View 4 RepliesI have problem to show method value on asp:Panel.
This is my *.aspx code :
[Code]....
Code Behind :
[Code]....
In this case, I can't show value myMethod at code behind to aspx file where this method is called.
If I use postBackTrigger in upControl updatePanel then the method(myMehod) will show on upShow updatePanel. But the updateProgress doesn't work.
Altough questions somehow similar to this have been asked for a number of times, but the question is still unsolved. Here is the question: I have a gridview which is contained in a tab container ajax control which itself is inside an updatepanel. Gridview works excellent and its corresponding methods are fired accurately, but when I enable paging, (e.g.) after I click on page 2, the gridview hides itself. here is my PageIndexChanging method:
protected void GridView1_PageIndexChanging(object sender, GridViewPageEventArgs e)
{
GridView1.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex;
GridView1.DataBind();
UpdatePanel2.Update();
}
Why paging causes gridview to stop working correctly? What can I do?
I have an UpdatePanel on the page which I'd like to trigger using javascript.First of all my code perfectly works if it's in a website not being inheriting from a masterpage. Now when you put exactly the same code into a website which inherits from a masterpage, the UpdatePanel wouldn't get fired anymore.
Here's the code (.aspx) [Code]....

I have two update panels and in the second update panel i have asp.net button and onclick of the button in codebehind i have disabled it like btnAddSecurity.Enabled = false;
When I disable the button i enable a cancel button before it and on cancel button when i try to enable the btnAddSecurity.Enabled = true it simply doesn't work. Both of my updatepanels updatemode is conditional. what is the problem?
I booked new server and transfer old website to there I using in this site the ajax just updatepanel it's was works on old server without need to copy ajax dll to Bin folder after I transferred the site it's doesn't work and no any page error i tried copy ajax dll to bin folder but same problem.
Note:I installed on server .Net 4.0 and the site works on 3.5 also ajax was v3.5 i think the .Net 4 enough to run all.
I have an onclientclick property on a linkbutton that calls a javascript function.
inside Update Panel

iam getting the error at bold line . my listbox is inside Update Panel and link button too but java script is outside of Update Panel.
I have a GridView in an UpdatePanel and in the code behind I bind to a Datatable and call the GridView's Sort method:
gvUsers.DataSource = dt;
gvUsers.DataBind();
gvUsers.Sort("DateOfBirth", SortDirection.Descending);
However, this doesn't sort the records. I have the Sort event as an asynch trigger for the grid.
I'm just getting into AJAX (little late I know) and am walking through some of the tutorials on the ASP.NET/AJAX site. One thing I've noticed is that I cannot get the UpdatePanel to work (meaning, prevent a full postback of the page) in the ASP.NET Web Site template. I can use the EXACT same markup, code, and web.config in the AJAX 1.0-Enabled ASP.NET 2.0 template and everything works as expected.
Markup:
[Code]....
[Code]....
[Code]....
I cannot use asyncFileUpload as it has too many restrictions which doesn't meet our requirement.
I'm able to add a updatepanel trigger to force the Button1 to perform a postback. after the file uploaded, I need to use a timer to do different tasks and return messages back to client with the timer. That is all fine.
However, when one upload is finished. I try to do it again. The FileUpload1.HasFile is "false". I don't know why. if I remove the timer, at the second time, the HasFile is "true". I think there must be something in the timer and disable the Button1's postback.

I use a tabcontrol with 2 tabs. In the second tabpanel as seen in the code I use a Fileuploadcontrol to upload Images from a users computer.
The problem is that I need to surround the tabcontrol with an updatepanel as I dont want a fullpage postback when switching between these 2 tabpanels. In this code I have the tabcontrol inside an updatepanel but the problem is that the Fileupload controls does not seem to work inside an updatepanel.
How will I solve this problem as I dont want a fullpage postback when switching between the tabs ?

I am trying to add validation on my form. I am using AJAX controls in my form fields.
When I remove the Update panel and AJAX control, my validation starts working, but when keeping both the things together, my validation is not working. How could I make them work together?
<script type="text/javascript">
function Validate() {
var QuestionTextArea = document.getElementById("ctl00_ctl00_cphBody_midbox_fvInsert_txtQuestion");
varError = "";
if (!IsTextBoxEmpty(QuestionTextArea, "
Question Text Area not be Empty.")) {
alert(varError);
document.getElementById("ctl00_ctl00_cphBody_midbox_fvInsert_txtQuestion").focus();
return false;
} return true;
}
</script>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:TextBox ID="txtQuestion" runat="server" MaxLength="1000" Columns="50" Rows="5" Style="width: 380px;
float: none" Text='<%# Bind("Description") %>' TextMode="MultiLine" />
<AjaxControl:TextBoxWatermarkExtender runat="server" TargetControlID="txtQuestion"
WatermarkCssClass="water" WatermarkText="Type your Question Here.">
</AjaxControl:TextBoxWatermarkExtender>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
When I removes ajax extender and Update Panel. My textbox gets validated and when using UpdatePanel. No javascript function created by me is called.
although I've searched already, but here is the thing:I have a ModalPopup wich have a Textbox, a Button and a GridView inside. The Gridview is binded to a SQLDatasource object, and the Select query is something like "SELECT field_1, field_2, field_3, field_4 FROM Table_Name WHERE field_1 LIKE '%@Parameter_2%'".This ModalPopup is used (or gonna be used) to search for a field, so the parameters received by the Query is the text inside the Textbox, I've linked thid inside the SQLDataSource Wizard.The problem is that everything works perfectly fine... inside the panel WITHOUT the ModalPopup Extender, but whe I add the Extender the filter function doesn't work.Here is my code:
[Code]....
Notes: I have a ScriptManager inside the MasterPage, so I don't have to insert one in every page. Also I've tested the code in a new page (the one I use for testing), and it works fine, it filters and everything, the problem is when I add a ModalPopup to the panel.
I have a rquirement thay in grdivew need to show the 2 custom ads and 3 google ads, so i have written an user control and inside that using the adsense script, and binding the gridview manually with 2 custom ads and then calling the user control with few functionality. But i have used ajax to ignore the post back So while clikging on paging the google ads are not loading as they are loading from javascript.I came to know that we cannot call javascript inside updaetpanel means Ajax, this is an urgent requirement for me,
View 2 RepliesI created a .NET user control to work as a DropdownCheckbox and added Jquery to give the sliding and hide effects. The code is as below:
[Code]....
This control works fine in a normal page, but once I put it inside an update panel it doesn't work. Is there a work around or simply I can't use JQuery inside update panel?
After upgrading our project to the .net 4.0 framework (from 3.5), we facing some problems with ajax calls with html in the parameters. As soon as the user enters some html in a text area the ajax call isn't executed anymore. If the user enters plain text only, there is no problem.
[code]...
I'm using the following function (found on this forum) to display a popup control from the server-side:
on the server:
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, GetType(), "userInfoPopScript",
string.Format("showPopup('{0}', 2);", targetControlClientId)
, true);
on the client:
[code]....
this works great for explorer 8 , firefox, chrome but on explorer 7 my page just jumps to the left and doesn't show the popup at all.
If I remove the set__parentElementID call, then the popup is displayed but in the wrong position (of course).
I have an asyncfileupload control within a panel control. The panel is initially set to visible=false on page load. After a user clicks a button to display the panel contents however, I set the panel to visible and the user can then use the asyncfileupload. The problem however, is it seems much of the javascript associated with the asyncfileupload, does not function properly when the panel containing the upload control is set from invisible to visible. If I set my panel's "visible" property to "true" initially, then it works fine. My javascript error message is as follows:
"Form contains a file input, but is missing method=POST and enctype=multipart/form-data on the form. The file will not be sent."
Basically within my asyncfileupload control, I have the following line:
[Code]....
In this scenario, my "args" variable is always null (when I set my pane's "visible" property to "true" on page load, the args variable DOES contain data. Any idea why switching a panel from visible=false to visible=true, would cause an error like this?
I am having trouble with getting the Jscroller2 too work inside an updatepanel after I have added a marquee as a newsbanner. - (The marquee is running outside the updatepanel)Beforer the marquee was present I could trigger the JavaScript with:
[Code]....
Now the Jscroller2 only works when the page is loading the first time and not after the updatepanel has updated.So my question is how do I get the Javascript to fire after the updatepanel have updated when a marquee is present?
I have a asp.net listbox server control that is connected to a jquery plugin that can handle a client side click event for each of the checkboxes it renders.
Whenever I click on a checkbox the click event gets triggered and I make a call to
__doPostBack("UpdatePanel1", ""); so that i can update the updatepanel and rebind the checkboxlist inside it.
is it possible to do the rebind first, and then update the updatepanel? how do i do that? because now, the rebind happens on the second time i click on the checkbox.
MARKUP:.....
I've got a rather difficult one here. I have a JavaScript jquery toggle button inside an update panel. Right now i'm using <form body="onload"> to recall this javascript to re-apply the button state after each partial postback. It works, but it requires two clicks sometimes.
The problem is... after a few clicks, it is significantly slowing down the PC, and I can see the clicks trailing half a second to nearly a second. If I have a group of buttons, all those click events are just catching up to my clicks. It is rather amusing but I suppose it has to do with the fact that the postback is calling the <body onload=" event> each time after the button is clicked.
so how can I then, make this performance faster?
i have set of link buttons outside update panel but when click any one of them they donot work at all , when i set the postbackUrl they make full postback my source code :
<asp:Panel ID="pnl_viewImages" runat="server">
<asp:Label ID="lbl_viewImages" runat="server" style="texalign: left"
Text="view images :"></asp:Label>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width: 100%" class ="Alternating">
<tr>
<td colspan="5">
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="updatePnl_image" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:ListView ID="lv_showImages" runat="server">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Image ID="img_showNewsImage0" runat="server" Height="300px"
ImageUrl='<%# "RetreiveImage.ashx" %>' Width="413px" />
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:ListView>
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lbtn_first" EventName="Click" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lbtn_last" EventName="Click" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lbtn_next" EventName="Click" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lbtn_previous" EventName="Click" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lbtn_delete" EventName="Click" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_first" runat="server" onclick="lbtn_first_Click">first</asp:LinkButton>
</td>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_previous" runat="server" onclick="lbtn_first_Click"><<</asp:LinkButton>
</td>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_next" runat="server" onclick="lbtn_first_Click"
>>></asp:LinkButton>
</td>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_last" runat="server" onclick="lbtn_first_Click">last</asp:LinkButton>
</td>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtn_delete" runat="server" onclick="lbtn_first_Click">delete</asp:LinkButton>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br />
</asp:Panel>`
i tried to remove the table but in vain it does not work also.
I use a border for the TabContainer body which works fine.
[Code]....
also I use three hidden divs and one visible div inside a main div which works as body of Tabcontainer
I have a ListView1 control that his <ItemTempleae> has a another ListView2. ListView2 is surrounded by <UpdatePanel> with trigger and also UpdateMode="Conditional". But, I don't know why ListView2 is not being update as it should, I need to refresh all the page to see the new data enter to ListView2 only. What is the problem? How can it be fixed? I think that the problem is something in the structure. There are about 10 ListView2 with updatepanel surronded them, so when I am looking to update a specific ListView2, it doesn't know which one to update because there are lots of them. What to do in order to solve that problem?
View 3 Replies<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:FileUpload onchange="clickTheButton();" ID="FileUpload1" runat="server" />
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Button1" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
Button 1 is outside the update panel and the javascript that gets run when a user adds a file in the upload box is this:
function clickTheButton() {
document.getElementById('<%= Button1.ClientID %>').click();
}
The problem is simple. FileUpload1.HasFile == false. I don't know why this is, but when I put it in the update panel it ceases to work.
I have seen some other threads on this. But none of them answer why this is happening, they just point to things you can download.
EDIT: Really my main reason for wanting to do this is so that I can get a ..Uploading File.. Tag to pop up while the client is uploading to the server and once it has completed, display it in a datalist. I just cant get the UpdateProgress to work.
