I am really new to AJAX and Web Application development in general. What I am trying to do is relatively simple, problem is...I'm just not sure how to do it.
I wish to popup some sort of control that contains a "asp:Label" and an "asp:TextBox" where I can input a value into the textbox. Is this possible to do with AJAX? If so, how is it done?
I've been stymied for a few days on and interface issue with Autocompleteextender and a simple textbox. Is the user types in the textbox while the scroll position of the page is near the top, the autocomplete pops under the textbox, just like it should. However, when I scroll down a little, the autocomplete pops over top of the textbox, making it impossible to see what you are typing. How do I force the autocomplete to pop under the textbox no matter the scroll position of the page? My code is below:
Recently upgraded to VS2010 and just (today) downloaded the latest version of the toolkit. The calendar doesn't pop up when my date textbox receives focus. I never encountered this problem with VS2008 and have many of these controls installed and working fine.
I have the toolkit dll in the bin directory and have added a reference to it. The project builds fine - no errors. The page code looks fine - no errors or ugly blue squiglies. In design view everything looks fine - no error messages.
The implementation in question is about as basic as it gets:
Im building a web application that displays a xfdf document. When we are testing in adobe 5 and we can't stop adobe opening outside the webpage. The user clicks the report and it should open in the browser but instead it opens in adobe it appears to work in everything but adobe 5. We have previously done this with out any problems. Any ideas? This is a snippet of the xfdf
My BeginForm is like this.. <% using (Html.BeginForm("Insert", "StudentController", FormMethod.Post, new { @id = "exc-" })) {%>
I have one textbox in my view I need to check my textbox is empty or not if it is Empty display alert box saying please Enter some value in textbox other wise go to controler..
I have a form that when submitted shows a busy animation and disables the submit button.
Anyone know how to query Microsoft's Sys.Mvc.FormValidation to see if the form passed it's test so I can prevent the busy animation showing if the form hasn't actually been submitted? Or even some other work-around? In case it's relevant - I'm using Data Annotations for my validation.
At present my client side javascript looks like this:
I m using a dropdownlist from sqldatasource based on input from listbox like this-
[Code]....
It works very much fine when i select listitem from listbox first time. But when i select listitem from listbox second time, my dropdownlist shows items for second input as well as first input.dropdown should not show items based on first input when i populate it second time.
I've tried to override error message when input incorrect data type in input field on HTML form. For example I have the model like this.
public class Person { public string FirstName {get;set;} public int Age {get;set;} }
For view, I put text input for Age to get it value. When type some string in Age text box like 'test' and press submit button. I got this error message ,The value 'xxx' is not valid for AgeHowever, I want to change this message and try many way. There 's nothing effect this message value.
I have an ambitious requirement for an asp.net 2.0 web page that contains a table (gridview), and each row in the grid contains 6 select (dropdown) controls for data entry. The number of rows that will be displayed is dependent upon the user's search parameters, which are specified in another area of the page. Unfortunately, with the default (and even basic) search parameters specified, the grid could contain several hundred rows. I've noticed that the browser, in this case IE8, starts behaving rather erratically once I reach a large number of rows -- no documented evidence for the number of rows where this begins to be a problem. For example, trying to view the source of the page results in a message from IE stating that there was a problem with the page that forced the browser to reload it, and I never get the source. Obviously the page loads and renders rather slowly also.
I know that my solution is probably going to involve paging the gridview such that it only displays 20 or so rows per page, and I'll have to write code to handle the saving of changes in the dropdown values when the user changes pages. I can probably turn off viewstate on the gridview also. However, the question I really want to pose is this -- has anyone seen a documented rule indicating the maximum number of input controls that an HTML browser form is supposed to be able to contain? I could not find anything on the Internet after doing a search, and I suspect the answer may be whatever the browser can handle based on the machine configuration it is running on. Any rules of thumb you use?
I have an ASP.NET application designed for a Windows CE device that needs to take in information from a scanned barcode. The device sends the scanned data as string input with a crlf to whatever field has focus. I set up my page with a textbox that takes the input and posts back to look up the item.
Now, I'd like that box to not be visible to the user, but IE complains when I set focus to it if the field is "visibility: hidden" or "display: none". I've tried moving it off screen using absolute coordinates, but setting the focus scrolls the window to the new location.
I am new to C# , i've build a simple web form which shows a result based on 4 pulldown menus. I wish to save this result during the session the user spends on the website, untill the user resubmits the form. So when coming back to the result page, the search results are still shown.http://www.estatewise.nl to see the form in action.
I'm using Josh Bush's MaskedInput plugin for jQuery in an ASP.NET 3.5 Webform app. How to get rid from the literals in the code-behind file after form submit? E.g: a phone input with the mask $("#txtPhone").mask("(99)9999-9999");
In the code-behind:
string customerPhone = txtPhone.Text Which returns me: (12)3456-7890 But this is what I want: 1234567890
In the plugins changelog page it says I can use mask() method with no arguments to archieve this. But how to do it from the code-behind?!
EDIT
I want to send to the server the unmasked value. How to do that?
I'm trying to devise a form that will allow me to input multiple contacts. It's a pretty long form so far and I want to keep it as short as possible. I was thinking of just having one set of fields for contact inputting which will add this contact to a list box or gridview but I'm not sure that is the most elegant solution. Could anyone else point me in the right direction to something good I can use?
magine that i have a web page in my application for inputing data and there is a grid behind it(showing inputing data)...i want to force this web page acts like a windows application(mean i do not want any postback after enter and that grid should be updated after inputing data without postback)...imagine that i opened this page in my pc and my friend has opened this page too / i want when i input data in ajax mode , that grid updated for my friend without any postback / like windows application ...is timer a good idea for doing this ?or is there a better way for doing that?
I've written a small class .That has a method for adding and subtracting.
My class file is fine and everything works well when I hard code the integer values. But the moment I try to use textboxes in my methods signature to accept values it complains that this is an inavlid argument. I assume that this is because I used int as my signatures but then how can i use my class to textboxes as input.
I have a gridview that I can't for the life of me get the datepicker calender to pop up for. I've been using the datepicker for months very successfully for a variety of textboxes on the page and inside of formviews but this is the first time I've tried using with gridview. I didn't expect any issues however can't seem to find anything to work. I have searched the forums for 2 days and attempted any suggestions found within the solutions to no avail. I've tried using the CSS to link the datepicker but everything stopped working when I changed the code and my page which uses a css style already got all distorted looking. Here is my gridview (only included a part b/c it is large and am only having problem with the datepicker for the date completed text box)
[Code]....
Here are my scripts at the bottom of my page...the problem one is the "txtActual_date_completed". Please note that I am using 2 other datepickers on this page in fiter criteria for my gridview and they are working just fine.
I developed a website project using visual studio 2008 and language used is c#. It was working fine till yesterday[i.e., It compiled and also i could run it using the asp.net development server by pressing ctrl+f5] and today when i tried to run it says "unable to connect to asp.net development server". I tried to reinstall visual studion 2008 and even now its not working. Also when i go to websites n asp.net configuration option it say the same error "unable to connect to asp.net development server". I absolutely no idea about why this error popped up. I got my project demo. day after n how can this be set right.
In a custom component, there is a popup window that should appear to me so that I can manipulate one of the lists (an in-built editor). The component is Telerik, but I don't think that has anything to do with it (maybe).
The popup window is no longer popping up to me. I wonder if it got minimized or it's a z-index thing, where the window is behind VS? But this locks up VS, and I can't do anything within it until I cancel the window. But I can't cancel the window because I can't see it... and so that is really slowing me down and is really frustrating.
Is there a way to get around this? A key press to bring this to the front or give it the focus?
