I have a javascript in a .js file to pad zeros to the left of a number in a textbox. I have a textbox on a search screen for which this function works just fine. But when I tried to apply the same function to a textbox in a repeater on the data entry screen, it just does nothing. I get no errors, but it doesn't pad the field when I leave it.avascript function:

The goal is a facebook style interface where one users post can be commented on by another by clicking on a "comment" link. I am finding this some what difficult.
First - although I think that I will have to use a nested repeater, the initial issue is how to ID a text box that is embedded in the repeater.

before in my asp code, calling some public function in the codebehind. But now I'm trying to do this from within a repeater item. I have a nested repeater which displays a food menu - e.g.
Sub Heading
- Food 1
- Food 2
- Button 1
Another Heading
- Food 1
- Food 2
- Button 2
etc. etc.
What I have is a series of buttons inside the itemtemplate of the parent repeater (button 1 and button 2) which, when clicked, i need to somehow add a new blank textbox to below food 2 in whichever section it is clicked
I am having trouble doing this. See my code snippet below:

When I run this though, I receive an error of "object reference not set to an instance of object..."
Do I need to actually find a control within the footertemplate itself?

I am collecting user roles into a single dimension string array.
I have a repeater that its source set to that array. The repeater template includes list of checkboxes for the values in the array.The checkbox text is set to: Text='<%# Container.DataItem %>'
All is good till this point.
But I am trying to call a javascript function triggered by clickign a checkbox and pass it the container.dataitem, but the javascript doesn't seem to be reading the value and either complain about string not being in correct format or that treats the container.dataitem as a liter. This is the trial that didn't work (I tried many different things too):
DetermineVal(<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem) %>);
determineval is my javascript function
Can I do that with a single dimension array?

I have a repeater that has a LinkButton in the Item Template. The LinkButton displays a UserControl that consists of a FormView. The UserControl has an HTML Element that when clicked hides the UserControl by simply change the display of the control from 'block' to 'none'. If the 'Close' span is clicked, the UserControl is successfully hidden, but afterward, the 'Edit' linkbuttons no longer postback.

I have a repeater control that is getting exported to excel. Well excel will no longer show the data that was in the textboxes. I've read the article on exporting a gridview having the same problem and how you replace the texboxes with literal contrls. im tryin to create repeater from code behaind using C#.
