Feb 9, 2010In my website I have lot of pages that have datagrid but in one only the half of the datagrid is displayed in IE 8 but at the same time it displays well in IE 6 & firefox. and in another the entire datagrid is not displayed but at the same time it displays well in IE 6 & firefox.

I am in the process of creating a "news system", you can add, edit and delete news. The news items can be entered into the SQL database and you select a category where you want the news item to go into.
What I want is when someone comes to the "Edit" screen, they have a drop down list and what that does is allows you to select a category for you to edit news items from, so rather than at present having the "Edit" page display all the news items, I want people to be able to choose a category that they can edit news items in.

Mar 16, 2011I have a datagrid which displays a list of user data, such as name, his or her status, age. I have created a list of rows of user data but where the column shows status for example Single, Married, i want it to create a dropdown list where i can easily change the user status by selecting it from a dropdown and clicking the update button at the top of the datagrid. The update button will update all records that have been changed not just from the dropdown. I assume the dropdownlist requires a columnbinding event but i can't find any straight forward tutorials.

Jul 8, 2010What I am looking to do is have a page with 2 seperate datagrids on, I want to be able to add the selected rows from DataGrid1 into DataGrid 2 either with a button click or using drag and drop functionality (Im guessing this would require javascript and I have no experience with this language, is it difficult to learn or could I just alter code from elsewhere?). Once the row is added into DataGrid2 I would like to be able to add some information, such as Quantity and DateDue (could this be added in a pop up box when the part is added?) Also I would like fields in DataGrid1 to be based upon a search with several different options that the user specifies, i.e the ability to search based on project number, however it would return eitheer parts or assemblies depending on a check box selected. I have very limited programming knowledge but Im guessing I would be able produce a query based on the inputs, but in order for this to work wouldnt the page to postback everytime an option was changed.

Oct 31, 2010I have a datagrid which pulls data from a single database table to display it. However, this database table also contains information on the thumbnail URL for each record, and I would like to display the thumbnails for each record in the 1st column of the datagrid.

AJAX :: Ajax Control Toolkit Not Displaying Controls In VS Tab?
Jan 25, 2010I've got an issue where I'm unable to view Ajax controls within the Visual Studio toolbox section What makes this issue even more bizzare is that I'm able to view the controls of the .dll (AjaxControlToolkit.dll) in a test website. I can see Visual Studio iterate through the controls and add them to the tab in one project and absolutely nothing in the other. I've already checked to see if another tab has my controls and done multiple Toolbox resets. Obviously, I need consistency with this and for me to be able to easily add controls to my target website...Does anyone know why one VS2008 project displays controls correctly in one place but not in another project?

Apr 15, 2010This is my VERY FIRST experience with AJAX, so be as non-elitist and as clear as possible -- mayve even to the point of talking to me like I'm a child.
GIS programmer add an autocomplete search box to her mapping application. Before I can do that, I need to understand how to do it in a simple place first. I'm working with Visual Studio 2008 on my desktop machine and my website files are on a Windows 2003 Server running IIS 6 to which I have a mapped share called X:. Yesterday, I downloaded the AJAX Control Toolkit and added it to Visual Studio. It shows up in my toolbox and I can add and remove items. Cool. I can start an "ASP.NET Web Application" from Visual C# -> Web and I can drop many controls on the page with design view, but the extenders do not drop there. Particularly, I am interested in the AutoCompleteExtender. If I double-click, nothing happens. If I drag it over the design view, I see a slashed circle. If I add it in the source view, it gets highlighted and I'm told "Element 'AutoCompleteExtender' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site, or the web.config file is missing." The web.config is actually not missing.
I have been told by a friend that I may need to add something to my Web.config to enable AJAX stuff, but he offered nothing else on that. I see a system.webServer section in my Web.config and a comment above it that tells me it is not required for IIS versions earlier than 7.
Also, if I drop a TextBox on my page and try to choose an extender, the AutoCompleteExtender is listed in the Extender Wizard; however, adding it this way ends up with the same result.

Mar 7, 2011I have 3 drop down boxes, created using the HTML select tag. On page load, the first box has a few names. Now, when I click on one of the names in the first box, some more names should appear in the second and when I click on a name in the second box, some more names should appear in the third box. How can I achieve this using AJAX? I have to use ASP.Net and MS SQL Server only. I'm a complete noob to AJAX and I've been educating myself about it, but nothing's working out. I've been looking for the code for close to a week. I looked up w3schools.com, but when I tried that code, it didn't work. Please help me out and please tell me step by step, the things required in order to make it work, and what goes where. I have a deadline that is fast approaching and am at my wit's end trying to make it work.
