In my page without using updatepanel page open firsttime it fires only single time, after using updatepanel page load fires twice firsttime page open.. how to solve it.
View 1 RepliesI want to create a page with 4 UpdatePainels but when this page loads in the browser only the first UpdatePanel will load and others will be hidden. This others will be load when I click on the buttons located on the first UpdatePanel. My intention is that the page doesn't load entirely at once, just when I click on the buttons. How can I do this?
View 2 RepliesI have a script manager and 3 update panels on my page. I am not very familiar with AJAX but I would think anything in the contentTemplate would not cause a postback and page reload, but they all do, here is the outline of the SM and UpPanels

I have two updatepanel in a page which use a master page. the two updatepanels update mode is conditional
1st updatepanel update mode = conditional and childreenAstrriger = false
2nd updatepanel update mode = conditional
When i click any element in the fist updatepanel it update the second update panel with .Update() method.
When i click second update panel only second one will update (its ok).
All Works fine when i run from server as i excepted.
But when i run from visual studio(8) the first update panel works normally, but when i clicked any element in the second update panel, I put a break point in _PageLoad(), i notified that _PageLoad() events fire twice. First time it is as NotIsPostBack and in the second time as IsPostBack (what i excepted is single _PageLoad() events fires and is IsPostBack but this was not what when i run from VS(8) but from server all things ok) (i have a grid in second update panel and it have preRender event also with RowCommand , updating...etc.)

In my web form, i have 2 drop downlist controls. eg. dropdown1 and dropdown2. I will change the dropdownlist1 item, consequently selectedindexchanged event fires and reloads the dropdownlist2 items. And i have another button also in order to get the result based on the dropdown1 and dropdown2. Lets say for example, i have a list of countries in dropdown1 and a list of states in dropdown2. I selected "India" in dropdown1 and correspondingly "Tamilnadu" in dropdown2. And then click a button which calls the dataset based on dropdown1 and dropdown2. The problem i face here is, whenever i click on the button to load the dataset, dropdown1 value remains the same as the dataset is not called again, whereas the dropdown2 value changes to the first one as it gets called automatically during postback. For your information, I have loaded both the lists in the page load using (!IsPostback) property.

I can't figure out why, but before my form is even displayed, the CheckChanged event fires. I don't even have a chance to check anything. Has anyone seen anything like this?
View 3 RepliesI have an ASP.NET page using the AJAX library. There is a dropdownlist inside an UpdatePanel, which on index changing is supposed to update a different UpdatePanel to modify a grid control.But after the page first comes up, and you adjust the ddl, the entire page postbacks, followed by a (correct) partial postback. After this one time, every other usage of the ddl performs correctly, trigger partial postbacks.
Both the panel and the ddl are being added from code. The UP is Conditional updates and ChildrenAsTriggers = true. The dropdownlist is AutoPostBack true and has an event set up on SelectedIndexChanged.So what is going on? I've tried adjusting every setting I can think of and still the page completely refreshes once, then works fine after that.
I have 2-3 update panel in my page and i don't want to load chart every time when my page loads or button clicks etc. I put that in update panel with triggers means only some clicks should loads chart. but that chart gets loaded everytime. how to stop that from loading

Here i am using following code to get it back to the same content page after succesful login but it does not show the user details on the same content page rather when i go to next page then it appears.

How do I create a new event in a base page class that fires after all derived pages have fired their load events but before any controls fire their load events.
The following code fires the event before the derived page's load event. I want it to fire the event after the derived page's load event but before all control load events:

View 1 RepliesI have 2 Textboxes in a Master Page with AutoCompleteExtender. But one of them fires at a time. I have tried putting them into separate webservices but that didn't work. I initially tried just making them a page method but that didn't work at all (My guess is ServicePath can't read .Master instead of .aspx properly)

I'm able to add a updatepanel trigger to force the Button1 to perform a postback. after the file uploaded, I need to use a timer to do different tasks and return messages back to client with the timer. That is all fine.
However, when one upload is finished. I try to do it again. The FileUpload1.HasFile is "false". I don't know why. if I remove the timer, at the second time, the HasFile is "true". I think there must be something in the timer and disable the Button1's postback.

I have an update panel which contains a number of controls. The update panel is triggered by the OnSelectedIndexChanged event of a dropdownlist called: ddlUSCitizenshipStatus. It works as expected when I selected a new item.
However, if I leave ddlUSCitizenshipStatus with the default value, and then click "submit" button on the page, the requiredfieldvalidators say there is an error on ddlUSCitizenshipStatus (which it should, as I never selected a value). So I then choose a value, the error message goes away on ddlUSCitizenshipStatus, however the updatepanel does not refresh. I've debugged this locally and the OnSelectedIndexChanged event for ddlUSCitizenshipStatus does not fire.
If I choose an item in the ddlUSCitizenshipStatus list a second time, the OnSelectedIndexChanged server event fires and the update panel refreshes and works as expected.The issue is, I have to select an item in ddlUSCitizenshipStatus twice, after failed validation, before the updatepanel it's sitting in updates.The submit button on the page looks like this:

The dropdownlist, update panel, and reguiredfieldvalidator all work as expected. However, I need to run that custom "ValidatePage()" script when the button is clicked.Below is what my ValidatePage script looks like. I've been troubleshooting this for more hours than I can count.... I hope someone is able to help me. Please let me know if you can figure out why ddlUSCitizenshipStatus doesn't update the updatepanel until the second click after a failed validation.

I have a web page which has about 11 gridviews.Hence the page takes bout 15 seconds to load.The grids are 1 below the other.They are populated at the page load.
I need a solution to reduce page load time. Is there a way,where the gridview loads only if user scrolls to it. I donot want the user to make selection for everytime he wishes to see a gridview. The page should show gridview if its data is bound to it, not waiting for entire page gridviews to get populated.
