View 5 Repliesthere a way to change the width of the combobox control dropdown list? The problem is that because of the entries in it width of the combobox' dropdownlist exceeds the width of the screen resolution itself. So, is there a way to set a fixed width or any other better solution?
View 4 RepliesI have a dropdown list in a gridview field. The DataValueField for the ddl is an 8 digit item code. The text to display through will be quite longer, 40-60 characters because it will combine the item code and item name into a single string. I don't want the dropdownlist field to be that wide though, only what is displayed when the ddl is selected. In Access you can set the width property of the list to display wider than the field itself. Is there that capability in ASP.NET and if so where do I find it?
View 2 RepliesI would like to set <StyleAction Attribute="width" Value="150px"/> in code behind.
The reason is that I am trying to add it as a property in my UserControl (.ascx).
my code :
<ajaxToolkit:PopupControlExtender ID="ImageButton1_PopupControlExtender"
I am using the cascading dropdownlist controls from the Ajax toolkit. I have everything working perfectly and all of my select changes work. I have 3 related select boxes that all work great for single item select. What I need is for my last dropdownlist to allow for the selection of multiple items. I have tried adding the 'multiple' attribute to the final dropdown list and it allows the selection of multiple items but I cannot get the items when I post back, just a single item.
View 7 RepliesIs it possible to specificy height and width dimensions of the ImageUrl attribute in a <asp:HyperLink> control? I tried setting the height and width attributes of the HyperLink control thinking the picture specified in the ImageUrl attribute of the HyperLink control would be resized to the dimensions of the height and width attributes but it wasn't.If I can't somehow resize the specified image for the HyperLink Im gonna have to scrap the control and do it the old fasioned way. By using a regular <asp:Image> control inside an <a href>.
View 3 RepliesI'm sure this question has been asked before but I have been unable to find an answer so far. I want to create a control consisting of a label, an editor control and make the editor control resizable using the ResizeControlExtender:
[Code]....
I have is to extend the control vertically, effectively making it longer, but I don't want the user to make it any wider than it parent control - effectively disabling the option to make it wider. Hopefully that makes sense - for an example, look no further than the control used to input text when creating a post.
Have spent hours trying to create a Dynamic Data Field Template holding a DropDownList which is extended by the AJAX Cascading DropDown extension.Final form holds multiple cascading dropdown boxes. User selects Country (Land) then Postcodes, Counties (Provincie) are populated. Once postcode is selected then towns (Plaats) are populated. The problem I am now facing is that the viewstate for the dropdown lists is not being saved/restored after an insert action or custom validation error. So basically the dropdown lists are being reset to their default values. Some code (if missing parts, just ask and I will post them) - Don't mind the code structures etc... needs some refactoring :)Attribute I created:

How do I make the dropdownlist in my gridview wider than the control itself..is there a Dropdownlistwidth property??..or do I have to use css..
View 1 RepliesI have a DropdownList where some of the items are longer then the width of the list. Firefox expands the width of the list and shws the full length of the ListItem, but Explorer (som people still use that) doesn't do that which results unability to read the whole of the ListItem. I added a "Title" attribute (Tooltip) to the ListItems which shows the full text but even though, the client asks if it's possible to split long ListItems in several lines so user will be able to read it without needing the Tooltip.

Is there any way to set the width of a GridView to a pre-determined width?
I have set the width of the gridview and all the columns to a % and then to a number of pixels but it does work. The gridview always sets itself to a width required to display all fields and it goes beyond the resolution of the screen. I would like to contain it to 1024 pixels.

I have a dropdown which shows filesnames and when the index is changed, the slected file is offered for download. I also have a button which creates new files ... now after a new file was created, the new filename should also be shown in the dropdown. It works fine, when I refresh the page, but this is not what I want. I tried putting the dropdown in an updatepanel and giving it the file create button id, it failed ... is this the correct apporach or is there an easier way?

In MS Access there is a great method call 'dropdown', you set the focus to the control, mycontrol.setfocus and then call mycontrol.dropdown, really useful when using cascading dropdowns.
Is there a similar method in asp.net or how would I get the dropdownlist to dropdown through code?
