I have never faced something like this before, is it .Net 4.0? or Me?

It is pretty basic, my problem is I always get following
Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled.
i use vs 2010 ultimate. i created a 'asp.net web application' from scratch, right clicked app_data and added a new sql server database (named MyDB), built two tables and saved it, added a 'ado.net entity model' to my project(named EDM_MyDB). then i dragged and dropped a 'list view' and 'entity data source' on my default.aspx. i tried to configure my 'entity data source' instance. in configuration window, underconnection string i tried to choose my entity instance (which i'd created before) but suddenly a popup message came up and said: The metadata specified in the connection string couldn't be loaded. Consider rebuilding the web project to build assemblies that may contain data. The following error(s) occurred: Unable to load the specified metadata resource.here is my whole connection string tab:

I have just deployed my ASP.NET MVC 2 application using EF 4 and I am getting the following error:
Unable to load the specified metadata resource.
On my local machine it runs fine with no errors. This error only comes now when I deployed to the server. I have my enity data model file in MyProject.EntityModel. I used the POCO entity generator to separate my context and entities. These 2 are in another project called MyProject.Entities. I have the connection strings in the app.config in the 2 projects exactly the same. The connection string in the web.config in my MVC app is also the same. I'm not sure why this is giving me issues? I'm also running the app in IIS (that comes with Windows 7) and it works fine. The IIS version on the server is 6 (I think). Here is the full error message:

I have an Ajax enabled web app created with Visual Studio 2005 - .Net framework 2.0. I publish this to a Windows 2003 server and everything works fine.
I now need to publish to a Windows 2008 server with IIS 7.0. Whereas before I used to publish to http:// .... (because the site on the 2003 server was Frontpage server extension enabled} I can't see how to do this in IIS 7.0 so I have published to a share on the server at \servernamewebsites ameofwebsite
When I try to run the site I get this:

I've created a website and now I'm trying to publish it on web server but I'm getting a lot of errors related to 'web.config' that website working fine in my VS2010 but I don't know what's the problem on the server I'm getting following error:-

I have a webapplication designed in asp.net 2.0 which works fine since years.Recently we wanted to protect the source code so we tried to precompile the site using publish method. Unfortunately it showed hundreds of errors and the build failed. then i created a test site with only two pages and no other controls except a button and a label control in them which show server time and navigates to each other using response.redirect whenever the button is clicked.

Specifically I want to be able to add a 'Title' attribute to html controls that will then appear as a tooltip on the control. I would like to keep the tooltip text with my model, for example by adding 'Tiltle' metadata to the model as follows:

Recently I've upgraded from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010, however I'm having various problems when uploading my compiled web site to the live area. I'm doing exactly the same as I would have done with Visual Studio 2008, however, now I receive errors such as:
{filename}.aspx is not a pre-compiled file
masterpage.master does not exist
All these errors don't make sense. Has anyone encountered these problems before, and was a solution ever found?
i develop a site that is working fine on my system. but when i publish this the data is not saving into the database. my database in in app_data folder. what is the problem.
View 2 RepliesI am slowly working out the setup issues with Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on my newly installed Windows 7 Professional Machine. I was running XP and copied most of my files back over using the 'Windows Easy Transfer' tool I used prior to installing (not an upgrade) Windows 7.
When I try to publish my website to wwwroot in 2 ways. When I select 'Delete all existing files prior to publish' I get the following error:
Error deleting file 'about.aspx'. Unable to delete 'about.aspx'. This function is not supported on this system.
When I use 'Replace matching files with local copies' I get this error:
Unable to add 'about.aspx' to the Web site. Unable to add file 'about.aspx'. Access is denied.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to publish my asp.net application to a server but I need to be able to debug the application on the server in order to test session variables and other things. Originally, I copied and pasted the application and it works fine on the server except for some error reports. Furthermore, I was not able to run through visual studio because it was giving me an error for every ajax control I had. Then I went through publishing the website and it stripped all of my C# code such that I can't debug the files. I need to be able to take care of the errors created by the ajax controls AND debug the application in visual studio at the same time.

I can serialize data about the user without any problem like this:

My case:I am developing an application that will run for multiple clients, each client has the ability to customize field displays and error messages.My issue:I created some custom attributes which inherit from DisplayNameAttribute, RequiredAttribute etc... and in them I am pulling out the resource needed.However it is only executed the once, so if my context changes it will be pulling the incorrectly cached value instead of pulling the new value need.Has anybody attempted to try something like this with the data annotations? Or any advice such as just don't use them for this scenario?

Currently I m developing a web page which holds a grivview. As one of the column needs a multiple column dropdown with soring facility, I am using ajax:popupExtender to achive that. Basically in the column i have a Panel1(label & image which mocks up has a dropdown), ajax:popupExtender, Panel1(gridview to have mutiple column). When user clicks on it the ajax:popupExtender is called & the targetpopupid which is a panel2 with gridview is called.
Here when user clicks on thePanel1, I am able to display Panel2 using ajax:popupExtender. Also, when user selects some row, I am able to close/hide the ajax:popupExtender in the code behind using cancel(). (this is done in selectItemIndexchange of panel2 grid view).
But my problem comes when user doesn't select any row & clicks back on the panel1, the ajax:popupExtender will remain open. but it should have been closed as i am trying to mock up dropdown dunctionality. how can I hide/close ajax:popupExtender when user clicks on panel1 2nd time.
Following are the different approaches I tried but nothing worked out.
1. wrote JS, & tried to add attributes of the Panel1's onclick event.

My aim is to call this service in my aspx page java-script code and return complex object back as JSON to my javascript. I have no problem on doing this through classic asmx web service.
When I try to test it through my browser by type this in the URL , URL-http://localhost:3849/WebServices/Account/WCFCompanyService.svc/GetAll. it return "Method not allowed."
