Nov 3, 2010My UI layer calls my business layer which populates a DTO. I need to display properties from the DTO on my ASPX page. Should I create public variables on the code behind page for each of the DTO properties and reference like <%=PublicPropertyName%> OR is it ok to set the DTO instance to public and reference the properties directly like <%=dtoInstance.propertyName%>
Additionally, would it be better if I just created Literal and Label controls for every item on the ASPX page and just populate them from the code behind only?

Feb 19, 2010I am having an aspx page which displays the map. When i click on a button on the aspx page, modal popup extender will be displayed.This popup window is having some textboxes .
My requirement is , the graph displayed in the aspx page should change based on the values entering in the textboxes in the popup extender.
Is it possible to keep the aspx page enable even though the popup extender is displayed?
Is it possible to change and display the aspx page values(map like google map) based on the values in the popextender?

In the constructor of the FormViewModel I want to do a shorthand assignment to the inherited class properties with the passed in object (ie thisPerson) without iterating through each property of the inherited class and assigning its value with corresponding property in the passing in object. Should I use super, base, this, or something else?

Dec 5, 2010I have a button in a details view that I want to change the properties of at run time. When the user clicks the edit button the details view goes into edit mode. I also want the edit button to turn into an update(or save) button so the use can click it to persist the changes done in edit mode. I've had to create a new instance of the button which I can do. I've done that with the cast below, I assume this is a good way to do this. I'm now having difficulty assigning the properties. I tried this but get a "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object" error. I thought I was working with an instance of the object in the code below, but the compiler doesn't agree. How do I set the text, and other properties for my button instance?

May 16, 2010I am facing problem while using popup control with Grid.Following is the situation.I have a grid. in grid for each row there is an anchor tag for "Add Comment".on clicking this anchor tag a popup should apear with a textbox to add comments,two buttons - Save and Cancel and a requirefieldvalidator which will check that whether the textbox is filled or not.Now the problem is when i click on save button the requiredfield validator doesn't work.and if i go with the flow means after adding comment hitting the save button - saves my comment but popup contol doesn't get hide. it appears as it is.Can anyone please help me out in this??Can anyone tell me how to hide popup control after saving. and why required validator doesn' get fired???

Feb 4, 2010I am having problems getting the Autocomplete extender to work within a grid view which is contained inside an update panel.Outside of the update panel the auto complete works fine, but when placed inside the 'EditItemTemplate' tags on my gridview it does not display any results. Debugging revealed that the webservice is being called and values returned, but they are not being displayed within the grid view.
