I have existing web site which is using asp.net 3.5, sql server 2008 and visual studio team edition 2008.
i downloaded ajax latest library from ajax web site and put under Bin folder.
i tried to use calendar extender but it is not working. apart from that , i tried many but it is not working..
why AJAX control toolkits are not working..

I have created a web aplication in the following environment Visual studio 2008, IIS 5.0 & OS:Windows XP. It is working fine in my local system. But when I host this application on the server some of the AJAX methods are not working.
The server environment: They have installed Microsoft .Net framework 3.5, IIS 7.0 & OS:Vista.
I am using a text box in that application. When a user types any character say 'a' a div will be opened below the text box displaying all the cities starting with the character 'a'.

The ajax method which was written in the .cs file returns the response.value correctly in my local system.But in the server the Ajax method is not returning the response.value.
I am trying to use the update panel for the drop down to avoid page refresh and this is not working for me...I am using VS 2008.
what I am missing here....I have tried using AJAX script manager as well as AJAX Tool Kit script maanger and none is working.

I have a framework 2.0 AJAX app that was moved to Windows 7 2008 R2 server with II7. The application pool is set to 2.0 for the website, but its always looking for this assembly. Everything I've read says you do not install AJAX 1.0 Extensions on Server 2008? Since this IIS is not mine, I'm trying to be cautious. Should I install the extensions, or is there some server setting Im missing??

After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.

I am working on an ASP.NET project and I cannot make the breakpoints work! The project does not stop where I place a breakpoint. It does not seem to matter where I place the breakpoint.
I am in debug mode; I am using IE 8, Windows 7 OS;
I have an asp.net website I wrote just for mobile devices. They all are running Windows Mobile 6.1 with Internet Explorer but they are different brand of devices such as PSION and others. On one device the site works great. I am using SetFocus in the code behind to set focus to buttons and textboxes after postbacks depending on the situation. On the other device the controls do not get the focus set.
Is there another method i should be using? I think I can set focus using javascript but can I call it at the end of a sub in the code behind? I'll have to look that up now.

I want to F11 through a button click event but the breakpoint I have set inside it doesn't halt code execution. I can see the shortest of pauses on the breakpoint itself but the code only stops executing at the next breakpoint outside the event (which is the page load ie. a postback). Why can't I step through the code in the button click event?
View 15 RepliesI have a .aspx page that has a button on it.When the user clicks on the button, it should call another .aspx page. I am using the following javascript code that works well in our development region. But when it is deployed to another IIS server, it doesn't work.

I replaced the IP address with the word localhost and it didn't work either.For some reason, when the user clicks on the button, it opens up another browser window and the address seems to be like this. which is very weird.[URL]I don't understand why the link is getting messed up? Is there any alternate solution for this problem? May be I use server code to call the .aspx page instead of Javascript?
I have a GridView in ASP.Net 3.5. I added BoundFields as columns, set DataField and Header Text. Total I have 6 columns like that. Although I set "AllowSorting=True" in design view, when I run this page, all the columns didn't have hyper link that I can click on it and sort that particular column. I bind this column at code behind by using datatable.

I have created an application which is relying on routing extensively. it works fine in my development machine, and when deployed in the local IIS server. but when i publish it to remote server routing does not work? any idea why it happens. i also have the following in my web.config

I have an asp.net application. This is a role based authorization. Basically, if the user's are in a specific AD group, it should allow them to look at the webpage. Otherwise it should error out saying "not authorized".
In the web.config file, I have the following lines of code. I made sure I am in the Apr-Sales-Writers AD group.

I have an application in Visual Studio 2008. I have been working with it for some time. Today, suddenly, it will not debug, or more specifically it does not stop at the breakpoints I created in Visual Studio. It just ignores them. I tested the break points by adding one at the opening of the Page_Load event and nothing. If I put in a mistake on purpose the application will build, the internet explorer opens, and gives me an error report. It has never done this before. Usually it stops IE from opening and gives me a list of errors at the bottom of the VS screen. I want my old VS back. I don't see how this could have changed it but I'll mention the things I've worked on recently. I've been trying to configure the session states in the web.config page, and then recently I started a new web page with a conection to a database and gridview. I have restarted VS and nothing has changed.
View 2 RepliesI know this is working correctly beacuse when I publish my website to my hosting provider, and request a resource in a protected directory, and I am not currently authenticated, I get automatically redirected to my login page and then once successfully authenticated granted access and redirected back to the sure *.aspx file in my protected directory (assuming I am authorized for those resources).
So that is working no problem.
However, when I run this from visual studio 2008 (F5) in debug mode, I am not being required to authenticate. It simply serves up the protected resource without asking for my credentials.
If I put a [PrincipalPermission(SecurityAction.Demand, Authenticated = true)] on a BLL class method, it will throw an security exception, but the page that is calling it is in a secure directory and I am never asked to authenticate using the login page.
I am closing and re-opening brosers, clearing cookies, etc..., but no matter what I do I am not automatically redirected to the login page, and the secure page when I launch from visual Studio running on the embedded local host. Thiis working perfectly externally, same build, same web.config, pointing to the same database, on the hosting provider. (yes, eventually, I will be using dev/test/prod db configurations to test, but for now for simplicity I am keeping it the same)
Not only is it maddening, but worse yet, it would obviously make testing this application impossible after the initial release.
I have developed a website using visual studio. Now i want to deploy the same on server having windows server 2008 o.s. and IIS 7. When i copy the website and paste it into wwwroot folder of iis its not working. What settings need to be done so that website can be accessed from iis.

I have a simple .aspx page. Where I need to connect to sql server 2008 and show the records on the page in a gridviewcontrol. It will have Edit button on the gridview control. I am getting some weird message about the connection string.
