AJAX :: How To Fire A ModalPopupExtender On The SelectIndexChanged Event Of A Dropdownlist

How can I fire a ModalPopupExtender on the SelectIndexChanged event of a dropdownlist?
I only want it to fire when a particular value is chosen in the list.
I tried leaving the PopupControlID value out and calling .Show() on my extender in the onselectchanged event, but it would not allow me to have a blank PopupControlID. If I set the PopupControlID to the ID of my dropdownlist, the popup fires as soon as I click on the dropdownlist control.
I added dropdownlist & textbox control to gridviewrow dynamically on button click.I bind datatable to dropdownlist programatically & dropdownlist Datatextfield="product" & Datavaluefield="Amount". now my question is: when I select a product in dropdownlist,the corresponding product item "Amount" should display in the textbox. I write in my dropdown event like this:

I have the need to fire off a modal pop-up inline. I have a modal panel defined, and works when I click a test button on the page. Unfortunately I need it to work like this:
1.) A user clicks a 'Save' button
2.) In the code block for that button's Click event, there is a check for a certain constraint.
3.) If that constraint exists, I need to show the modal pop up and determine if the following code in the Click event is executed based off of the return of that modal pop up.
Easily accomplished using a Forms message box. But this is an ASP.net app. What I've tried so far is creating a button that uses a style with "display: none" and programmatically firing off that hidden button's click event. Unfortunately the code does execute but no modal pop up is displayed and the code continues to execute.
I have a DropDown which is bounded to an ObjectDataSource. On its data bound event, I am adding "--select--" value on the 0 index. I have a LinkButton on the page and on its client click, i am selecting different item on drop down (using JavaScript). Suppose there are 3 items like --select--, option1, option2 and option3 and now on link button's client click i selected option3, now if I select the default value "--select--", it does not fire the SelectedIndexChanged event. If I select any other value then it fires. Why does it not work for the default value?
this is my code which enables me to populate my listbox(lbstaff) according to the dropdownlist(testddl) selection. However i want to do it a different way by adding a button, so after i select a item in dropdownlist and click on the button, the listbox will be populated accordingly.
I create a dropDownList in code-behind, in selectIndexChange of another dropDownList, and add this new dropDownList to page using a placerHolder, everthing its ok, but new dropdownlist selectIndexChange event dont fire!

Is there a way that if certain items are selected in a DropDownList to fire up a ModalPopupBox. Basically if any value except for one value is selected, I want a popup warning them, are you sure?
I have the Popup Frame, I have the Popup Extender. I just don't know how to wire the two together using the TargetControlID. I don't want the popup to just automatically come up when the dropdownlist is selected but only if its not value "X".
I figured instead of doing this in parallel, I could check it after the fact when the form is posted using the extender.show() command but my program is crashing because the targetcontrolid for my modalpopupextender is null. I don't have a targetcontrolID in that case?
like to ask how to stop triggering event Timer_Tick when ModalPopup is already shown. I use the following code:

I'd like after 15 seconds the ModalPopup to show, but the timer go on counting and triggering Timer1_Tick event. This operation should happen on user basis. So, if one user ModalPopup shows and stops Timer1_Tick event, for another user on the website, the Timer1_Tick should work.
I have a form which has some dropdownlists (ListItems "Yes" "No"). I use my form to Enter data & submit to database and use same form to Edit aswell. In the modalpopup I have a dropdownlist which is filled from DB in code behind. but when the user clicks on Add button in modalpopup panel, the selected value of the dropdownliast is always its default value.

I traced my code behind, the fillData() which fills up dropDownList is called only once in page load's first time.
PS. I understood the problem exists only when the modal is poped up by linkbutton click of gridview. when It is poped up by a button outside the grid it workes fine.

I'm using a ModalPopupExtender in my website, to show "accept/cancel" messages, and catch the user selection at the server side. I put two buttons (ok/cancel) at the panel that will be shown as a modal popup, add them a server side event handler, but it does not fire.
