AJAX :: CalendarExtender Does Not Retain "month" When Going Back Years?
Jan 27, 2011
The AJAX CalendarExtender does not seem to work properly when using it to try and find the "past "Years/Month" (the TextBox default value is set to the current date).
When using the CalendarExtender with the Calenar icon you can click the icon and the Calendar pops up. By clicking on the Month/Year the month disappears and when you click on the "year" again it will take you back to the years from the past. After you find the year from the past being sought you can click on a "Month". Next you can click on the day sought.
However after you click on the day sought the date appears in the TextBox.
The problem is that the month is always displays "1". For example if I choose:
July 31, 2010 on the Calendar it should display "7/31/2010 in the TextBox, but instead it will display:
"1/31/2010" in the TextBox ( As you can see the "7" is replace with a "1").
How can I get the CalendarExtender to retain the "month" value that was selected to be displayed in the TextBox?
The CalendarExtender used with TextBox has a problem when you select previous years, months and a day in that the day reverts to "1" no matter what day of the month that you choose. Microsoft usually has a free patch for something like this when that happens.
If I am correct and there is a patch for this bug can anyone tell me where to find the patch and if there is no patch can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?
how can i add years up in the header of calendar. Now i can see months and years but if i want to get to year 1977 i must click back about 1 minute or more. Can i add years to click and then click month.
I have a page where users need to enter a lot of information. Upon submitting, it will be redirected to a confirmation page. I need to provide a "back" button here to allow users to return to previous page and change the values on the form. How this could be done? The values on the form need to be retained.
in the Page_Load. This PopulateBrand() simply populates my drop down. That works great and on post back it retains the value.
The problem I'm having is that there is also a link on the page that is posting back some parameters to this page. What is happening is that when this is clicked it's falling through this !IsPostBack section and wiping out my drop down values that I had selected and repopulating it.
How can I prevent this and just retain what I selected when this page is posting back to itself when the link is clicked?
I wanna use calender extender, but with 2 modifications.
1.) The calender itself must contain the 2 dropdown lists (one for year and other for month) and below these 2 lists there are dates (1 through 31) on selecting that the calender disappeares.
2.) Is it possible to have calender show only few years for example if I use calender for Age purpose then I want users to select only 1920 through 2000 so calender shows only those no of years.
I am using calendar extender. clicking on text box opens up calendar. But when i m trying to browse previous years like 1980s then its not displaying the years. Its only displaying years from 2009.
I have a registration page I enter the details of the customers and redirect to another page for capturing photo and I come back to the registration page. I want to retain all the values i entered when i land on the registration page.
I have a cascading dropdown. After the dropdown is populated(it is in another file) i would like to return back to the original form where the control is placed. is there anyway of doing it
when using CalendarExtender with a TextBox, when i press mouse into the TextBox, a Calendar pop-ups. I want to know, does here asynchronous communication took place for bringing this calender from server to the browser ? or initially at the time of page load itself that calendar was loaded in the browser ?
How to display the number of days in textbox when the month is selected in the dropdown list,,,for example if i select the month december ,after selection i want to display 31days in the textbox how ?
We currently have a page with several user controls (8 of them) and when a control that is contained in an updatepanel initiates a postback the focus is not retained. In some cases, it looks like the focus is sent to the top of the page, and in other cases the focus looks like it is sent to the control with the TabIndex=1.
I have tried 3 different solutions and they all end up with the same result.
The first two were from article: [URL]
Solution 1: At the end of the server event executed in postback, add:
[Code]....
The article says both of those solutions worked, but for us, neither of them did.[Code].... ASPX.CS
[Code]....
[Code]....
In all 3 scenarios the control we want to have the focus gets the focus for a split second and then the focus is cleared (set to the top of page, or TabIndex=1).
I have a hidden field which is used to count the number of times "Load Grid" button is clicked. Load Grid button and the grid view are in update panel as shown below.
[Code]....
Code behind: public partial class ajaxGridSort : System.Web.UI.Page { public string sortOrder { get [code].... Each time user clicks on load grid or try to sort in the grid, I am loosing the hidden field values. Can you please help me understand why am I loosing hidden field data on AJAX postback and please provide the solution for this issue?
