I'd like to add a description field to an application that can be as long as several lines (or even paragraphs) or as short as a one-liner.Instead of taking up a lot of screen real estate or have scroll bars, it would be preferable to have the textbox grow based on its input.
On IE6 adding Style="overflow-y:visible" accomplishes this nicely (both on display of read only, and if we are in edit mode).
However, it has no effect on Firefox, or IE7 for that matter.
What i am trying to achieve is that there are 7 columns in my db table. one is primary key and rest 6 are integer columns. Now my application will allow user to input 6 values. I want to compare 6 values entered by user to those 6 integer columns and if in any row 3 or more columns match user's input Primary key of that table is returned..
I have tried using queries, cursor, nested loops and i am still unable to achieve my results..
DB Table Structure.. I am inputting 2,3,7,11,45,65. Number of returned rows should be 5. eg..
I have the following stored procedure and if I execute this on our SQL analyser it returns the record no problem what so ever. BUT if I execute this through ASP.NET (I am using EntitySpace objects) to generate this query into data table and it saying that: "Cursorfetch: The number of variables declared in the INTO list must match that of selected columns."
I've discussed this with EntitySpace team and they said it's query issue? We are stuck with this issue and any guidance or hints that will be good.
The environment that we use:
.NET 4 EntitySpace 2010 SQL Server 2005 Database ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[rpt_CPRRespondListReport] ( @SurveyID INT ) AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON;
Scenario: I have a form with 3 input fields (text1, text2, text3). Is there a method to capture these fields in the aspx file of a second webform? I think you have to use someting like <%= %> but I'm not sure.Idon't want to use the code behind file because the number of input fields is dynamic
I am trying to add row in DataTable CartDT using row[], which is a string array.
DataTable CartDT = new DataTable(); public void DataTableColumn() { CartDT.Columns.Add("Product_Name", typeof(string)); CartDT.Columns.Add("Product_ID", typeof(string)); CartDT.Columns.Add("ItemQTY", typeof(string)); CartDT.Columns.Add("Price", typeof(string)); CartDT.Columns.Add("TotalPrice", typeof(string));
[CODE]..
Now when I execute it, it gives the error that "Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table" The array row[] has exactly 5 elements in it & also DataTable CartDT has also 5 columns. Now i am not able to find exactly where i am wrong.
I have a forum like page ( vBulletin like page). There are mainly two columns involved. User and Decription. The page looks like this
User Description
-----------------------------------------
userpic Subject
username Description
Download link
-----------------------------------------
user pic Subject
username Description
-----------------------------------------
user pic Subject
username Description
-----------------------------------------
In it , userpic, username, subject and descriptions are to be repeated every time. I used listview for this.. But the column 'download link' is to be used at once only in the first post ( of thread author). So, how can I achieve this. I am using asp.net 3.5 and sql server 2005.
I added requiredvalidator to validate the input field in hte detailviews control. the only probably problem is error message shows up when form popup. I only want to show the error message after I click on the submit button. here's my code.
I am fresh to asp.net. I m using vb to write it. Could someone who is professional guide me? I want to input data from textbox to "unknown size" array or arraylist, and bind it to gridview. I have more than 1 data to input. Do i need to use loop to bind?
If i use the multi delimited than error shows.How to use the multi delimited.If i run the code to to load the text file given in above show the bellow error
Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table.
What would be the best way to handle the following scenario? I have an application where depending on what type of proceeding is selected, only certain input fields should be visible.
There are 33 proceeding types and 14 input fields in total
First case, make one big form with all of the fields and have a dropdown with proceeding type which depending on what is selected, makes certain fields visible?
I have a details veiw and when you open it there are far too many fields so it ends up disappearing off the screen. I would like to split the view into two columns, and I tried to add a DIV with css class halfaway down the details view but it dosen't like divs being there. Is there a way round it? You can do it with FormView but i prefer DetailsView
I want to put an input table on a web page using ASP.NET. The input table has 3 columns: date, quantity, and price. The number of rows is variable, depending on user input. The code behind will read the data and perform the necessary calculations. The data will not go into a database. It would be nice to have some client-side or server-side validation for the data, such as required fields and range checking.
Which control(s) in Visual Studio 2008 will perform what I want to do?
The Company table contains any Company with a potential relationship to a "Member". For example:
Companyabc = C (Competitor) Companyxyz = S (Supplier)
When a new Member record is entered, the user selects from two dropdowns: CompanyType (Supplier, Retailer,Competitor); and CompanyName. The CompanyName dropdown is populated depending on the value selected for CompanyType so if the user selects "Supplier" for CompanyType then only those Companies with a CompanyType of "S" for Supplier will be listed in the CompanyName dropdown.
The use can enter up to 10 CompanyType/CompanyName combinations. When the record is saved, these CompanyType/CompanyName combinations are saved in the Member_Company_Link table. One record for each CompanyType/CompanyName combination is entered in the table.
The problem I'm having is in the retrieval process. I have a "search" screen in which users can select certain criteria to list Members by and one of them is CompanyName. For example they want to see all Member records with "company xyz" as a Supplier and/or "companyabc" as a Competitor. Because each Member can have multiple Supplier and/or Comptitor records I can't figure out how to loop through them to match on the value entered by the user. If Member1 has 5 corresponding records in theMember_Company_Link file and 4 of them contain Companies that are Competitors (Competitor1, Competitor2, Competitor3 and Competitor4) and the search criteria is to find records containing "Competitor3" how can I loop through the values in the Member_Company_Link file for each MemberID to see if there is a match for "Competitor3"?
I know this post is too long and most of you will have ignored it by now but I'm hoping someone will have a clue because I've already spent more than a day trying to figure it out. It seems I have to store multiple values in an array but I have no clue how to do this.
My datasource is an ado data table that I have convert to a new data table so that each row in the original table is now a column with 1 row in my new table. I then bind the new datatable and create dynamic template fields with a text box where I bind the values. My problem is, when I try and retrieve the values changed by the user in the rowcommand event, the template columns no longer exists.
Does anyone know how i can retrieve these values? I've read over and over that you have to rebind the grid on each postback when you use dynamic templates, but I'm not sure how to do that and retrieve the values entered in the text boxes on the client side.
In my gridview I have a datetime columns and couple of decimal number columns. Lets say I have a datetime value like this 19.03.2011 00:00:00 and I want it to seem like 19.03.2011. And I would like 2 decimal digits only. How can I achieve this?
I have a Gridview with 12 columns, Jan, Feb...Dec.
I have a textbox value that could be 1, 2,...12
I want if textbox value is 7, then column Aug-Dec in Gridview is editable when in update mode and the column in Jan-Jul is not updatable (eg make it label instead of textbox).
I have a web form that is a Purchase Order. It requires the user to enter a few dates and their personal information as well as picking stock to add to the po. The problem is after the user has entered all their data then then goto add stock and they are taken to a stock listing page, when they return to their form all the data the previously entered (name, department etc) has gone and they have to re enter it. How can I ensure that onces the user has entered this data, it stays there until the form is submitted or reset?
I have 65 columns in the grid, if the columns are reduced to 20 then the speed when accessing from client is more or less similar to that accessing from web browser. Does it mean that all this performance issue is due to the data only ???
I have the following .ashx page that takes some query string parameters and returns a bitmap with the specified text written on it. The problem I have is that I am currently just manually setting the initial size of the bitmap at 100 X 100 when what I really want is to have the bitmap be just big enough to include all the text that was written to it. How can I do this?
