I'm trying to implement an ASP.NET DataBoundControl that supports two-way databinding. Unfortunatelly I can't find any documentation on how to do this on the web and even Dino Esposito in his ASP.NET 2.0 Advanced Topics only handles one-way databinding (also the contact form on his blog isn't working). Can anyone provide me with documentation or samples on how to do this?

I am having a LinkButton inside a repeater control and I want to have hover popup when I mouse over it. How can I do it? I have seen couple of examples, but they are using tag..I want it on LinkButtonn.
View 4 RepliesI've encountered was appears to be a strange bug with the menu control, and alas, I am unable to find much useful information on it (which leads me to believe I have something installed or confingured incorrectly). Here the problem:
When declaring a menu control with a staticHoverStyle, for example:
<asp:Menu
ID="navMenu"
DataSourceID="srcSiteMap" [code]....
Has no effect on the behavior of the control once it's rendered, neither in Firefox nor IE.In fact, using the source code at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms366731.aspx with no modifications also results in the hoverstyle not working.
This problem seems to be "fixed" if you specify the css attribute declaratively, for example, StaticMenuItemStyle-BackColor="Yellow".
Alternatively, if you specify RenderingMode="table" then the hoverstyle seems to work. It's only when you're using a cssclass with a list that things seem to mess up.
Finally, I notice that in the rendered html, the control embeds some styles between /* */ and /* */ comments that affects the final appearance of the menu control, sometimes overwriting a cssclass you specified (ex: the margin for dynamic menus can only be controlled with the HorizontalOffset property, and not by css). This is undesirable, but I don't see anything that seems to overwrite the behavior of hover elements. Actually, the .hoveritem class doesn't appear anywhere in the markup at all, but when you specify the StaticMenuItemStyle-BackColor property, then the value is rendered correctly in this block of styles.
i need to know what control in asp .net 2.0 to use to get this layout:
i need to display 8 videos at a time using 2 rows with 4 columns, but the control should also have paging (to display 8 items per page).
i've thought of using a formview but the paging for formview is per one article content / datarow only.
i'm also thinking of using gridview but i am not so sure if i can get this layout.
I wanted to make a simple data-entry web application, thinking Dynamic Data would save me time.
But it turns out that the GridView doesn't even support basic user interface scenarios such as inserting a new row.
Since the project I'm building will incorporate this scenario a lot, I'm considering creating my own grid-view control that does exactly what I need.
Is it difficult to develop a web control that supports dynamic data? Are there a lot of complicated hooks that rely on closed-source functionality in the .NET framework?
Or is it as simple as making the control data-bindable and having a DataSourceObject property?
i use ajax html editor control in my page.aspx

I was wondering if it was possible to have a div layer or something like that, that can be displayed when you hover over a day on the calendar control. I have done it with a tooltip so that when a day has some data in it and i hover over that day the data is displayed in the tooltip.
I would like to take this further by having a styled div or something like that. Take a look at the link below. go into the site and on the right hand side towards the bottom is a calendar.. hover over the highlighted days to see what i would like to acheive.

View 3 RepliesI have an application that posts to a form on a different page, on a different site. Everything works fine unless the user presses the back button.The way it'ssetup now, if th euser forgets their pin, they click alink which takes them to a popup window. The enter their info and then they're sent a new pin. Fine.However, I'm trying to account for all possible scenarios. What if the user forgets their pin, is taken to this other page, and then decides they remembered their pina nd presses the back button. They'll need to reload in order to be able to try to post again, otherwise the session variables I'm using to log them in won't reset (I reset some in the page load event).Is there anyway to detect whether the page was arrived at via the browser back button so that I can reload it?
View 2 RepliesI bind a hover extender to a cell in a gridview, using following code:
Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender
As
Object,
ByVal e
As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs)
Handles GridView1.RowDataBound
If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow
Then
Dim hoverMenu
As HoverMenuExtender =
CType(e.Row.FindControl("hoverMenu"), HoverMenuExtender)
e.Row.Cells(1).Controls.Item(0).ID = e.Row.RowIndex.ToString()
hoverMenu.TargetControlID = e.Row.Cells(1).Controls.Item(0).ID
End
If
End
Sub
Now This works perfectly and the panel appear when hovering over the second cell. However after a postback it is no longer working and no panel will show when hovering over the cell.

How can I achieve hover effect for the ajaxtoolkit combobox. I just need an outline for the entire combo i.e. outline for combo-textbox and combo-button when hovering over the combobox otherwise it should return to the normal outline color.
I could only get the hovering effect for combo-textbox alone and that too an outline creates at outer of the existing combo-textbox outline.
BTW: how can I attach an image from my desktop?
I tried the CSS style as below
