Feb 23, 2010
I have devloped a dashboard, which contains different sections. Each section shows a certain user control. some user controls shows graphs and grids and some information after some calculations. Some of these controls take times (10 seconds) to load, that's why whole page take a remarkable time to load.
I wana display skelton of page and some of controls, not taking much time, and display some processing sign on controls taking time more than 5 seconds. and refresh contents of these controls after processing at server done.
I have a textbox on which i have call ajax to check the product is already exist. I have done it ,now i want to show the processing image when the textbox's onchange event occurs ... My code is :

My scenario is that when a user clicks a link to download a file, a large file will be downloaded. But many files are zipped and to become a requested large file, files are needed to be unzipped at the server side and download it. Meanwhile unzipping the files, I wanna show to the user how many percent of files have been unzipped.
So, I save the current condition of % into the session () and it has been updated accordingly and in the other page session is called using the iframe to be seem as they are in the same page. But the problem is that,
while updating the iframe with update pannel and timmer tick event doent work and only when unzipping process has done, it works.
I have a page that the users get redirected to. On page load this page runs a bunch of code behind that and loads table. The processing could take a few seconds to minutes depending on how big a report is run. Is there any way to completely render the page before automaticly kicking off the code? I am trying to stay away from forcing the user to click on another button.
I have two controls, each placed in their own <div> and <UpdatePanel> on my form. I am having trouble getting the partial page postback to fire after the file upload has completed. I have not used the __doPostBack approach before so I'm not sure if I am heading in the right direction.
I'm looking for some opinions on how to go about the following:
Say I have a wizard control in my website, and I've completed all the steps on the wizard and I want to redirect to another page after the "Finish" button I've clicked. So, then after that I logout of my site, and go back into it bearing in mind the wizard has been completed, I want to redirect the user to another page and by-pass this wizard control. Would I setup a flag in the database, to indicate if the wizard control has been completely filled or not. If status = true then redirect the user to different page (and bypass wizard)... but if status = null then make sure user still can go through steps in the wizard control.
[Code]....
set a flag to state whether all of the wizard has been filled in or not / otherwise go back and complete the wizard?
I was wondering if there was anyway to populate the page with asp.net code like "<asp:Repeater ID="rptProducts" runat="server">MORE_CODE</asp:Repeater>" and then have the server use that code on the page. I'm not sure if i'm making sense. Like writing the asp.net front end code to the page dynamically before the .net engine generates the output html.
i have a web application which which proccesses some request on some data that client selects, when the client selects more than 20 objects and clicks on proceed the client recieves this error, because the server takes a long time to process, however if the records are less and hence a timely response is recieved, no such error comes?

We have a page that will have the option to print, but along with being able to print the entire page out. We need to provide a print option for a specfic portion of the page. What i was thinking of doing is wrapping that portion of the page with a div and when they click the button to print just that, i can display that in a new popup window that will be formatted for print.
I have an Html Form that I want to set focus to when the page loads. What I have done is coded the Site.Master to run a javascript function on page load. That js function retrieves a hardcoded form name from the DOM and, if found, sets focus to an input field in that form.
I wanna show a waiting screen when all elements in my web page are loading, and waiting screen will show off when loading is complete. I don't know how to get notification in Jquery when all elemnts are completely loaded ?
From a web page I start a time consuming job and update it's status on the UI using webmethod.
Job is done in a thread:
ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(DoJob), parameters); Job set's it status using static properties, and when web page, using javascript, calls web method it read those properties.
[System.Web.Services.WebMethod] public static ProcessStatus GetProgressStatus() { Jober.Lock.EnterReadLock(); ProcessStatus st = new ProcessStatus(Jober.PercentageCompleted, Jober.TotalNumber); Jober.Lock.ExitReadLock(); return st; }
The UI progress is updated through javascript, the problem is that after thread completes I need to update UI on server side, so javascript won't help me here. What Is the best way to signal when thread is completed?
I want to have two pages/views(?) A and B. When a user sees page A, I want to display a section of the B page inside the A page. When the user sees page B, he should see the regular B page.
function DatalistFunction(argumentid) { set_minimum_points_for_session = value; SetSession(set_minimum_points_for_session); Redeem(argumentid); }
this is my code which i am calling on link button onclientclick event.
sometimes what happens is redeem function gets called first and then setsession function gets called. do i need to put some delay or something between the 2 functions, so that they run everytime in their own order
