary key, child table contain foreign key , now there is another child table which dependent previous child table. then how can i delete all record against it?
i want to do it from programatically. i am using sql server 2005
i have completed this till to that , it retrieves all foreign keys but how to delete now on the base of priority.

I have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.
Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.
The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.
I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.

I have datagrid. i loading data to grid from user control like below

when i click the button Show child item. all the child item are displaying except one. for first child item not displaying, but one of parent items is displaying inside child grid.
it seems like previous parents data is loading to one of child record. How can i prevent that?
