I am trying to render a simple hyperlink that links to a named anchor within the page, for example:
<a href="#namedAnchor">scroll to down</a>
<a name="namedAnchor">down</a>
The problem is that when I use an ASP.NET control like asp:HyperLink or HtmlAnchor, the href="#namedAnchor" is rendered as href="controls/#namedAnchor" (where controls is the subdirectory where the user control containing the anchor is). Here is the code for the control, using two types of anchor controls, which both have the same problem:

I am using the HtmlAnchor or HyperLink class because I want to make changes to other attributes in the code behind. I do not want to introduce a custom web control for this requirement, as the requirement I'm pursuing is not that important enough to justify abandoning the traditional ASP.NET link controls. It seems like I should be able to use the ASP.NET link controls to generate the desired link.
I have a web page with an UpdatePanel containing two GridViews and related controls. There is a Save button on the page outside the UpdatePanel. One of the event handlers for a control inside the UpdatePanel calls a method DisplaySaveButton, which is supposed to make the Save button visible or not depending on a parameter. Although DisplaySaveButton is called & executed correctly, it does not effect the visibility of the Save button.
If I remove the UpdatePanel from the form, leaving all its content behind, everything works perfectly.
how do I affect the state of a control outside the UpdatePanel?
I am using UrlRewritting in my project. all functionality is working proper but I cant use the ASP.NET Ajax like updatePanel etc. the problem is ScriptResource.axd file is missing (404 Error). I used lot of ASP.net Ajax control before using UrlRewritting so I cant change the whole code.....
how can I enable ASP.NET Ajax? have any Alternative to replace ASP.NET Ajax without changing in codebehind.
I am using the timer inside UpdatePanel to check the time every second and enter it to a label control.
But I must ask, How this is going to effect performance? Bandwidth of the site?

View 3 RepliesI have a TabControl (Ajax Control Toolkit 1.0.10618.0) with 6 Tab Pages. On 1 Tab Page I have several internal anchors. I want to use URLs ike [URL]. This link opens Document ID 123 but it does not jump to Link2, probably because Link2 is on the 4th Tab page so it's not displayed initially. All these anchors only appear on the 4th tab but I could not set the 4th tab as general default tab because the 1st tab should be the default tab. When I manually open 4th and call the URL again then it's working fine. So I thought to inspect the Request.URL for '#Link' and , if found, switch to Tab4 automatically, but '#Link' does not appear anywhere in Request.URL.Is there a way to jump to an anchor on a currently not-opened tab?

Now This works perfectly and the panel appear when hovering over the second cell. However after a postback it is no longer working and no panel will show when hovering over the cell.
Is it possible to show a RoundedCorners Demonstration around a table cell or around a whole table

In a page I use prettyPhoto (a lightbox clone) that open a modal window showing an image when I click on a link with rel=prettyphoto. So I have:

everytime I click on the link a postback is fired (IsPostBack = false). Can I avoid this? I have a counter on the page and everytime a pic is showed this is recognize as a full page load (i.e. increment counter) as IsPostBack = false!
How can I achieve hover effect for the ajaxtoolkit combobox. I just need an outline for the entire combo i.e. outline for combo-textbox and combo-button when hovering over the combobox otherwise it should return to the normal outline color.
I could only get the hovering effect for combo-textbox alone and that too an outline creates at outer of the existing combo-textbox outline.
BTW: how can I attach an image from my desktop?

I am trying to use a HverMenuExtender to display a panel as a tooltip inside of a TabContainer's TabPanel. The first time I view the tab, the HoverMenuExtender's popup panel control shows even though I haven't hovered over the target control. This behavior does not happen when outside of the tab's content or after the first display of the tab. Any way to make the HoverMenuExtender act as it should on 1st display of the tab?

I have a website that uses a master page that contains the navigation for the site.The navigation buttons are images.Some of the navigation button images have hover menus tied to them.Those hover menus contain several image buttons, so as to create a drop down menu affect.The problem I have is when any of the pages are loading all of my hover menu image buttons flash on the left side of the screen for a second or less as the page is being rendered.Can this be stopped?
View 6 RepliesI am using ajax control toolkit's hovermenuextender control. A panel is the popup control and an imageButton is the TargetControlId for this. In the panel I am using a simple table. My problem is that when I hover on the image button first time it shows the panel and table but not the table data (content in <td>). After that it's ok. but after page post back the problem again occurs.

I need this to work without JS as well, which is why I still generate the HREF on the links, so I'm just intercepting the click and then invoking the parent click which in turn toggles the accordion header.
This works in IE but no Firefox, Chrome.
