I am very new in asp.net c#. I am trying to edit data from gridview button column click. the code is given below:

Once I click that button, OnItemCommand="datagrid_ItemCommand" method should be called.
Its working in IE but not in Firefox.
I am using update panels with Update mode conditional in by aspx page. The page is functioning properlly in the IE.8.0 but the page content is not posting when i open it in the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
FYI I am using Update panels for drop down lists and buttons and in the triggers also i am using similar controls.
I have put my gridView inside an UpdatePanel with Timer control for auto refresh.The gridView has a linkButton column which is bounded to referenceNo column from database.
On click of this link button i want a panel to get visible. This Panel contains details corresponding to the referenceNo shown in differnt controls (mostly texboxes). Do i necessarily need to put the panel inside the Update Panel.If not how do i do it?
I have tried putting panel outside UpdatePanel, but it doesn't show panel on clicking the linkbutton nor does the values are updated inside this panel (if panel's visibility is set to true by default for testing purpose).
Has anyone ever been able to get a button to work in an updatepanel for safari?

If the button is inside updapanel, nothing happens when I click the button (Label is not displayed), but if I move button outside the panel it works. (Button must be inside updatepanel and ofcourse no PostBackTrigger)

I got a little problem that is... well... quite frustrating. I have dynamically created a button, outside the UpdatePanel, just like that:

I have a master page containing a ScriptManager control, and a Content Page containing a ScriptManagerProxy Control. Further on the content page I have an UpdatePanel control containing a GridView control and a server side button control. I have registered the button control as a trigger with the UpdatePanel control asynchronously and have set the UpdateMode of the UpdatePanel to "Conditional". I also have a "JumpLoader" control which is outside the UpdatePanel control. I have the following event for Jumploader wired up through Javascript. I have a GridView that is inside a Web User Control, that is inside an ASPX Page, that is wrapped by the Master Page.
Inside a GridView, I have a template field with DateTime type that has a TextBox inside EditTemplate. I extended this TextBox with CalendarExtender and it works ok in Internet Explorer.
I also have a DetailsView control on the same WebControl that I use to Insert new enrty. InsertTemplate for this field is the same as in GridView (Textbox with Calendar extender).
The problem occures when i click on the Edit link (or try click on the link that displays DetailsView in Insert mode for adding new entry) in any other browser: Chrome, Firefox, Opera.
The problem itself is that the calendar extender does not get poped out. I have a UpdateProgress Control on an ASPX page, that thie control is loaded into, that shows loading image while page is being posted back asynchronously.
In internet explorer the loading image is shown for jst a moment and then dissapears. Calendar extenders works perfectly.
As for the other browsers, the loader does not dissapear and none of ths postback links are working, as if it was waiting for the previous postback event or something else to finish. Finally I have to reload the page to get to the inicial stage or click a direct URL link to get somewhere else.
I've a dropdown and a listview inside an updatepanel (Master/Child relationship) so based on value selected in dropdown the listview gets populated. The Listview allow user to perform Edit/Insert/delete of records. I have to implement a scenario when a user is editing/inserting a record and if he tries to navigate away/change the value in dropdown he should be prompted to save the data and if he choose yes in JS Confirm Dialogue then the currently edited/inserting record should be saved (for which i'm trying to mimic the click of the update/insert button using js). I've attached change eventhandler of dropdown using JQuery which is getting called properly bind.

The eventhandler gets called correctly but the click() doesn't work! Also the reason I'm calling click() method of button is to perform the validations via RequireValidator/RangeValidators.
I'm attempting to set the visibility my UpdatePanel to true upon a button click event (as shown below). It should be rather straightforward but unfortunately it's not working at all. Any idea why it's going wrong?

I'm using a searchoption on my website. (language = VB)
The user can choose a searchcriteria out of a dropdownlist (Artist name, Description, Price, Genre, Type) . If the user selects one of the options in the dropdownlist the correct textboxes are shown.
For example: if the user selects Price he gets two textboxes (one for the min price and one for the max price) if the user selects Artist Name he gets one textbox
The dropdownlist and the textboxes are put into an updatepanel. The searchbutton is outside the updatepanel.
Now for the problem:
If the user doesn't fill in a textbox and presses the searchbutton, the backcolor of that empty textbox should be turned red. The searchbutton is set as a trigger and the panel is updated on the buttonclick, but the colors don't show.
In the clickevent of the button I've said the following code:

Quite a simple piece of code. This works if I remove the updatepanel from my page, but I'd like to keep the updatepanel because it's really nice :p.

In Visual Studio 2008 ,in my application page 'TEST.aspx' have an 'Ajax TabContainer' inside update panel , and Tab Panel "Product Group Identification" containes textboxes ,DropDownlist and button like 'Save' and 'Cancel' , on clcik of 'save' or 'cancel' buttons only dropdownList Disappears for a second and reappears this is due to Update panel.

gvUsers.Sort("DateOfBirth", SortDirection.Descending);
However, this doesn't sort the records. I have the Sort event as an asynch trigger for the grid.
I try to create a asp.net 4 webpage, using masterpage.

Altough questions somehow similar to this have been asked for a number of times, but the question is still unsolved. Here is the question: I have a gridview which is contained in a tab container ajax control which itself is inside an updatepanel. Gridview works excellent and its corresponding methods are fired accurately, but when I enable paging, (e.g.) after I click on page 2, the gridview hides itself. here is my PageIndexChanging method:

I have been trying for ever to hide a column in gridview using the following code,
GridView1.Columns[6].Visible = false;
but the debugger says that index is out of range, the number columns when runnung Columns.Count is zero
even though I have a table with data it says that there are no columns

I am trying to add an additional column on the gridview. Everything work fine. The problem is, when i add a new button on the page where the gridview exists and hit the button. The added column in gridview went missing. The button do not have any code behind associated with it and I am using VS2008. Anyone know what have cause this and how to solve this problem? I need the added column to be there even user click on the button.
