AJAX :: Loading HTML In HTMLEditor Content?

I have a website where I'm trying to use an HTMLEditor to allow users to alter the body of email text. The text is stored in a database and looks like this:

I load the current email body into the Content property of a new HTMLEditor.Editor object. When it loads the HTML, though, it looks like it does above; it doesn't "process" it. Can the Editor process the HTML?
Also, when I do edit HTML in the object and submit, the Editor's Content includes "<" instead of "<", etc. Do I have to manually deal with that?

I've been having some real trouble with the HTMLEditor.Essentially, I would like the editor to display an entry of a SQL database, so that the user can edit the entry and update the entry.So, here is the aspx snippet:

This works great. The problem comes when I want to update the entry back to the database. When I press my asp:button, I use this to find out what my new value is

I'm attempting to add an Editor control to my site. However, my problem is that all I'm seeing when I view it are the toolbars; I can't see content in between the upper and lower toolbar. Having an Editor isn't very useful when I have no content to edit! Here's some code I'm using to test it; what am I missing?

I have successfully implemented a page using a custom verison of the HTML Editor. Now I would like to check to see if the user has modified the content in the editor window and prompt them prior to leaving the page.
I am trying to do this in client side java script (but would be happy to do it server side) and can not seem to detect if there is even content in the HTMLEditor control, so there is no way I will get to the point of seeing if it changed.

I want to save the content in the HtmlEditor into database, I think I can't put "Editor1" as the parameter name of the UpdateParameters, so maybe I can use OnContentChanged for the HtmlEditor to save the content into Label "Settings2" and put "Settings2" as the Parameter Name. Something like:

I am having an issue with the HTML editor when using the context menu to paste content from word. Basically I want to paste the content as plain text which i have been able to do when using the Ctrl +V key by using the captureInDesign method, but unable to do this when selecting paste from the context menu. Is this possible using the AJAX control kit 3.0.30930?

I am struggling to retrieve content as plain text from the Ajax HtmlEditor.
I am using editor.get_content() to retrieve the content and am needing it to be in plain text so that i can compare to the initial value of the content. This needs to be done client side in javascript.
for example the plain text i require is along the lines of -
<a href='blah' ....
What im getting out is
<a shape="rect" href="blah".....
I cannot use the following answer as i am unable to specify a static iframe. Unless there is a way to dynamicly retieve it?

I'm using the ajaxcontroltoolkit htmleditor to create blog posts for my website. The editor works fine when entering a new article. When I click the Bold button, the text appears bold. When I hit enter, the editor creates a new line, etc. However, I also use the htmleditor when I want to edit a preexisting article. The problem I'm receiving, is when I bring a preexisting article into the editor, it displays a mess of html tags rather than the clean, formatted text.
For example, if I type the following into the editor:
...when I go to edit it, it shall appear as:

Is there any way to force the editor to display this text properly when editting rather than showing the html tags?

I'm about to build a web application(not web presentation) which will load its content through AJAX (jQuery) into a specific div. There will be a menu above the div and when a user clicks on an item from the menu, the appropriate page will be loaded into the main div.I'd like to know if there are any cons and pros of choosing this pattern for a web application.So far I'm avare that the browser back button and history/url will be gone.

In part of my web page, I have couple of asp:image Thumbnails, onclick I use ajax modal popup extender to show the imgae in full size which are working fine, what I need to add is to have a processing image or indicator both in thumbnail and modal popup extender, I also have ajax autocomplete that is working fine, I need to add some indicator or processing image to it as soon as user start typing a word.

I am writing an application that renders a list of "Job" objects from an AJAX JSON response.
What is the best way to Render the markup from the returned data. Now I'm pretty convinced that its a bad idea to generate HTML markup on the server side and return that from the AJAX call. From experience it makes the HTML hard to maintain and re factoring the content is a nightmare, so I am returning a collection of Job objects as JSON.
The question, then, is how to render the HTML based on user input? I've seen some examples of having your markup template on the page then use JQuery to clone it and populate with the relevant data the insert it into the DOM.
The problem with this is that the template contains visible content (images and suchlike) and the application needs to degrade, so I have a repeater on the page that the severside code and populate on page load if JS is not available.

I would like to know how the HTML source of ajax based sites can be read using HttpWebRequest / HttpWebResponse (That is reading the contents of a website at server side). The problem that I'm facing is that I'm unable to read parts of the webpage which uses Ajax or stuffs like UpdatePanel.
My application is in ASP.NET / C#, so can't think of using stuffs like Browser control or mshtml.dll since I would not be able to serve multiple requests.

I am using the HTML Editor with a database, which works fine. All the instructions I find show the output on the same page as the Editor - which to me doesn't make much sense... at least not for how I want to use it. I believe I need to use the Literal control, but I can't find a clear example.
If I have Editor1 on page "edit.aspx" which submits the content to database db.mdb, using fields "id" and "fldContent", how can I display the content on another page "view.aspx"?

I wish to execute a javascript function in HTML Editor content. Hower, I give me the error "object expected". It seems like the browser cannot locate my javascript file.
Here is my setup:
- I have an external javascript file, "myscript.js" under "script" folder which has "test" function which contains a single "alert()" command.
- I referenced to "myscript.js" via <script src=....> tag (and also tried using Script manager's ScriptReference Path, same result).
- In my default.aspx page, I have a button which call "test" on mouseover event, which works call "test" correctly whenever I mouseover.
- In my default.aspx, I have the HTML Editor, with the this HTML content:
<span id="0001" onmouseover="alert('ok');">OK</span>
<span id="0002" onmouseover="test('not ok');">Not OK</span>
When I mouseover "ok" alert() script executed, but it give "object expected" error on I mouse over "not ok", it look like the browser cannot find "test" in myscript.js.
How do I reference this a script file inside the HTML Editor content?

How to save Ajax Editor content as an HTML file to a disk?
Let's say I have an Ajax Editor which allows user to type or paste in long message or writting. Once he clicks on "submit" button, an HTML file will be created and save to a disk. I am working on asp.net 3.5, ajax version 3.5 (from codeplex, work well).

I'm using Table Adapters method called GetBBNewsByNewsID with the following SQL query:
SELECT Description
FROM BB_News
WHERE (NewsID = @NewsId)
The table has columns: NewsID, Header and Description. I only chose Description cuz that's all I wanted to show.

I'm using AJAX Control Toolkit HTMLEditor.
I have a sample Microsoft Word document which has several paragraphs.
When I click the button "Paste from MS Word (with cleanup)" on the Editor, <br/> is inserted as the HTML instead of <p></p> i.e. HTML paragraphs.
I would like the MS Word paragraphs to retain their meaning and have a <p> instead of <br />.
(By the way, they are kept if I do a standard Paste, but then a lot of other obscure characters are inserted into the HTML)

I have update panel on the page to avoid postback and placed a dropdownlist control within that update panel. DrodownList is filled with Category names and also it's autopostback set to True.
Now whenever dropdownlist index change's on select, untill page loads complete  data it should show mesage as "Loading.... in center and middle of the page and background should become bit transparent". And when page load completely with data then that background and message should get disappear.
