AJAX :: CalendarExtender Popup Position In Google Chrome After Page Scrolled Down
Jan 26, 2010
I'm having a problem with the CalendarExtender's position in Google Chrome (4.0.249.78 (36714)) when a page is scrolled down such that the scrollbar position is > 0
For example, if you use Chrome to goto:
http://www.asp.net/AJAX/AjaxControlToolkit/Samples/Calendar/Calendar.aspx
- Scroll down so that the "Calendar Demonstration" subheading is just below the top of the browser rendering area.
- Click the first TextBox labelled "Default Calendar"
- The CalendarExtender popup appears with it's top edge at the very top of the page instead of below the TextBox.
The same happens when you click on the 2nd TextBox or on the button trigger for the "Calendar with an associated button" example.
It seems that the "top" css value of the resuting popup div isn't being calculated with the scroll position taken into account. Running the same example in Firefox results in a "top" value of 391px, with the Chrome value being 273px.

I am using the CalendarExtender and I've found it works fine in all browsers except for any version of Google Chrome and Safari 4.
In these browsers the calendar appears either on top of the textbox or near the top of the screen instead of under the textbox.
You can reproduce this behavior by going to: http://www.asp.net/AJAX/AjaxControlToolkit/Samples/Calendar/Calendar.aspx

I want to open a popupwindow (with close button only) when the user clicks a button and the parent window should be disabled until the popup window closed. For that I'm using the following code
function popup_window(url) {
popupwin = window.showModalDialog(url,null,'height=20,width=150,status=no,resizable=no,scrollbars=no,toolbar=no,location=no,menubar=no');
}
Anyhow, this code is working perfectly in IE. But, I hav two problems. In firefox, it is not opening with the size I've mentioned in the script. It is opening in full size. And In Google Chrome, parent window is not getting disabled.

Does anyone have any problems with Page_Load being executed twice in Google Chrome?
It's a short question, i do not know what else to explain...
I have a simple asp.net page and in Firefox and IE all it's working fine.
But in Chrome the Page_Load is fired twice...
Later EDIT:
- what is strange is that i have 4 repeaters... binded with random values. The random methods are twice fired (because of page loaded twice) but the repeaters takes the INITIALLY values...so, the 2nd post back is somehow raised after the rendering step.
3rd edit: It happens ONLY at the refresh!
Solution (in my case): There was an empty img src, and that was the cause

I have a GridView in which I have item,Edit ,Footer and Empty Item Template , and also a hovermenuextender to show Edit/Delete link on row hover. when my page opens if it doesn't have any data it show empty row , when user enters data and click on Add button it save's the data and load the grid. All works fine in IE and firefox but not in google Chrome.
After saving data in chrome all links stop working , but when i reload the page it workes fine if i remove the hovermenuextender it works fine in chrome also, So i think hovermenuextender creating problem in chrome when it's added at runtime(if empty grid comes hovermenuextender will be added after data saved)

I am creating one of my first Asp.Net tools and I ran in to a small bump. Currently I am doing a postback on a buttonclick which does some server-side calculations. The server-side code then uses those calculations to alter the contents of a div. In IE and Firefox when a postback happens, the div updates as expected. However, in chrome all postbacks do a complete refresh of the entire page. What is causing this and is there a way around this behavior?
Update:
ClientSide I have the following..
<asp:Button ID="Button2" Style="float: right" runat="server"
OnClick="S_ButtonClick" Text="Calculate" />
Which calls a method summarized as so.
protected void S_ButtonClick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//Code parsing values from textboxes ect.
//Do Some Calculations
//Output Results
outputDiv.InnerHtml = "<h2>Foo</h2><br/>";
outputDiv.InnerHtml += "Bar: " + calcValue;
}
It is possible that when this postback(if I understand this correctly) happens, that it is still fully reloading in firefox and ie, but it doesn't show it. This effectively masks the postback. However, when I test in chrome, any postback completely blanks the page before reloading the state. Hopefully this clears up exactly what I am asking. Also, my C#/.Net usage might be slightly flawed and I am willing to take comments on such.

I wan to do a required field validation for the cascading dropdownlist . When my page first load out the validator is fired first in the google chrome, the callout extender message is prompt out first in the Google Chrome. I have tested the code in IE and safari, this two browsers never prompt out the validator callout first when the page is loaded.
i wonder why the google chrome will prompt out the validator when i validate the cascading dropdownlist. I have did some research on it, but failed to get any solution.

I have a page where I want to keep several combo boxes adjacent to each other. I have put them in divs that are floated left.
This works fine in IE, Firefox. But when I render the same page on Chrome I observe the uneven gap between combo boxes. Upon analysis I found out that each combo box is occupying space based on the data inside it.
This happens because on Safari and Chrome, the option list control is placed differently as compared to that on IE and Firefox.
Please see the following code from ComboBox.pre.js (in AjaxControlToolkit source/Server/)
[Code]....
This is how it looks:
I have tried doing the following but none of them helped:
Changed the RenderMode of combo box to 'block' from 'inline'Commented the lines above in combobox.pre.js
Basically, as per my study, unlike IE and FF, on Chrome, the outer combo box div occupies space as the width of absolutely placed ul present inside it which anyways doesn't seem to be a correct implementation.

I have a modal popup with an image cropping tool I wrote in JavaScript and it passes the coordinates to the codebehind on postback. Anywho... for some reason when I call the Show() method the modal popup is rendered 3/4 of the way down the screen. I checked firebug to see what CSS might be conflicting but found nothing to be conflicting with it. If I enable the reposition modes it will adjust to the correct position on scroll or resize but not when it is rendered.

I am developing an application in which I have a page and at the bottom of the page there is an Iframe and inside of it is a Facebook login button and a asp.net login control.
When I scroll to the bottom of the page where the iframe is and then I put my mouse cursor in the username textbox of the loging control and having loged in before; when I type the first letter of my username under the text box apperas a kind of 'autosuggest' box with my user name in it...
That 'autosuggest' type of box (which is standard of a textbox) which should show right under the text box actually shows up 6 inches below it because I scrolled the page. In fact once it is displayed, that 'autosuggest' box stays fix in its position and I can scroll the page up and down with my mouse roller and the text box goes up and down with the page but the 'autosuggest' box stays in its place without moving...
Also the facebook login button when clicked generates a login dialog box inside a browser popup. But when I have it inside he iframe and the page is scrolled to the bottom when the iframe and the facebook login button are then the popup actually apears off screen, way, way down and low on my computer screen so much so that I cant even see it. I know it is there because of the taskbar..

I'm using google maps in my site with markers.
When a marker is clicked, I'd like to display a popup.
this is easy, my problem is that the popup needs to be updated from the database before and the popup has some links that should be inside an UpdatePanel to avoid refresh.
I can use the marker function to display a popup (with a given html) how to get the html with the updatepanel .
I thougt about using the ajax popup control but I don't know how to position it on the marker.

I've implemented a google map with points and stuff that uses an address that the user inputs. When you click a point, the popup bubble appears with the name and address in.Often this name and address is a prominent location, as it's used for meetings and things, such as a university. If you google the address yourself on maps.google.co.uk then you get google's own popup bubble, which often has a photo, information, opening hours, links to directions, reviews, etc. etc.I am wondering if there's a way to use that popup dialog instead of my own, where it is available. I can't see anything in the API to do this.I'm using V2 as we support IE6 in a lot of our users, but I've been told recently I can upgrade to V3 should I need functionality from it.

I started learning ASP.NET these days. Google Chrome is my default browser and I'm also testing my applications in Google Chrome.
I recognized that some Elements of ASP.NET won't run in real time when I use Chrome. For Example ASP.NET WebParts. If I change the modus of the WebPartManager from default to edit (or something else), Google Chrome needs 1 - 2 seconds to renew the page. Internet Explorer does this in real time without any loading times.
I'm a rookie in ASP.NET and many people said, Microsoft's AJAX for ASP.NET is some kind of crap.
I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and maybe you'll say, I should use jQuery instead of internal Features like WebParts.
