Jan 31, 2010

i'm a quite new in Ajax technologie.The feature of the MaskedEditExtender and its -validator is very helpful. But i have some problem with it.If i try to make a textbox with MasekdEditExtender for time input, so i can give a invalid time e.g. 25:60 and there is no error message of validator.So, how can i avoid inputs like 25:60? As we know the time can take values between 00:00 and 23:59.

C# - Hidden Input Types Get's Created At RUN Time / How To Make Sure That These Are Not Created

Jan 19, 2010

For some reason I have noticed that at run time when looking at my source of my ASP.NET page there are tags being created.

<input type="hidden" name="_VIEWSTATE" id="_viewstate" value="..lots of text.." />

and

<input type="hidden" name="_EVENTVALIDATION" id="_EVENTVALIDATION" value="..lots of text.." />

Why is this and what is it for?

How can I make sure that these are not created?

AJAX :: Make The AutoCompleteExtender More Like The Netflix Search Textbox?

Sep 23, 2010

I am using the autocompleteextender control in a project I am working on for a client, but I would like to be able to match words in the middle of the data I am searching. Controls such as the search textbox on sites like Netflix do this. For example, if I go to Netflix and search for 'wolfman' I get results like:

The Wolfman
The Real Wolfman
House of the Wolfman

With the extender I would only get results beginning with 'wolfman'. If my stored procedure in my webservice is written to do search the text as I want, nothing shows in the extender (I'm guessing because so many top results don't begin with the entered text). Is there a way to get the autocompleteextender to behave more like this?

Web Forms :: Filtering A Textbox As The User Is Providing Input - Using Ajax "FilteredTextboxExtender"?

Jan 31, 2011

I need to filter user input into a textbox - as the user inputs the text (as opposed to examining the textbox on the textchanged event) The FilteredTextboxExtender does the trick, but there is a catch. I want to add formatting (currency) AFTER all of the input is collected in the textbox. The "FilteredTextboxExtender " prevents this from happening. This extender does have a property "Filtermode" which can be set to either "ValidChars" or "InvalidChars" at design time, but I do not know if it can be set at runtime.

Any solutions would be most appreciated. I am also open to other solutions to the problem - which is : do not allow chars other than numeric into the textbox, until the textbox has lost focus, at which time, currency formatting is to be applied.

Access :: Data Transfers / EU Can Make Selections And Input Text Into Fields?

Nov 11, 2010

I'm new to ASP but not programming in general. What I'm trying to accomplish is to have an ASP page where an EU can make some selections and input some text into fields and, upon clicking a submit button, have that input transferred to an access (.Mdb) database's table. I'm not sure how to go about this though. I don't know if it would be an SQL line or a dump to a different file type and then to Access (.Mdb) or something I don't know about.
